This guys try to cover up the fact that their game is technically bad by focusing on answering to the minority of toxic players and pretending that the bad reception is due to "social climate" . The many technical problems of this game are clearly the result of laziness, lack of talent, and greed. The game doesn't even look like it was released recently. It's a spit on the face of the players, an attempt at a quick cash grab that ended up poorly. Which wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't for the fact that they did it with a beloved franchise....
I think the biggest thing for me that sets these groups of characters apart is the og cast didn't feel forced. It didn't feel like Johnny was asian just to check a box, where as Kevin feels like a forced addition from his personality to his sexuality that they felt the need to put in there just feels fake and forced. Honestly it feels the same way with the the Urkel looking dude whose name I can't remember. Nina doesn't feel as forced as the other 2, but still feels like they were trying too hard. In SR2 I never found myself asking why any of the characters existed, they just felt natural.
Neenah is the most fleshed out character and that isn't saying much. These characters could have worked if the boss was like the boss in the original Saints Row
@@theoutsiderjess1869 Well if we have to be reminded 10 different times that she likes cars, and that her boss likes cars. I feel like they forgot the lesson SRTT tried to teach about selling out and getting back to your roots. Maybe its an unintended 'hindsight is 20/20' situation.
I see this happen too much. A beloved franchise is changed for an audience who don't buy their products, and it ultimately fails, screwing over the fans and the people who created it. It happened to Battlefield, it's happened to Saints Row and it will probably happen to more games in the future.
I find it funny that GTA IV also cost around 100Million$ to develop, so it’s not like Volition didn’t have the budget they needed to develop a good game
They spent $100M for a game that looks like it had a $5M budget? They might aswell try something new since they can't make a real gangster game. Just a shame they went for this and not a legal version of SR2 but with diffrent characters...

"We have therefore increased management focus and efforts to optimize investments and efficiency across the group even further." As sad as it is to say, the Saints Row series is dead. For some it probably died with Saints Row The Third or IV, but at least they can't be called the worst in the series anymore.
I have to admit Pro you were dead on about this one. I had hopes they might, you know, actually write a credible script or do some interesting gameplay or at least have funny weapons but every video I watch of this game is a real horror show. I'm used to games with black or brown femme protagonists getting labeled auto fail by keyboard warriors when they're actually pretty good so I wanted to give this boot the benefit of the doubt but I cannot see myself buying the product ever. It's a total shame because what I've played of the series was sweet. Wasted money and ideas here. Let's hope someday a team will remake the first two and we can get some proper gangsta vibes back in the mix.
This clearly goes to show how out of touch some of these developers are they are in such a secluded bubble because no normal person in their right mind would of thought this was gonna be a success.
I don’t think Steph will be with volition once gearbox begins management lol they’re gonna look into her and think “we cannot have someone who addresses potential customers like this.”
What a wasted and terrible way to reboot saints row. And honestly if saints row reboot doesn't exist we would've gotten a saints row 1 and 2 remake. Saints row deserves better.
So let me understand this. They rebooted a franchise, abandoned everything about the franchise that the fanbase enjoyed, and added a bunch of PC and woke elements and they can't figure out why it flopped? These people are out of touch with reality.
I'm pretty sure that a large portion of their spendings was on their Custom Engine. They've decided to use their own Engine instead of licensing something from other developers, even though they are using an upgraded version of their AoM engine, it's still really expensive to expand and maintain.

They should've just Remastered Saints Row 2. As much as I'll admit I enjoyed some of the reboot the gave overall was not good. Things like the new environment, the ability to grow the gang similar to OG SR and SR2 and the vast amounts of activities and side quests were interesting. But things like the lackluster customization for weapons and your character and the really bad storyline greatly affected it (I spent about 10 to 12 hours just getting the stinkin tower.....) And they didn't even bring back Johnny Gat.... I will say that when SR3 Remastered came out I understand they had to do that one cause they lost the OG files for SR2 but that game had probably a bit less than what the reboot did but certainly made up for it with a great story and amazing customization. Also me imagining this scenario is 1000x more funnier than literally anything in the reboot game.
I chuckled imagining the scenario too!
You're now hired as a writer for my upcoming Saints Row competitor 😂🤜🤛
I really want to read this now! Please write it!
Damn that johnny gat vs kevin as a character was so one sided😂 gat really has some iconic scenes i fucking love the old saints row
If i ever seen Johnny Gat i would run away whereas if i knew kevin i’d bully him. Just shows how much the saints have fallen
It's like comparing Max from Life is Strange to Cirilla from The Witcher. Like WTF?
The worst thing I think the game done was just making gunplay an absolute chore. However after killing enemies you can't pick their weapons and stock up on ammo. What?
Volition should've kept the reboot in the oven more & not only that: not even decide this idea of making some nonsensical ragebait for what saints row reboot have these stupid & dogcrap characters, futuristic guns (no, this should stop being in saints row because literally there's ways to make games still work well with only bullet projectile weapons & possibly atleast be able to make funny / goofy weapons fit in. Volition should've thought of making actual humor instead of managing to have ironic self awareness about the "it just works" - by todd Howard, oh yea, literally they should've added gore in saint row reboot.
Edit: m bad if it seems like it is directed at the OP, I did not mean it to be that way especially me just rambling / ranting off topic
@@anihilisticmisanthrope It's okay. I can understand your frustrations against the game.
@@allstargaming2500 alright.

😂😂 these companies never listen until it’s too late.
Whenever I see "Rebooting for Modern Audiences" I know it's gonna be trash. Not because its woke (that's 1 part) but because it's half ass fan fiction by the creator. The creator thinks they know what's best for fans when they themselves have no idea about the IP.
At least Modern Warfare got the right idea of how to Reboot their series: by maintaining the modern and gritty feeling of war.
@Yeet King Yeah, that is still a problem. DMZ is kinda good, so far.

Those devs don't deserve to work in the industry. I really hope they lose their jobs. I am so tired of those devs with a god complex and no consideration for their fan base.
The devs were doing what they were paid to do.
None of "those people" deserve to be in the industry, they should've stayed at Twitter and working for whatever coffee shop they like
Don't worry, it's already been confirmed some of them will :)
@@2007ghettonissanaltima They were not paid to trash talk their own fanbase, that was a choice of their own free will. They chose to do that.
@@2007ghettonissanaltima That's a sad excuse to justify the attitude that so many devs have after messing a franchise lately.
"I'm yellow enough as it is, Dex." - Johnny Gat, Saints Row 1.
Great comment
Neenah has such a bland personality, that its the only way she wouldn't feel forced.
@@theoutsiderjess1869 Well if we have to be reminded 10 different times that she likes cars, and that her boss likes cars. But Volition said the older games held them back from such creativity, yet their characters have like 1 word bullet point personalities. She also doesn't act like she actually came out of another gang. They're all terrible.
"Haters gonna hate" Yeah, how is that working out for you now Volition.
Hi
So glad to hear your take on this!
Crazy how shocked they are What did they expect was going to happen and the worst thing was calling out fans calling them names.
If this doesn’t kill Volition, then I don’t know what will.
This is what happens when you think expectations will be subverted, even though they really don't.
$100 Mil???? Im surprised Volition had that kind of money. I smell money laundering.
When the game got revealed I thought that whole hipster thing was going to be a gag and then reveal the real Saints 😢
Damn you're smarter than they are, you are a marketing genius !
No bc I thought the same😭
100 million? Jeez, definitely laundering some money over there
They spent $100M for a game that looks like it had a $5M budget? They might aswell try something new since they can't make a real gangster game. Just a shame they went for this and not a legal version of SR2 but with diffrent characters...
Look at Twatter, 50% got laid off and the site still working... They built a game for themselves, not for the customers.
I totally forgot about the community manager claiming that Kevin was the better character than Johnny, Kevin, the character she likes so much just wants to buy toys and a waffle maker and thinks being shirtless gives him powers or some crap. Yet she thinks we hated GOOH because of Gat? We hated it because we didnt want a stupid Disney parody nobody asked form featuring Gat.
I just love Profesional's face in the thumbnail for his Saints Row review. It's just a look of "What am I doing with my life?"
I never thought the game that would turn me into something else, have a giant budget and come out as being underrated and lacking originality
Thanks pro
"The financial report goes on to suggest a stricter funding policy needs to be implemented. "We have therefore increased management focus and efforts to optimize investments and efficiency across the group even further."
One particular sentence in the report sums up the company’s new approach for new titles: "each project has to earn its right to exist." The future of Saints Row is in jeopardy given the new strategy.
The report adds, "We will increase our efforts to put quality first even further, and make sure we create unique positive player experiences."
which means instead of admitting we should have listened to players we will instead blame everything else.
Was so looking forward to seeing your reaction to this. To be honest, this game definitely didnt feel like it had 100$ million. Didnt even feel like 10$ million.
Terrible saints row game i have ever played.
They should've made it like Saints Row II instead.
I agree
or release the sr2 pc patch
One of my favorite Gat moments was in the second when they were having Aisha’s funeral and they get interrupted by the Robin’s leader. Gat straight up tells him to leave, and to pick a time and place, because he wasn’t going to kill anyone at Aisha’s funeral.
This is what happens when go woke and insult the fans, you go broke.
EVERYONE warned them!!
I remember over a year before it came out their Twitter was riddled with people warning them it would flop terribly...they STILL stubbornly kept going full steam ahead. Moral of the story...LISTEN TO YOUR FANS!!!!!!
The fact that the Saint 2 clip made me laugh at the end without trying and SRreboot made me wanna click off the videos is crazy, but your reaction was hilarious 😂
As sad as it is to say, the Saints Row series is dead.
I don't think I'd even play this for free tbh.

Women like Steph are a nightmare with all respect.
We very shame on Volition and Rockstar.
Volition totally ruined Saints Row.
You gotta love Pro's Spongebob cold openings. I honestly didn't know SR Reboot was that bad.
Julius: Then I guess that makes us even.
Playa:. Not really.
I'm pretty sure that a large portion of their spendings was on their Custom Engine.
They've decided to use their own Engine instead of licensing something from other developers, even though they are using an upgraded version of their AoM engine, it's still really expensive to expand and maintain.
Hopefully this will be a valuable lesson for Volition... Let's hope 😐
Being of age and how to manage the sequence of returns in those early periods is what seems quite scary in the current market. The market is never a loser in a twenty year cycle, but the 2000s decade scenario scares me and could really disrupt my retirement. When you are no longer accumulating but withdrawing its hard to be anything but cautious.
Some investors look to their investments as a source of income while others use it is a means to grow or preserve their wealth.
For new investors, getting started can feel overwhelming. Risks loom large, and complicated, unfamiliar financial jargon can be intimidating.
I and my spouse are both retired with over $3 million in net worth and no debts. Currently living smart and frugal with our money. Bought my first £400,000 house. Success requires market knowledge and we made a very good choice adopting a financial advisor Caroline Renee Steiger.

Saying that Kevin is better than Gat is like betting that child would defeat gorilla on the ring. The gorilla would rip the kid in half. Litteraly.
It's like saying that Max from Life is Strange is better than Ciri from Witcher.
I gave it a shot on a free weekend. I played for about two hours and decided it wasn’t worth my time. I didn’t like the driving, the shooting, the enemies’ sponginess, and mainly, the gang members.
They didn’t listen to their fanbase and now they payed the consequences
I would like to know what exactly was the $100 million spent on? Marketing? Promotion? Because it doesn't show in game. Last generation graphics, extremely buggy visuals, dated mechanics, idiotic story, awful and unlikable characters and nothing resembling the old Saints Row games... And that cat... Unreal Engine resellable assets has better cats than Saints Row.

They should've just Remastered Saints Row 2.
As much as I'll admit I enjoyed some of the reboot the gave overall was not good. Things like the new environment, the ability to grow the gang similar to OG SR and SR2 and the vast amounts of activities and side quests were interesting. But things like the lackluster customization for weapons and your character and the really bad storyline greatly affected it (I spent about 10 to 12 hours just getting the stinkin tower.....)
And they didn't even bring back Johnny Gat....
I will say that when SR3 Remastered came out I understand they had to do that one cause they lost the OG files for SR2 but that game had probably a bit less than what the reboot did but certainly made up for it with a great story and amazing customization.
Summary: SR reboot sucks, give us SR2 Remastered and we *may* forgive Deep Silver and Volition for this game.
Edit: Also bring back Professor Genki
Not just 2, 1 also, put them on the same disc and call it: Saint's Row: The Stilwater Saga.

I'm glad this game exists, after all its a family friendly "gangster" game. Helps the 3 year olds get into open world crime games.
I will say, if they do another saints row game (and a good one) I hope they keep the execute to heal mechanic. Like the sr2 boss was scary and some badass executions would help cement that.
I’m currently playing through Saints Row 1, and it makes me further disappointed that they didn’t go back to the gang warfare.
