Monique, your absolutely right. It’s the most amazing experience ever having a sweet baby walking towards you. I had my first child when I was 34, and now he’s 24 and still says “ I love you more “ 🥺 but because he’s with the USMC we’re going on our 4th year not able to see each other for the holidays. My husband and I never had children. I couldn't carry. So, we have children that I'm looking forward to meeting one day in Heaven. ❤️ It's been a good full life and my nephews and nieces have benefited greatly but we also were able to bless so many ppl in so many ways that we would never have been able to do if we had been blessed with children. Still, I know that desire and I'm praying for God to bless you with healthy laughing children. Try not to worry about it. I know it's hard when others have babies and showers and so forth. Oh, that newborn baby smell still gets me and I'm 60 yrs old! Have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed and Happy New Year full of love and life, however that comes. God's very best to you. ❤️🙂🙏🙌

chickens, too! a calendar is a terrific idea!!! it would take into account the passing thru of the pets and others that we enjoy so much. a calendar wouldn't even have to focus on gardening because there would be plants everywhere anyway. maybe they will put the idea on their list to consider. it wouldn't even have to have notes on it, just a wall calendar and creature pictures!!!

We are long time gardeners but needed inspiration in our Garden which you have provided so much of. We are so excited to start our garden next year and have already purchased our seed. P.S, Samantha Grace is such a cutie and Benjamin is so adorable and helpful but I confess, that Russel is awesome when he wants your attention there is no stopping him, Lol. All this is what makes your show so wonderful to watch.
Samantha's excitement over Russell was everything!!! It looked like she tried to kiss him as he slid by. He was very tolerant of her affection but that kitty loves his mama. As a cat lover, this made my heart swell. Adding a note here, at the end when you mentioned finding an open tree, just know that it's possible to make your own with a real tree. I do so every year. When we go tree shopping, I look for one that's very full with somewhat even layers of branches. Then, when we get it home I get to work trimming it to my specifications, which are open layers with room to show off my ornaments. I've been collecting ornaments for almost fifty years, so I've had to develop a strategy to show them off to best advantage. I decorate my tree from the inside out, starting with lots of lights. Then, I place ornaments close to the trunk so it looks like there's a column of them, top to bottom. I continue placing ornaments all along the length of the branches, moving outward. By the time I'm done, most branches have at least five ornaments lining their length, and I still have some leftover. So, until you find an artificial tree to suit your taste, just know that with a little judicious trimming you can modify a real one. Be careful not to trim too much. It's hard to get started trimming but once you get going, you may find it all too easy to go too far. Ask me how I know. Your mantel is lovely. Merry Christmas! ~ Lisa

I have painted several fireplaces for clients to get the orange out but keeping the stone real. When I win the lottery to come spend a week in your garden, I can make the fireplace gray!

Although every year the mantle looks amazing, this year's is my favorite. It fits the uniqueness of your home perfectly. It is so welcoming and cozy. Love seeing them children playing and enjoying life. I miss the days of cars lined up in the living room. Time passes so fast, enjoy every minute of their youth.

Really took me back to the days when I had rug rats and pets running in and out and having to stop and explain something or help with something and totally losing my train of thought. Those little ones are in their late 50's now and all the grands are grown. Just so hard to believe it was that long ago.

I was explaining the beginning of this video to my husband…..Laura’s trying to decorate the mantle while Benjamin has ALL the cars, Samantha is mobile!!!! and chasing the cat, and her sister in law is over. 😀. We are empty nesters, and we both just smiled and said “that’s what Christmas is all about”. That kind of young family chaos is precious. My family laughs at me because I tear up so easily, and I am very sentimental. I just feel so blessed to have a life that includes them, and all the wonderful memories they’ve given me. Except painting bricks and stone is very bad for them and makes them deteriorate, they can’t breathe.
I’ve read comments of how beautiful little Samantha Grace looks just like you and I have to say she’s the spitting image of her big brother Benjamin write down to the facial expressions!
Thank you for sharing video of her as she begins to walk, it won’t be to long before she’s out in the garden helping you while Benjamin holds the camera. (I’ve heard his commentary while holding the camera and he’s excellent, maybe he’ll take care over for Aaron‘s next year!)

Although every year the mantle looks amazing, this year's is my favorite. It fits the uniqueness of your home perfectly. It is so welcoming and cozy. Love seeing them children playing and enjoying life. I miss the days of cars lined up in the living room. Time passes so fast, enjoy every minute of their youth.

One of the few post I had missed. Just watched to today. Really took me back to the days when I had rug rats and pets running in and out and having to stop and explain something or help with something and totally losing my train of thought. Those little ones are in their late 50's now and all the grands are grown. Just so hard to believe it was that long ago.

I was explaining the beginning of this video to my husband…..Laura’s trying to decorate the mantle while Benjamin has ALL the cars, Samantha is mobile!!!! and chasing the cat, and her sister in law is over. 😀. We are empty nesters, and we both just smiled and said “that’s what Christmas is all about”. That kind of young family chaos is precious. My family laughs at me because I tear up so easily, and I am very sentimental. I just feel so blessed to have a life that includes them, and all the wonderful memories they’ve given me. Grandin Road has "mantle" trees that are open. I have bought one in the past. Nice. Plus if you wanted to make it more bushy just adds some picks. Good luck They come in 2 sizes.
