- Hello guys,
ÖBB and SNCF recently started their first cooperation.
The new Nightjet from Paris to Vienna. NJ 468 and NJ 469.
We managed to get on bord the third Nightjet from Paris to Vienna.
What can i say? It was amazing! Such a smooth ride, very clean compartment and a really friendly conductor.

Thanks for posting; very interesting/informative!! My favourite way to get from Paris to Vienna, however, is driving (through the northeast of France, the south of Germany, and the north of Austria, or the cities of Nancy, Strasbourg, Karlsruhe, Pforzheim, Stuttgart, Ulm, Augsburg, München, Salzburg, and Linz); in fact, it's my favourite drive throughout Europe!!
I really enjoyed your video. Love night trains, and this one looks very comfortable and tidy.
Beware of this Connection!! Absolutely unreliable! In 2022 jan-jun I Booked PAR VIE Four times and only once it worked three times I was informed by phone or email on the day of departure !! that the train was only available from Strasbourg or even from Mainz only. Had to take the plane. Got a refund, but this is a joke. They are unable to operativ this Train reliably on schedule.
its one of my dream to take a night train ! I was supposed to go to Vienna last October but ended up going to Venice instead and wanted to take the Thello night train but it was discontinued in july so i missed that chance... My trip to Austria has been pushed to this fall so hopefully I can catch this train instead !

While you were asleep there are passengers that use this between München Ost and Augsburg 30-45 minutes trip with this ÖBB1116 racing a Bahnland Bayern sticker DB BR146.2 Doppelstockwagen 781 786 766.2 DB BR440 RE9 RB86 Dinkelscherben Augsburg Hbf München Hbf services. In the end Nightjet wins because it using the fast tracks between München Pasing to Augsburg Hbf on LZB reaching 200 kmh 125 mph max speed. Branches Away from the regional trains on Donnersbergerbrücke then München Ost

Hi, thank you very much! The heat was good and much needed after a long cold day in Paris. You can regulate the heat for your compartment. At 6:24 you can see the controls for the heating and the speaker.

Hi John, in the deluxe compartments there are 3 beds. Some compartments have a connecting door.
So, technically it should be possible to have a 2-room compartment on the train. We had this on our Trenitalia night train form Milan to Palermo. That was great!

BTW, I saw an article saying that it is a common practice to give your passport and passes to the train staff so no need to disturbed you at night? Is it required? Coz TBH, I'm not comfortable on that kind of arrangement. May I know if you were required to do it? Thanks a lot!
Hi, thanks for your comment. No i never had to give my passport to the staff. Never saw border police on a night train on my trips. That may be required on non-eu cross border trips. I only can remember to SHOW my passport on the italian night trains.

What is the maximum speed? I am scared of the fast train and i want travel on this route with a normal train
The maximum is 230 km/h.

Unfortunately, the Nightjet can be quite expensive. Especially in the travel season.

We are looking to take this trip in April, but OBB website doesn't show this operating after March 2022! :(
You're right. I also don't see any availabilities from April. Bahn.de doesn't have any either. ÖBB is probably cautious due to the pandemic. Usually tickets are available 180 days in advance.

Seems it can be reserved again. I checked the other direction, Vienna to Paris for late Apríl 2022. However the prices seems to rise way up. Deluxe for two now slightly under 500€ 😳
@@BestHKisDLM Yes, sometimes it is very very expensive. You have to book as early as you can. I've got our deluxe compartment minutes before the official press release for 189 €.
