    Do you ever use the centring pins on your front wheels. Even though there hub piloted there not centered. I got three of them. put them in. Then tighten wheel. Then take them out. A old tire guy that’s changing truck tires for fifty years told me about them. There not that expensive. He also has a tool he made. It’s a wheel on a good sized electric motor. Pushes up against your tire. Runs it to about 60 mph. Sometimes he said you can get a brand new tire out of round. He said a good tire and rim. Shouldn’t need any balance weights etc on it. I been running 11245 Michelins for last ten years. Never had to balance any of them. That’s good you found yours out of round. That’s hard on everything. Take care. Enjoy your videos. You are never to old to learn new things. Keep the shows coming. Need more flip flop stories.

      No your right I loaded a coil in riverside Illinois last week. Don’t haul coils very much. I used some of your knowledge when I loaded it Wednesday. Loaded out of Cleveland cliffs. Good place. Have you ever been there. Didn’t have to tarp. Loaded with a big forklift. Take care.

    I've had better luck with Continental over Bridgestone onnmt t680. Plus, it's a little cheaper also.

    When I was in school on one of the training drives going 55-60 suddenly the left front started slamming around like a bunny on crack-I was sure the steer was shredding.
    I look over at the instructor, a 2M miler and he’s just looking back at me like...’what?’
    Suddenly as it started it stopped. When I started taking oxygen again I said what the bloody bleepin heck was that?
    He said it was the spray in balancer crap his brother used, sometimes it broke loose like a tennis ball in the dryer.
    That was enough. I’d hate to actually lose a steer.
    Sucks they’re that $$.....

      I don’t have that spray in stuff. These are actually wheel balancer‘s that mount between the hub and the rim, don’t know if they actually work or not and I’m actually going to go check them out tomorrow, they may or may not go back on the truck

    That tire would be made for those bridges that use the prestressed concrete beams... bouncy bouncy all the way across. Time it right to cancel it out! Great that you have a simple way to check it.

    My question is what causes them to be out of round? I’ve changed one before due to being out of round but I’d assume there’s a suspension/steering component to blame.

    • @sturgelltruckingllc4074
      @sturgelltruckingllc4074  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe, but it could be anything, a defect in the manufacturing, hitting a bad pothole at the right angle damaging the steel cords, causing it to go out around. …..The possibilities are so many it would be impossible to determine what actually caused your tire to go out around.

    Tire wasn't seated correctly at install. Tire is going around the same as the bead. When it's new you don't feel it. When it starts to wear you will. You can't fix it. Tire gets installed correctly or it comes off prematurely. I see it all the time from other Tech's

    When mounting truck tires look for the engraved mold bead to be concentric to the wheel’s edge . After replacing tires the inflating should be done in the horizontal position to 5 lbs. before setting into a tire cage to full inflation . The weight of the wheel may cause the tire bead to fold in the vertical position .

      They came on the truck but most truckstops sell them. I don’t know if they’re actually any good but when they take the wheels off the truck tomorrow I’m gonna give them a look over and they may or may not go back on.
