@brocksampson3405 While he did mention how he was running for a very long time, he did also mention that he did stop running to eat, sleep, and use the bathroom (before he started running he must have taken a huge amount of money than ever with him from home just to eat at restaurants and check into hotels). Also yes, he must have felt rejected that Jenny left him as he was still sleeping and he did mention that the whole reason he was running to put the past behind him and move on in life and probably felt that he was running away from the past feeling that Jenny is now a past story of his and felt he wasn't going to see her again until one day she wrote a letter to him to come visit her in Georgia where she moved to. However, I'm sure Jenny didn't care to want to see Forrest again but, the only two reasons she called him from Alabama to Georgia is because she had a terrible sickness she was dying from and she and Forrest conceived a son whom she needed Forrest to take care of after she died which is another reason why she asked to marry him.

But on the other hand, right after things between him and Jenny turned out the way it did and he just went running. That was probably the only way he could express anger, sadness, frustration and possibly his way of venting.
Keep doing what you doing, and people will eventually follow you
For better or for worse, as history will show.
This ain't Forest Gump, this is straight up Pops from Regular Show!
Anyone else here after the real-life Forrest Gump, Russ Cook, completed his run across the entire length of Africa?
"For no particular reason" became a motto 😀
Can't tell me this ain't one of the greatest movies ever.
It's strange but it just never spoke to me. I'm pretty sentimental but something about it just never worked. Oh well...
@@haitolawrence5986ts just about doing something cause you feel like it and such you know. Just not having worries or anything and just “living” and experiencing life.
He felt like running so he ran then he stopped when he felt tired simple as.
You not supposed to feel any sort of emotion or take something away form it. Thats why it got so big. Which is why i find the fact you included the word sentimental to be just kinda wrong.

He never got tired or blisters, his shoes didnt break, always found a place to eat and sleep ,with no money on him.
Probably had credit cards since they were invented back in 1966. Or spent his left over change in his pockets wisely.
If he took off his shoes, he'd probably be fine. Humans used to hunt by running their prey into heat stroke, meaning we're built for the long haul. Blisters on our feet are from lack of necessity to be able to sprint across continental distances, but I'd imagine it'd still be doable.
Running on hot pavement or concrete is a different story entirely.
but he is rich
He’s a millionaire and credit cards are a thing…
Maybe at 5:20 what made him stop, was he saw officer Wintergreen dead in the middle of the road.
This is about me 2998 days... right now
This is basically the life of David Goggins, like, fairly accurate to how he is except the yelling.
Goggins must of loved this movie
The truck with the Shit Happens bumper sticker getting t-boned was just perfect
Looks like this man can carry the boats and the logs
Something incredible about the way he left was, when he was done, he gave other people the chance to go on their own runs in life
This scene hits pretty hard, sometimes we feel like running away like Gump
I only just figured out this but, He met the president, got the medal of honour, went to Vietnam, was a football player, a tennis champion, did cross country for 3 years, even came up with the classic “shit happens” slogan, had a successful shrimp business, and even got a job or share offer at Apple.
All of this and his mother died his love of his life died and his best friend bubba, it’s such a great movie and the best thing about it is, Forrest wasn’t even smart enough to realise what a life he’s had he just did it because he wanted to do and is humbled.
How long were you, um, working on that brilliant deduction?
at 3:18, this curve is located on grandfather mountain in north Carolina and it even is called the forest gump curve
The fact that this is a metaphor for "you cant out-run yourself" just shows how amazing this movie is😢
Its funny that Gump goes to vietnam as an enlisted soldier and ended up leading a national movement doing the exact same thing he did in vietnam. Runnin
"I'm pretty tired"
I’m training for a marathon, and I can assure you this is impressive.
It took Forrest 2 years to cross the US 2 times? According to Google Maps, it would take 34 days to walk from Savannah, Georgia to Santa Monica, California. Accounting for rest and pace, it should have taken him 10 months to cross the US twice.
Well they did say he crossed it twice and then kep running so they do not actually specify how much he actually ran, only how much time
One assumes he didn't take a direct route, he went all over the place.
He crossed Mississippi River 4 times. I believe he doesn’t have a proper route or even a map. he just wants to run
Forrest didn't have Google maps. And damn that's all it takes? That might be fun.
Taking an unoptimized route from coast to coast probably. I wonder how long it would take someone to run across America in a giant zig-zag pattern.
I swear but the scene of the corn fields 1:51 is just like the beautiful country roads between Springfield and Pekin Illinois - It looks just like it!!Beuatiful country raods there.
They probably built a city there
@@UncleTony2 some farmer must own that land, and if someone wanted to build a city there they'd have to buy it from the farmer.
This video gets a 10. It begins and ends perfectly. The middle is priceless!
He is still running, I just passed him on Trans Canada Highway, heading towards Cape Breton. He could be heading over to Newfoundland.
I love how he has all of those following him and decided I think I'm just gonna go home. God bless Tom Hanks he does so much good for our WW2 museum in New Orleans if you decide to go there I would recommend packing a lunch because you won't want to leave it actually makes you feel like you were there
i was homeless 35 years across 46 states, but I walked
How are you now?
@@eamonreidy9534 alive, and now I write about my impossible life, published online.

One of the best scenes from movies at all.
For all of my entrepreneurs, it took two years for people to notice him. And one initial follower that brought forth other followers .
Best part about the running sequence? The selection of songs in the film! PERFECT COMBINATION!
This movie is such an American classic.
Run Forrest run.
watch Lola rennt
It’s like a weird version of Jesus 😂. He just touches things and he blesses them, he has a huge crowd following him, 😂.
this man ran across 6.5 god damn states, roughly 1,600 miles 😭
I just felt like running.
Jenn-aye..... the biggest villian in ALL Hollywood productions.
What a masterpiece of a Movie ❤
This shows how our society works if you do something people dont expect they are surrounding you and asking for reasons and they wont stop until you do or you will give them a reason
The fact that this movie inspired a real life restaurant just goes to show how this scene made a million dollars at the box office.
This run was like my neighbor’s dad. He said his dad just wanted to buy milk one day but he ran away and still has not returned to this day.
Forest Gump formally known as Legs of Steal.
2:50 "i just felt like running" (famous words)
What magical movie.
Your dog who is well fed and loved seeing the door open 2 centimetres:
I always pause this video time to time to allow Forrest to rest.
As a runner,
I wish to one day have that level of stamina and passing.
Same. And sometimes I feel like I just need to physically run away from all my problems.
