adamthewoo this is fantastic! I know you have touched on this film before in the daily woo, but well worth a full vlog! And the return of ‘join me, shall you?’ Most majestic start to 2018!
Realizing that this video took months to film, all while filming content for other videos, you did a really good job seamlessly putting everything together. Good job Adam!
I'll always remember that tuesday afternoon in the summer of 1994 when I was feeling sad and for no particular reason I decide to go to the movies. I saw that movie and I was alone in the theater... A private viewing of one of the greatest movie I ever saw to this day... I remember staying on my seat after the credits and everything as if I didn't want it to end... I came out of the theater with a different mindset and that, for the rest of my life so far.... In 2015, I checked a spot on my bucket list... Went down from my hometown of Montreal Canada to Savannah, GA to sit on a bench in Chippewa Square and eat a chocolate.... Thank you for that video Adam! Wow!
I'm so happy to see you returning to this channel, your original channel. The content you create and put on here is very high quality and entertaining. I wish I could give this video more than one like. Thanks for making this. *XD*
Thank you so much . I'm trying to find a balance between huge projects like this and the simpler vlog type stuff that others are interested In. It's coming together slowly
Wow! Such a great idea, Adam! I do indeed love these videos! I love seeing these locations, and Forrest Gump is one of my favorite movies of all time! 👍👍
savages48 Sure did! He looks good! Thanks for watching our latest video. It was a great year. Tim and Adam are both featured in our Best of Live Streaming Video. It was amazing to meet them both! 😀😀
I've always loved this movie... Always breaks my heart when he sees his son there watching TV. And when visiting Jenny's grave at the end. I tear up...
Spot on! I cry every time. That scene is even more moving once I became a father. Even more moving after I remarried & became the father to someone with special needs. True awesomeness! Side note Adams channels made me start a Instagram showing how great parenting someone with special needs is!!!
I really enjoyed this. If I could make one recommendation, have more split screens between the film and the location. Or, hold on the two of them a bit longer. Sometimes it feels as if you move on too quick. I have to pause or go back too often. Really love these videos, thanks so much for making them.
It was amazing when I went to US for the first time. Seeing so many places I've seen since I was born in movies and television shows was really nice. When I went to the Lincoln memorial at Washington DC, I was like: Well, isn't this the place where forrest gump gave his speech? I don't know, it was just amazing that I was actually there and that the place really exists. Now I look at this video and I say to myself: Wow, I was really there.
Fun fact: the house Forrest and his mom lived in was a movie prop that was also used in The Patriot with Mel Gibson, along with the run Forrest run road
glad to see your back Adam, I've been watching your channel for almost 7 years now and i'm glad to see your awesome videos again but i have a question, will your channels iconic intro return ?
I gotta give u credit man. I work in hospital through these tough times. And on my break I sit in car eat lunch and watch your videos. Great work man. 👍🏼. Keep it up.
Adam....one of the best TH-cam videos that you have ever produced. I have stepped foot in three of the filming locations but never nailed down the precise shot angles as you have so expertly done. Congratulations on a job well done.
I was looking up people associated with the movie who have Twitter accounts that we could possibly share this with. Robert Zemeckis does NOT apparently have one, but I found a few that do: Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson, Sally Field, Haley Joel Osmont, Hanna Hall (young Jenny), Geoffrey Blake (Jenny's abusive boyfriend) and composer Alan Silvestri.
adamthewoo Hi Adam what about the movie Scream or Nightmare on elm Street, everyone else has been bested on not getting to the school basement in Nightmare, I figure you would make it tho 😎
Awesome video! My wife's father's tugboat was in that movie, it's the red boat tied up to the dock. Also, another location not mentioned during his cross country run....Forrest Gump Curve at Grandfather Mountain, NC.
Adam! I haven't read any comments on this, but I know we sincerely appreciate the work you have put into this video. Wonderful research, presented in a very accessible manner (I couldn't stop watching!), with some clever humor along the way. Way to go. Congratulations. I have been doing some road trips myself lately and I know how tedious getting to Monument Valley can be but it is TOTALLY worth it when you get there. Completely breathtaking, and you were able to get it with the perfect lighting. 10/10
Forrest Gump holds a very special place in my heart. It was also the very first film I watched all by myself in a movie theater. I was emotional back then when those credits first rolled, and I was unexpectedly emotional again today, after seeing this exceptionally well-made tribute. I mean, come on...Woo puts on the things and he says the lines and he runs past all the places...too much good show...Bravo. 👏👏👏Thank you.
The definitive Locations videos Adam, the best content I have seen. Next stop your own TV series...... Netflix are you reading this? Honestly, entertaining, interesting and a Historic piece of work before a lot of these things go or change forever. Well done, I just don't understand who would put a dislike... don't get it.
Omg Adam!!!! Loved this one!!! I was laughing so much at the end with the hair and beard!!! Honestly... your short films are becoming more and more detailed, always artistic and so you!!! Be proud of your work!! Incredibly talented dear sir!!! Adam your videos are like the fruit of the youtube sea......You can watch them while you are barbecuing, baking out in the sun, with or without a box of chocolates.... I love to have watched your transition since the 1st video I ever saw of you and started watching...out in the wetland outer forest by Disneyworld... I cried and cried for what had transpired....yet you continued on...and when it was time to stop....running, you stood there with pride and stated that you were done.....quitting the daily vlogs... again I cried, took quite a long time to stop checking the channel every single day as I always had done for so long...when I realised in my heart that you were doing what was best for you, and that you were happy...so was I. Keep on trucker hatting ..... I can hardly wait to see what's next.... 1980s combo of pretty in pink, Ferris....breakfast club? Thank you again for your commitment to your content...to thine own self be true 💕
Great job Adam! I absolutely love the filming location stuff. I always amazes me how you're able to find these locations and know so much detail about them. Thanks for the excellent work!
Love this vlog! I live in Flagstaff and when my family heard Tom Hanks was filming here downtown we went and saw him! We barely recognized him since he had that long beard but it was him! It was an awesome experience! So glad you had the Arizona locations in this video!
If this is what we can expect from you in 2018, it's going to be a great year indeed! Fantastic job Adam! One of the greatest movies ever made. Happy new year! 🎆🎉🍾🥂
Great job as always! As you showed your composition book again in this video - I thought maybe a future vlog channel post can be about how you pre-plan for these epic adventures. Like ' behind the 'WOO-vie magic' :-) Happy New Year!
Thanks Adam. Awesome video as always. Stay safe be happy. Always know your true family here online Definitely love and supports you always. Never listen to the negativity
adamthewoo well I loved that video so i had to make sure you k knew it. Thank you for taking the time to make it. I'm also really happy you responded and like my comment as well so double thanks and keep up the awesome work. 👍😎
They did a major overhaul on the Reflecting Pool since the movie. Took a trip to DC in 2011 with the intention of getting some awesome night shots of it and it was completely torn up. it is now circulated water that drains to a tidal basin. The “pool” use to be uncirculated water that was stagnate. If they needed more water they would just add potable water. It often smelled horrendous as various birds would do their business in there. FYI!
I am one of your current subscribers the last few years and I went back and found this absolute gem! This was an amazing video you did here. You should’ve got a damn emmy award for this. The research to find and match up locations must have been exhausting! What an accurate diligent job you did! Thanks so much for all of your work, it’s greatly appreciated! G-d Bless you brother! I met you once in 2018 and said hello in magic kingdom near the train at the entrance to main st in Florida and I wouldn’t expect you to remember me, but I’m a fan of your channel. Wishing you much continued success....”shall you?”
Yes, but if you look back on his Chanel you will see where he goes to abandoned amusement parks and water parks and explores them, and that is what the whole video is focused on. I love his exploration videos!
I used to live in many of the locations used to shoot this movie. Adamthe woo, I do have to say you are NOT embelishishing anything I've seen in this video. You've done an excellent job. I've personally been to many of these locations, and even had my hair cut in that barber shop in Varnville. I have been watching your videos of abandoned buildings for a long time, and, even after this, I can say your information is accurate. I've eaten in that restaurant in Savannah where "Jenny" worked many times. In fact, I think I've sat at that table where the TV was. Not deliberately, of course....but, because I like to sit near a window when I eat. I used to live about 3 blocks from the "barber shop" in Varnville, and recognize some of the landmarks in Varnville. I now live about 20 miles from there. The school was "Hampton Street Elementary" in Walterboro, SC. It is on the National Register of Historic Places, and continues to be renovated even to this day. I've seen many plays in the auditorium, and, trust me, they are not shy about pointing out the water fountains in that hallway! Thank you for being honest in your reviews and in your exploration. I've seen many tour guides in Savannah take liberties with "history" and embellishing their stories. You ware not even from this neck of the woods, and you did a WONDERFUL job. I can't thank you enough.
@@wdharvey1 hey, LiveOkie is hilarious! Don't diss him. He's got his own show ;) But seriously I agree with you, this Adam guy does his research. I like how he shows the detail shots to show it's the same exact spot.
@@nmarbletoe8210 I dont' care if LiveOkie has crabs, I'm sure not going to piss on him if he's on fire trying to burn them...But, yes, I do live in the area where Forest Gump, The Great Santini, Radio, Ace Ventura When nature calls (yeah, that's a bragging point), The Big Chill, Full Metal Jacket...the list goes on....so, it makes me only wondery why LiveOkie is so insecure...is it lack of intelligence or lack of self esteem, or just a general lack, in general..........
@LiveOkie OH...and I"VE been an extra in many of these movies, I"VE been asked for call-backs, I"VE also been a fluffer in a few porno's! THEY asked ME to come back off cam...funny thing, man..I"VE got a lot more experience than YOUR entitled ass, so, I"VE got some stories to tell that YOU will not pay attention to...SO, even though N Marbletoe tried to "come to YOUR rescue" since, I wasn't even talking about YOU, why do YOU think YOU are more important than ME...because, in YOUR sentence, the biggest work you could use was YOU mad NO point, and YOU are actually an entitled BEYATCH that no one wants to hear from anyway. So, YOU go stick YOUR head in a bucket of water, and YOU please, take YOURSELF a very long deep breath. YOU call me when YOU wake up. See, I can make it all about YOU very easily.
@@chuckfan1 Not funny to you. Maybe I over reacted writing my comment but I did literally laugh out loud. So, in the moment it was funny to me. I don't know why but it was
All I know is that I love the way you do this, These moments you help recreate is the coolest thing ever. Thank you for all the research you have done.
I watch a LOT of TH-cam videos and this, hands down, is the single best thing I have ever seen on TH-cam in the 12 years I've been watching. THANK YOU for this, From the bottom of my heart. I had tears in my eyes from joy and sadness just seeing the test of time on the filming locations from my favorite movie of all time. I saw Forrest Gump in theaters when I was just 8 years old and each time I watch it it means something new and different to me. I know this couldn't have been easy but it was absolutely breath taking. Thank you again!!
SUPER job, as usual, Adam. Wishing you the happiest New Year ever. I look forward to everything you share with us. WOW... all the background prep for this...!!!
Most people will never understand how seeing a meter box or holes left on a curb by the crew or and old ramps demise would be in any way exciting but I will never get enough of it.
28:07 that’s me in that 73’ Ford F-250 which I still have and I have still have that license plate and that bumper sticker I still have the license plate on my truck and I can’t believe I got asked to use my truck in a film and I enjoyed it and I never got rid of my 1973 Ford F-250 people come up to me and ask that looks like the truck from Forrest Gump and I tell them it is and I show them the bumper sticker and they laugh
Living my life vicariously through you! Amazing video Adam, thank you. The Forrest Gump soundtrack was the soundtrack for my wedding, to my Jenny!! It’s our favourite film of all time. Cannot thank you enough! Take a bow sir....you win the internet. Would do anything to visit one of those locations, would mean so much to my wife. THANK YOU!
Growing up and still living in England , I was mesmerized and totally fascinated even more now I'm older by the US of A. The landscapes, the towns, the movies, the way of life I love it. I stumbled upon your videos last month, (which we are working our way through when we can) whilst researching days out in Southern California as we are coming over mid August for 3 weeks with the family to Anaheim for our holiday ( 8th time ) I have to say you are an inspiration to those that have the fortune to break free from life's monotonous churn. You have done and are doing all the things I dreamt of from being young...the zany magical adventuring like a real life Goonies film. To many it may seem one huge holiday but I can appreciate the long days and nights and uncertainty of your travels but by the heck they are truly superb ! If I could stitch your vlogs together into one huge edit it would be the greatest and most entertaining movie ever made ! Defo going Bubba Gumps on our 1st night in Anaheim to celebrate this "majestic" video and I'll wear your T shirt ( the one that looks like a Mike Judge sketch from Beavis n' Butthead, it's awesome LOL ) to spread the love ! Join me ? Shall You ? All the best m8 ;)
Yeaaah! I would have never found the spots he found even if you told me they were right there.. and this is probably the movie I've seen the most times in my life!!
I doubt you'll see this, but, I just discovered this video today. Forrest Gump is probably my all time favorite movie. You did a fantastic job presenting all these places. It makes me want to take a road trip so bad. Thank you for sharing.

@LiveOkie I'm wondering why you thought it necessary to even reply. Shut the fuck up, bitch.
14:05 LMFAO! "Either that or, she's not very tall." 😂😂😂
Relax, wasnt THAT funny
@@chuckfan1 Not funny to you. Maybe I over reacted writing my comment but I did literally laugh out loud. So, in the moment it was funny to me. I don't know why but it was
This is great, Adam! Running with ya!
All I know is that I love the way you do this, These moments you help recreate is the coolest thing ever. Thank you for all the research you have done.
Wow.. Thanks for finding all these locations.
Some running shots, the run in the gym shorts was on the Blue Ridge Parkway as was the run up the hill. That was Grandfather Mountain in NC.
You are so lucky to get to do what you love.
Adam this is exquisite work! Love the research and the tongue-in-cheek humor...!
superbly done. Thank you I enjoy your work.
Adam I need more of your zany journey’s!
Been to one of the places you didn't do....the mountain road with the bend with runners chasing him. Cool video.
The production quality that went into this video rivals the film itself. Nice work, and thanks for visiting these places and documenting them for us!
Awesome job Adam! This is some real dedication to the movie. My favorite vlog of yours by far.
Brilliant job Adam this can be on the next DVD as an extra 😁

Aloha MD He Celebrates in February 🐉🈲
Adam, You are the BEST!! 👍Love all your videos 😍 Looking forward to more in 2018 ✌️
What a great work!!! Thank U very much from Europe :-*
Most people will never understand how seeing a meter box or holes left on a curb by the crew or and old ramps demise would be in any way exciting but I will never get enough of it.
Wow, that was truly remarkable!! The time, travel, and everything involved to piece together this gem is astounding. WOOHOO!!
You missed the Gump curve at Grandfather Mountain
What an awesome shot at Monument Valley! How did you convince God to cooperate like that?
There’s only one Woo.
Yeah, and his name is Ric Flair~ WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!~
You got that right. Theres only one Woo, Woos dimsum house!!!!
The pictures toward the end, the sun rays shining through the clouds, were so beautiful it made me emotional. Thank you for this awesome video!
Fantastic work. It does mystify why people change or demolish things from such legendary movies.
I know!!! Drives me nuts too!!
Breaking bad locations next? 👌
Another awesome video Adam!
Thanks Kyle
Ahh, you replied! I mentioned you in my last video (dares at epcot video)!
Wow what a fantastic insight to one of my all time favorite films, thanks for that adam, happy new year from across the pond :)
28:07 that’s me in that 73’ Ford F-250 which I still have and I have still have that license plate and that bumper sticker I still have the license plate on my truck and I can’t believe I got asked to use my truck in a film and I enjoyed it and I never got rid of my 1973 Ford F-250 people come up to me and ask that looks like the truck from Forrest Gump and I tell them it is and I show them the bumper sticker and they laugh
cohen Van Cleef did the truck get a huge dent in the side or was it special effects ?
bg01 the truck still has a dent on it and they let me keep the Gran Torino sedan that hit me in the film
cohen Van Cleef wow a free gran Torino thrown in too ? Though it looks as though it took a hard hit in the collision.
Could you make a video about the car? Would be nice to see it
Patrik kinda my phone is little messed up
Living my life vicariously through you! THANK YOU!
Adam this was so frigging cool thanks Bro ....well done!!
My favorite flick.
It's a impressive film to say the least
Please do WAYNE'S WORLD movie locations Adam!
Awesome... Adam and Forrest Gump!
Growing up and still living in England , I was mesmerized and totally fascinated even more now I'm older by the US of A. The landscapes, the towns, the movies, the way of life I love it.
I stumbled upon your videos last month, (which we are working our way through when we can) whilst researching days out in Southern California as we are coming over mid August for 3 weeks with the family to Anaheim for our holiday ( 8th time )
I have to say you are an inspiration to those that have the fortune to break free from life's monotonous churn.
Join me ? Shall You ?
All the best m8 ;)
i love your videos so much and how the facts in these vids. Please never stop doing videos you are awesome!
26:25 Your good at finding exact matches
Your attention to detail is amazing.
Yeaaah! I would have never found the spots he found even if you told me they were right there.. and this is probably the movie I've seen the most times in my life!!
Great Video there was one scene were he ran the curved road that was filmed here in the North Carolina Blue Ridge on Grandfather Mountain
Was hoping that was going to be in there I've been there many times
Oh it’s gorgeous! Would’ve been hard to film... on foot at least
Now appropriately called "Forrest Gump Curve"
And Moses Cone house on the parkway. You sure missed out on a beautiful place. Born and raised here and I still won't cross that mile high Bridge 😂
I doubt you'll see this, but, I just discovered this video today. Forrest Gump is probably my all time favorite movie. You did a fantastic job presenting all these places. It makes me want to take a road trip so bad. Thank you for sharing.
By far one on my favorite projects you have do Every! Can’t wait to see more 👍👍👍
