Someone else may have commented on this, but the sunglasses are a joke because Neil Gaiman wears sunglasses all the time and this is not the first time they joked about it in a story he wrote. Of course Neil and Terry are the basis of the two main characters.
It took me a little while to get into this show, but damn, when it "clicked," it was SO GOOD. The episode that begins with the two main characters moving through history was AMAZING.
Thus recieved controversy for...making God a woman don't see anything wrong with that and the implications of both Crowley and the angel being a couple....it's a cool show/tv series!

I've never read anything by Neil Gaiman, but I've read every Discworld book, and you can definitely feel Terry's touch on this, this was a pretty good show and better than any of the discworld adaptations they've done. I know Neil basically did this for Terry, so I'm glad it turned out well.
Neil Gaiman is great; I only discovered his work through reading Good Omens (like you I was already a massive Pratchett fan and have read all the Discworld books), but I'm so glad I did. He covers a lot of similar themes and ideas to Pratchett but often with a darker, less humerous and irreverent tone, almost reminiscent of the horror genre at times. I have only read a handful of Gaiman’s books but would highly recommend American Gods and Sandman. To me Good Omens definitely feels more Pratchett than Gaiman; I chalk that up to Pratchett being the more experienced of the two when they wrote it.
@@robertwinslade3104 I'n the book they both give statements about their experience writing together and they agree that its about 60,000 words to Terry and 40,000 to Neil. Did this for Terry on the level of putting all his writing projects aside and just focused on getting the show produced in a way that would do Terry proud until it was done. Shows how much the friendship meant to him.
I'm excited for this, Good Omens is my favorite book and the show is SUCH a good adaptation of it. Also, Crowley doesn't really DO gender. While he's typically male presenting, there are a couple times in the show where she's female-presenting, like when she's being Nanny Ashtoreth.
The Snake is not identified as Satan in Genesis. That is a retcon in later stories. The stories originally did not have an anti-god; that duality of powers was picked up long after. The talking Donkey storry pisses me off because the donkey disappears after the reveal that the angel was sent to kill its master, implicating that the angel killed the donkey and spared the prophet. Fuck that. The donkey was the good, loyal friend in this and got nothing but beatings. Nothing as entertaining as the old testament though haha
the snake is actually never confirmed to have been satan in the bible itself. that idea comes from jesus calling the-dragon-called-satan in revelations "that old serpent". which, i mean, he's taking the form of a massive, planet-sized hydra-thing, calling him a serpent would be appropriate regardless, but it also doesn't imply satan is any particular serpent, just that he's old and a snake. "you snake" has been an insult for a very long time, after all.

The book is narrated by an all-seeing witch - Agnes Nutter. The full banae of the book is “Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch”. I’m going by the radio show on this one.
@@JaneXemylixa Yes! The 'TV series' is. The Radio version, and, as far as i know, the book it is based on, because the title of the book is “Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch”, is narrated by Agnes Nutter (played by Josie Lawrence both in the TV and radio series).
I think his story agrees a little more with Abaddona (Apolió), the repentant demon, he is known as the demon of death and is said to be the demon that makes people commit suicide. Supposedly, he still retains some appearance of an angel but his wings turned black, he is not allowed to enter heaven and he does not want to return to hell for what he spends his days on earth.
I love this show! So fun to watch David Tennant and Michael Sheen together! And i love the opening. I feel like it's got Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy vibes hahah
I don´t know if anyone mentioned that already but David Tennant actually wears these contact lenses almost everytime, even when he wears the sunglasses. Someone brightened up some scences (you can find the video on youtube, it´s called "too much brightness to see Crowleys eyes better" ) and you can clearly see the snakeeyes behind it.
I've been hoping to see you do Good Omens for months now, I'm so excited for this!!! It's an incredible, hellishly-good show, and also possibly the best book to show adaptations I've seen
Notice the car's plate is SID RAT which is backwards for....take your time lol. And the dog they got to play the hell hound bit David Tennant in the calf so they had to hold up while taking him to the hospital. He didn't want to stop; said he was fine as he bled through his clothes. Health and Safety on the set told him otherwise :-)
Terri Stevens - Mr. Young’s car, yes. The Bentley has NIAT RUC, curtain... Apparently it’s referring to “the final curtain” or the end of everything (although that’s not a parallel I’d draw on my own, but Gaiman has said so in an interview).
I love Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, and Good omens is one of my favorite books, they did such a good job with this series, I love their sense of humor and view of the world, I hope you enjoy.
I'm so glad you're watching such a fun show based on such an incredible book. This only gets better and better and I look forward to the next ep. :) (Also appreciate your comments about Michael doing such a great job. It's easy to get overshadowed by David but Michael holds his own so well.)
i was not expecting this at ALL but now it's the thing im most looking forward to, oh my god i hope you guys like this show, it is a great book adaptation and absolutely brilliant!
The book, if I remember correctly, kind of insinuates the third baby became Adam's childhood nemesis, Greasy Johnson (who does not make an appearance in the series, so no spoilers), but that could have been my brain just doing that on its own too. Aziraphale's name is Aziraphale. He never changed it. Azrael is the angel of death, so doesn't really fit his personality. The book also mentions that angels and demons both have wings, and that demons are a little better at grooming theirs.
Glad someone else noticed this and commented. I played back their most recent in-studio reaction to compare. At my normal levels, I can hear their discussion just fine on the studio stuff but these are so quiet I had to crank my volume to max just to understand the guys. Maybe the editor can boost their voices a bit?
We were lucky Neil wrote and was show runner. It was Terry's dying wish that it get made. Neil said after the funeral he started writing. Michael was in the Underworld as the main bad guy werewolf, he was Tony Blair, former PM, Frost (Frost and Nixon) and recently Chris Tarrant Who Wants to be a millionaire scandal. April the first he changed his twitter to David Tennant. I've met David, but not had the chance to meet him.
Aziraphale is his angel name (a new name from Pratchett and Gaiman but perhaps inspired from some existing angel names like Azrifel--if I'm recalling that right). He calls himself "Mr. Fell" for humans. The bookstore is A.Z. Fell & co. or something like that. We find out what happened to the third baby in the book.
I'm so excited that you're doing Good Omens! I just watched it last week for the 4th time (never read the book). I don't have access to Prime as of today but at least it's fresh in my memory. I hope you guys really enjoy it! Thanks as always for the great content.
I'm really glad to see them reacting to this show and I hope it becomes a regular thing for them to watch other really short series that they can get through a lot of quickly. I love Hunter Hunter and the like but rotating through shows that can be done in a couple of months instead of a couple of years is a great way to keep things fresh. Good Omens is a pretty great adaption of the book, there are many things that I miss but there was no feasible way to include _everything_ I loved from the book.
Crowley's demon name is Crawley, I don't think his canon angel name was ever revealed. Azrael is the angel of Death, Aziraphale is the angel of the Eastern Gate and he never changed his name.

The book is narrated by an all-seeing witch - Agnes Nutter. The full banae of the book is “Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch”. I’m going by the radio show on this one.
Isn't it narrated by God Herself?
@@JaneXemylixa Yes! The 'TV series' is. The Radio version, and, as far as i know, the book it is based on, because the title of the book is “Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch”, is narrated by Agnes Nutter (played by Josie Lawrence both in the TV and radio series).
@@t123a698 Oh that's right, the radio play was! I remember now.
@@JaneXemylixa Ae! I was kind of disappointed that Agnes Nutter was such a small part of the TV show. She was quite fun and funny.
The radio show was narrated by Agnes, the book doesn't really personify the narrator.
Yes so excited for these reactions cant believe I'm this early. Its a brilliant show.
About Crowley's wings, there is a fan theory that before he was a demon he was the angel Raphael
Neil Gaiman said it was just a fan theory not canon.
@@selinapoochie I know it's not cannon but it's still an interesting theory
but we know who crowley was.
the serpent in the garden. he's crawly the snake.
@@Yal_Rathol Are you purposefully missing the point here?
Guys, you're gonna love this show.
When you realize the baby in the basket is literally Hell in a Handbasket, and when Dog shows up right after Adam names him: SPEAK OF THE DEVIL
I love this show! So fun to watch David Tennant and Michael Sheen together! And i love the opening. I feel like it's got Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy vibes hahah
Hi guys! I just met your channel (with this video). This duo are two sweet puppies. I can't wait for S3. Greetings from Spain.
WAIT WHAT! YES! FINALLY!
This is a pleasant surprise! I love the book and the series and I hope you love this too. Sheen and Tennant’s chemistry is incredible!!
i have waited for this for so long!!! thank you guys so much for finally getting to this series!!
I binge watched every episode on a transatlantic flight whilst getting drunk on red wine ;D
This sounds like a big mood!
@@pelo4040 I think it was very in the spirit of things. And it's not my fault that planes are too cold to sleep on.
Crowley would have been proud!
Is your point Dolphins?
Yes I love this show. Glad you guys are reacting to this
I don´t know if anyone mentioned that already but David Tennant actually wears these contact lenses almost everytime, even when he wears the sunglasses. Someone brightened up some scences (you can find the video on youtube, it´s called "too much brightness to see Crowleys eyes better" ) and you can clearly see the snakeeyes behind it.
Blind Wave watches the best book to screen adaptation ever? One of my favorite books? Yes! I'm in!
Best book to screen adaptation is the 1995 Pride and Prejudice series but point stands; it's a bloody great show!
I've been hoping to see you do Good Omens for months now, I'm so excited for this!!! It's an incredible, hellishly-good show, and also possibly the best book to show adaptations I've seen
YESSSSSS!!! I was waiting for this day!
A amazing story! Book and show!!! Hope you guys enjoy it as much as the fandom did.
oh MAN I was not expecting this, hell yeah!! I absolutely adore both the book and the show, so I can't wait to see what y'all think of it!
Hell yes! Loved this series
When I saw this reaction was up I jumped up and shouted. I'm seriously so excited.
FINALLY!!! Love you guys and thank u
I'm so glad you're watching such a fun show based on such an incredible book. This only gets better and better and I look forward to the next ep. :) (Also appreciate your comments about Michael doing such a great job. It's easy to get overshadowed by David but Michael holds his own so well.)
Can’t wait for this! Those two are amazing together! Such a great show!
yesss! I've been hoping you guys would do this show at some point!!
Such an amazing (and hilarious) mini-series! I’m very glad you are reacting to it.
This show was the highlight of my YEAR.
YES!! it's a pretty fun show I'm so excited!!
I am so unbelievably stoked to see you all reacting to Good Omens, I adore it! Hope you're all doing well :)
i was not expecting this at ALL but now it's the thing im most looking forward to, oh my god i hope you guys like this show, it is a great book adaptation and absolutely brilliant!
I love this show! So glad that you're reviewing it.
AAAAHHHH I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS ARE REACTING TO THIS IM SO HAPPYYYY
Do season 2
Yes yes yes
The book, if I remember correctly, kind of insinuates the third baby became Adam's childhood nemesis, Greasy Johnson (who does not make an appearance in the series, so no spoilers), but that could have been my brain just doing that on its own too. Aziraphale's name is Aziraphale. He never changed it. Azrael is the angel of death, so doesn't really fit his personality. The book also mentions that angels and demons both have wings, and that demons are a little better at grooming theirs.
I remember finding this and thoroughly enjoying it. One of those shows you didn't expect but only ever want more of.
amazing, this is one of my fav books and authors in the world and i lovedd the show. so happy you're doing this :)
Can not wait for you guys to see episode 3 it's my personal favorite. Wont give anything away but it's just a lot of fun.
plssss give us season 2 !!
Audio for these home reactions are way too quiet. My audio's maxed out, and they're barely passable.
Glad someone else noticed this and commented. I played back their most recent in-studio reaction to compare. At my normal levels, I can hear their discussion just fine on the studio stuff but these are so quiet I had to crank my volume to max just to understand the guys. Maybe the editor can boost their voices a bit?
I'm so happy that you're watching this show! It's amazing! Enjoy!
Awwww yaaaay! Had no idea they'd be reacting to this. It's a great show.
So glad you guys are finally watching this. Loved the show and this is the perfect excuse for a rewatch
Yay! I love this show. So glad you guys are watching it. And definitely read the book afterwards.
I’m so excited you’re watching this.
Huh. Rick had a Discworld tabletop game right behind him and didn't even mention it...
ive been watching your channel for a long time! i cant wait to see you guys react to this show
yeeesssss!! this show is amazing
I was so waiting for this!!!
I was waiting for this for so long!
Just wanted to point out that the band Savage Garden named itself after a quote from the vampire Lestat describing the earth like that.
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one
I agree
OH HELL YES!!! I'm so excited for you to react to this!!!
These remote reactions are so chill im liking em and David Tenet is great in all he does I love him as the 10th Dr. and Kilgraive best
Me being chilled in quarantine. Sees this video: BLIND WAVE IS DOING GOOD OMENS .
YOOOOO this show is freaking perfect. It's like Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, but with apocalypse stuff :D
I'm so happy you react to this show!
I’m currently reading good omens
IM SO GLAD YOU'RE FINALLY REACTING TO THIS SHOW. HECK YEAH
Crowley's demon name is Crawley, I don't think his canon angel name was ever revealed.
Azrael is the angel of Death, Aziraphale is the angel of the Eastern Gate and he never changed his name.
OMG My wife and I loved this series. I'm glad you guys picked it to react. Great series.
season 2 please
Wooohooo!! YES ! YES! YES! You react to Good Omens! Buckle up, its gonna be a great ride :)
Can't wait until you guys watch season 2

Yes! I'm so happy! Y'all are in for one wild ride!
