- Interview segments with the Smashing Pumpkins from Reading Festival 1995, leading up to Mellon Collie's release. First up, Kennedy conducts a humorous interview on Alternative Nation, followed by the dreadful Louis Largent talking to them on 120 Minutes, and the band is toying with him the whole time.
your friend Courtney is on stage right now. Yeah, she's not my friend. LOL!!!
Damn, i'm loving the interviewer. She's kinda funny and silly, without being forced or annoying. Seems like people are just having a good time!
that was the 90s alright. :) Kennedy was great.
Northernmight Now you can watch Kennedy everyday on Fox Business Channel!
Northernmight she's got her own show on Fox News now. She's great lol
kennedy is one of the best 90s interviewers, i can send more interviews with her if you want
she seemed obnoxious
In your record stores soon. Gotta love the 90s..
every dacade before the 90s had record stores
@@oDTRT and after lol
The look Billy gives James at 6:06....James just shakes his head.
i love how Billy just ignores questions he doesn't want to answer..."Billy? Billy?" "oh hi kennedy"
Yeah he was being a bit of a prick lol
I can understand ignoring an interviewer if they asked something stupid or personal, but she asked a genuine question so...
Agreed lol
Seems like he was really high
Maybe he was just tired of the same old lame questions. and these are lame b.s. interviews
I miss the 90's so much.
3:46 iha cringe lol
Kennedy can stand toe to toe with any rocker! Cracks me up
What an exciting thought that people hadent heard the full album yet. They were in for a real treat.
You can hear the song doll parts by Courtney love in the backround
Only Interview where Billy lets the others speak.
they speak something not much interesting to share. Maybe cause it was a thing to fool around then
D’Arcy is usually the only other one who talks more than a little from the interviews I’ve heard.
3:23 I hope we can Hear all that name together once again in the future
@@versionsfromtheclypse2030 after what Billy said to darcy I lose all hope.. Thanks for reminding me of this comment tho 👍🏻 it's such a good old time when I was a fan of sp
"Discentiontary" - Jimmy
D'arcy looks so cute haha
bad manners Billy, at 4:22 wipes his nose/face then touches d'arcy :)
Saw this show. It was phenomenal
"She's not my friend"
3:45 so embarassing
5:28 Is James making a tongue-in-cheek reference to Eddie Vedder's one appearance on SNL?
I want the full show god damn it
Kid of the 90s - best time eva
I was at Reading this weekend. James Iha kept apologising for playing the new stuff (the album hadn't been released at the time). I don't think I was that impressed if I'm honest (it was the only time I saw them in the flesh), but I never seemed to like hearing stuff live before on record. Apart from that - it was awesome.
He was exactly the same when they played Dublin 😆
Darcy is so freakin cute here.

Now it’s a bubble bath! 😂 Nice one Jimmy!
Billy is high AF on here
He stopped doing drugs after gish
@@joewillburn not sure that's accurate. I definitely remember one of his blog entries mentioning being on mushrooms in some celebrity's pool between mellon Collie and adore. And that Rio show he definitely looks like he's tripping!
@@werideatdusk rumour
@@joewillburn incorrect
@@joewillburn he writes about doing drugs long after Gish in his online journal
This is like wrangling cats.
I always used to laugh at how cool Lewis Largent thought he was.
My brace fell out of my mouth when I was watching this. o_o

aw! billy d’arcy james jimmy, they’re all so cute!
Classic Kennedy! Major Lazer should of watched this interview.
Billy looked like Matt Bellamy in this little era
2:30 "for a bunch of Wisconsin people..." 😂
So these guys came along roughly the time Kurt Cobain died ; although some of their music didn't bleed onto the mix music stations until a couPle years later which was what station I was listening to at the time .
Pumpkins were contemporary w Nirvana, and they played together many times before both broke, and Corgan dated Courtney Love etc and knew everybody. Corgan and Cobain were even born the same year I believe.
Pumpkins 1st and 2nd albums were released in 91 and 93, the same years as Nirvana's 2nd and 3rd albums. Pumpkins became a mainstream hit in 93 w the 2nd album, 2 years after Nirvana had become a mainstream hit w their 2nd album.
I always liked kennedy she knew how to mess around with talk on interview.
4:39 A better double album comparison would have been The Wall, Louis.
Oh tell me about that Michael Stipe and crush thing, please?
Sadie Sleepwalker crush with eyeliner is a song he wrote. Kennedy jokingly asked if he wrote it about Billy.
The way Billy reacted seems like there could be truth to it
lol
I was at Reading that day. Pumpkins are my favourite band ever but weren't great. Hole were savagely brilliant though.
Not a big fan of that screamy version of Today. It's like the edgy Mellon Collie version lol
PCM24 97 today is frm the siamese Dream record. Not Mellon collie tho
@@delvindpenha3204 They're referring to the live version in the video which was played more in a MCIS style than SD which the song is originally from.
@@ryline666 "in a MCIS style" ? why, just because the song is being played 2x faster than on the album? haha.
I just noticed Darcy had a nose job
i don't think she did, at least never during her time w the band.
billy was so cute:)
real
No es mi amiga 😬😬
Kennedy is master of cringe.
She ain't got nothing o that Louis dude, wow
