This new release just inspired me to buy the original off Mercari. Natasha removed the most interesting shades. If she had released the exact OG colorstory in a midi, people would have gone feral for it.
I got the new palette and I’m not mad I got it, but realistically I could create the same eye look with most of what I already have. And everyone keep in mind that if two colors are very “similar” they are going to look exactly the same on the eyes. You’re not going to see the nuances you do in an arm swatch. But I still appreciate them!
Fun fact: when I worked at a craft store, there's a craft paint color called "Santa's Flesh" I am literally not kidding. For anyone interested, Santa is a fair/light cool tone, lotta pink undertones.
There’s something about the Gold palette that is much more pleasing to look at.. the black background, the variety of colors, it just feels so much more special than the new Golden palette. I don’t understand why they included SO MANY of the same shade in the new one either.. it would be more desirable, IMO, if they tried something out of the box but as it is, it doesn’t hold a candle to the original… even with all the original shades.
Not interested in this palette, but I'm impressed with the creators who can create very distint looks with it. Your looks are pretty unique for this seemingly one-note color story.
My OG Gold is old now…but it still performs well. I just couldn’t wait to have the updated shimmers so I got Golden. Oh, I love it!! I’m a light warm olive undertone and Golden is like the INAN for me. I like that there are some lighter mattes than in the OG Gold. I do wish she’d kept Lime Chrome because I love it, but it doesn’t go as much with the Golden vibe (and I still have Lime Chrome to use). The shimmers in Yucca are similar, too.
Such a comprehensive guide! Thanks for breaking down every detail of the Natasha Denona Golden Palette. Loving the in-depth review! Your swatches and application tips are so helpful
Definitely not a downgrade for those of us who never got the original. I feel like the Golden palette is the INAN for us warm toned girlies. I've been using it eveyday so far and love it! ❤
I love it and reach for it daily! It also looks amazing on blue eyed ladies.. I don’t understand why anyone is disappointed if they already have the old one and yucca has greens and mustards which seem like they would suffice, she also has a teal pencil available for those into more color
I agree! I am very warm toned and I still picked up INAN and I do love it but I can def see myself using EVERY shade in Golden whereas I won’t use all shades in INAN
Lauren - you absolutely gave the most in-depth review of this new ND palette. I so appreciate all the comparisons. I wasn't going to pick it up and watching your video just cemented my decision,
LAURENNNNN Idk how many times I've re-watched your gold palette review, it's so thorough and so good. I know I couldn't justify the $ for the gold palette but that doesn't stop me from having the fomo, so I keep rewatching that video and it makes me feel like a happy satisfied makeup gremlin listening to her friend who has all the tea and sparkles, if that makes sense? Anyways I don't think I can put into words how excited I am to watch this video! I was hoping you'd share your thoughts, you have such good takes and you're the ND expert! 💖✨
I might get the pallet once it goes on sale for like thanksgiving or something. Maybe… but that’s just because I love gold and don’t have the older one.
I am so happy that I purchased the Gold palette when Sephora released it for a hot minute at the end of 2021. My palette still has some life to her. She definitely is one of my favorites. I have an olive undertone. I adore my original Gold palette. I was simply hoping for a condensed version of my large Gold palette. Please, release the “Gold” palette, not the Golden palette, in the midi version at a later date. My large palette will eventually expire.
I have the original. I wish the shades of the new palette were all new, and the new one left out 3 of my absolute favorites: Limechrome, which is stunning, and the 2 teals, also gorgeous. For me to be tempted by this new palette it really needed something special to warrant repeating 9 shades I already have, and it just doesn't. The colors are all so similar that most of the eyelooks will look fairly similar as well. I'm gonna skip this launch
I have all of the midi palettes, and this fit the hole in my collection that I needed. For my skin tone, this is my perfect basic, everyday, neutral palette. I don’t have the original gold, so I think it would be interesting to see if you could recreate it with the golden, yucca, and any of the other midi palettes put together.
You are one of my fav beauty youtubers because of the fact that you compare all the palettes with existing ND palettes even though there isn't a colour comparison lol
I always love how thorough your Natasha Denona Reviews are! Thank you for all your hard work on these. It definitely helps when making purchasing decisions. Thank you Lauren!
I don’t have the original, but I get the impression that the Gold palette was a bit smoother in terms of mattes and punchier in terms of shine compared to the newer formulas. And those are the qualities that would've elevated this rather basic palette. Also, INAN and Golden both seem to be designed around fair to tan skin tones. Imagine if Natasha had added a deep wine burgundy here as a second deepening shade. It would've been stunning!
There’s 2 deep burgundy shades in My Dream and several in the Retro palette, the whole palette is burgundy/plum tones! her palettes tend to be monochromatic these days
@MakeupbySusieRichardson I have the Retro palette (which I love but feel is better paired with Glam than Golden), and have swatched the My Dream palette where the plum shades weren't quite as deep as they appeared in the pan. I was honestly hoping for something that would give a similar effect to the rich eggplant shades in the Bronze palette for the Golden palette.
I love this palette!! I’m so glad she kicked the greens and mustards to the curb because what was gold about them anyway lol and if you do want greens the exact ones (pretty much) are in yucca soooo
Lauren, your swatches are the first ones that I could truly see a difference in the tones. They are subtle but I could see it. I’m glad you did this comparison video! Eventually I will pick it up on a great sale, but I already have Gold so, I’m not in a rush.
Great neutral palette for those with warmer skin tones - but I agree with almost everyone else. It seems like most of the colors are too similar. I'd LOVE to see this palette on a deeper skin tone.
I wasn't sure but I am so GLAD I bought this palette. I use all mattes for work it's stunning and perfect. I started using all mattes in the glam palette as well OMG so good. Don't regret it it's worth it.
I have fair skin and blue eyes as well, so I look forward to your review and eye looks! I ordered this palette yesterday and am looking forward to getting it. Log looks great as a liner!
Great video 🎉🎉 I like the palette, but I think the Color Pop Golden Hour might be similar, so maybe I'll check it out. Am cutting back on all non essential things for awhile..
Saw it in person and it looks like an extended version of juvia’s place the warrior palette. Will be interesting to see how well this sells, because I feel like the average person who might not have repeats of these shades isn’t gonna want to drop $70+ Will probs pick up the highlighter palette on sale tho!
I’m not buying this one because yellowy golds don’t look great on me, but I’m always here for your Natasha Denona reviews! Your side by side comparison and close up swatches are the best
Thanks I thought it was pretty but I own the OG gold. Since it’s only neutral in the middi, I have loads of repeat from the OG and most of em look better from the OG I will happily pass on it !! This was very helpful.
Your ND collection is impressive!!! I miss my Purple Blue palette, one of the best palettes I’ve ever owned and I lost it somehow 🥲 the only older palette I have now is the Sunset palette
I like it, but I am super bummed (although not surprised) that she completely let go of the "twists" in the original. That is one of the main reasons it was so popular. If she would have put in the Lime shimmer, and the navy matte, I think it would be perfect!
I love your in-depth reviews Lauren! I love ND eyeshadow but I’ve been on a no buy the past 2-3yrs and now a low buy because I have sooo much makeup that’s going to waste because I just don’t apply it often. I was all set to purchase this basic neutral pallet and I’ve watched 5 other videos on it, and yours helped snap me out of it. .. lol. I have blue eyes and like warm tones, so this would be a no brainier but I do have biba and most all the midi pallets and many of her minis. Also not too big a fan of gold eyeshadow in general. I’m just a sucker for the neutrals. I think I’m gonna use this money to buy a pallet I’ve really wanted instead…Patrick Ta MD. I purchased the pinky one a couple weeks ago and haven’t even tried it yet. If I love it, imma grab that instead. I just got the ND My Dream pallet and the ND I need a nude pallet also due to my no buy. Thx so much!
Such a good in depth review! So helpful! It’s an easy pass for me because I have the OG gold palette, the brown 28 pan and the Yucca. Also so helpful you showed similar palettes. That sigma quad looks stunning and looks indeed like a mini version of the Golden, amazing! Would be a great travel palette🤩
I picked up the Beachy Palette from Sigma the 3 x 3 and Inlove their formula! I can overlook the cardboard packaging. I bought a Lancome palette at the same time and I just reach for the Sigma so much more.
Thank you for this very informative video! I think the palette is gorgeous, just too warm for me. (I have way too many palettes as it is right now anyhow.)🤗
I love your videos. Hello from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼. I have the Gold pallet but have ordered the new Golden and can’t wait to receive it. I think it will be a favorite for me, especially when traveling as I would never travel with the original Gold due to the packaging, I always worried it would get messed up.
As somebody who wasn't into makeup when the original came out, I'm glad they game out with the new one and put some of the old shades I got the new one. Tbh I feel like just doing a rerelease would have been better??? But I probably won't pick it up mainly for the ND pricing. I'll stick to my Colourpop
Thank you for providing such a comprehensive review!! It was fantastic. I have the old ND Gold palette, so I was really interested in the new golden palette to see if there were any formula changes and to have a palette in that size for travel. I think that I’m probably going to wait for a sell. I loved all your eye looks. Your eyeshadow aesthetic is really how I like to do my eyeshadow makeup. 😊😊x
Ooof thank you for this review! i’ve been debating selling my gold palette because I have that and metropolis and I hardly use either and I feel like I have to decide(both were bought during the last restock so they’re not old) at least I know I don’t want the new golden one lol anyway you are always awesome with detailed reviews so thankyou!!
If ND would re release the shades in the original gold palette but in a midi size I would consider buying it. After seeing the comparisons, I like the shades & textures/finishes of the original better. I just refuse to pay over $100 for an eyeshadow palette. As far as the new golden palette goes, I already have similar shades & can achieve similar looks with the neutrals I already own. So it wouldn't be adding anything to my repertoire 😊
I'd be happy with just the highlight palette and using that as eyeshadow with all the repeat shades in palettes nowadays...and buy the mattes individually
Honestly this new palette is everything I’ve wanted in an all in one palette for me. I missed out on the original gold palette so I’m so so happy to have this golden palette. 💛🤎
I agree with what you said except at the end: if you showed me the two palettes next to one another I’d definitely think Gold is the newer, edgier one with the duocrome shades and Golden is the one that came out in the “soft glam” era
I was literally waiting for this video to come out before I decided if I wanted to add this palette to my wishlist. I love how comprehensive they are. The individual swatches and then the swatches of the palette as a whole are a huge help. Then comparing them to every ND palette really is so incredibly helpful. I feel we are very similar skin tones (and undertones) and so your swatches and comparisons are so helpful to me because it gives me a pretty good idea of how it would look on me and what it looks like compared to the other ND palettes I have. It is disappointing that some of the best colors of gold were left out of this one (I never got the chance to buy it) but there is also something still satisfying about the golden palette and would fill a gap in my smallish collection. I'll be rewatching this video a few times before I make my final decision on whether to get this one or not. Thank you so much for the time, energy and dedication you put into these ND palette videos. They truly are so helpful and appreciated!
I bought this palette the day it was available on sephoras app loll. I quite like it! Never had the og palette I want to know how u get all that glitter off ur arm!
I feel like it’s missing a matte yellow that’s somewhere between a marigold and mustard. There are a few similar neutral mattes and one of them could surely been skipped.
I agree, I'm actually really surprised that ND didn't include a mustard matte. Dijon is one of my favorites from the OG Gold, but any mustard matte would have given it more versatility.
I appreciate your in-depth review of this palette! I keep hearing about this product and was tempted to get it-but I don't find the colors that interesting. There are a lot of dupes within the palette and it doesn't seem that unique to me personally. I much prefer the color story of INAN, which is what I have.
Do you still have the 9-pan Brown Toffe palette from Huda? I feel like its a condensed version of the Golden palette. I'm sitting this one out once again because for my skin tone it's too mid-tone, which happens often with ND, and I've seen creators with my colouring where it translated pretty ashy. Nonetheless, I love these indepth videos.
I already bought it... and love it. But didn't have the og. Today I put a look together with Mliko as base to set my primer and above the crease. In the crease I put sandstone. I put Varis in the outercorner and blend it out to 3/4 of the eye and Oro in the outercorner blending in to the middle. I putted Aurom as a spot really in the middle to connect the two sides. It turned out in a really more grungy gold on my eyes (pale skin/grayblue eyes) while yesterday it turned out more warm and peachy when I made a look with Flesh, Pana, Aria and Fizzy. So it does have some variation even with the same style of applying. I think I'm gonna play with Yucca that is slightly giving me a bruise look on its own together with Golden if I can make that work better for me. So yeah, I have fun with it :-) and that is always a good thing.
I got this, and I initially didn't like it but I'm really liking it now, the mattes are really nice for blending, and I love the warm tones. For some reason I didn't like varis initially, but I'm super into it now.
I definitely was interested in this palette but I think I'll skip and just get the highlighter palette instead. The sigma ambiance is BEAUTIFUL tho and definitely has more range and is less one-note than the ND
I never owned the original gold pallet. I got my first ND eyeshadows back in February/ March 2023 in an Ipsy box. My only regret is it took me so long to finally try the brand. I’m obsessed with her eyeshadows. I own several of her midi and mini palettes. I do have the Yucca palette. I plan on picking up the golden palette.
when this first dropped i went through my small but mighty collection and saw i didn’t need this! i have a couple of great gold tones in Huda Beauty Retrograde, Dominique Cosmetics Essentials Palette. Even in ABH Norvina 1. Quite inspiring to pop back into golds vs cool tones though! 🥰
Awesome in depth review, second a lot of what you said. Dang even in that 5 pan face palettes you can see too similar shades to each other, why ? Ugh :( For me ND just does NOT have great color stories and Im a neutral gal but neutral can be fun and give more options then these mono combos. Especially if you already have many eyeshadows and are not a new new in makeup. Such a bore this new palette is meh. But of course ND fans will praise and buy it all regardless. Also everyone hated on ABH bringing in too many palettes but noone says anything about ND doing basically the same but more boring.
I was waiting for this video since I have the gold palette and I wanted to see well done swatch comparisons 😊 and honestly you’re the best at that! I just wish they came out with a huge pan of cava, don’t care about anything else in this collection 😂
@@sideeffect2 I disagree. You don't get the same experience, just a similar name and some of the same shades that honestly are the most unoriginal from the palette
My thing is...if some brand tried to dupe it, does it have enough of a distinct look for me to tell? Def not, I can dips the sheds I like from that palette a thousand times
Was I ever thinking of buying this palette? No... But will I show up for a Lauren video? 100% YES 😆
haha thank you for being here!!! 😊💕
This new release just inspired me to buy the original off Mercari. Natasha removed the most interesting shades. If she had released the exact OG colorstory in a midi, people would have gone feral for it.
If you’re sad the green shimmers and teals are missing, I think Yucca would be a nice complimentary palette!
I wore Golden today with a green from Yucca! The 2 go so well together!
Nice, I’m gonna do that tomorrow!
I would like to see influencers do looks with these combined :)
I wish I would have been more into makeup when the OG came out. Passing on new one.
I got the new palette and I’m not mad I got it, but realistically I could create the same eye look with most of what I already have. And everyone keep in mind that if two colors are very “similar” they are going to look exactly the same on the eyes. You’re not going to see the nuances you do in an arm swatch.
I'm still a Gold palette fan. You can make this peacock feather eye look with it that's just stunning.
Not interested in this palette, but I'm impressed with the creators who can create very distint looks with it. Your looks are pretty unique for this seemingly one-note color story.
I now need a comparison video between I need a nude and the Golden palette 😅
My OG Gold is old now…but it still performs well. I just couldn’t wait to have the updated shimmers so I got Golden. Oh, I love it!! I’m a light warm olive undertone and Golden is like the INAN for me. I like that there are some lighter mattes than in the OG Gold. Such a comprehensive guide! Thanks for breaking down every detail of the Natasha Denona Golden Palette. Loving the in-depth review! Your swatches and application tips are so helpful
Thank you!! So glad it’s helpful!! 😊
@@LaurenMaeBeauty welcome
It reminds me of the naked honey palette. I was hoping that you were going to compare them
Oh thanks for reminding me of this one. I’m going to take it out. To use.
Definitely not a downgrade for those of us who never got the original. I feel like the
Golden palette is the INAN for us warm toned girlies. I've been using it eveyday so far and love it! ❤
I can definitely see it working great for everyday if you are warm toned!!
Log, Oro and Sandstone are also in the mini gold ornament trio. Kinda bummed that I didn't know this before I ordered this.
Please, release the “Gold” palette, not the Golden palette, in the midi version at a later date. My large palette will eventually expire.
That's when I got my Gold palette too. I don't pay attention to expiration dates for powder products.
I have the original. I wish the shades of the new palette were all new, and the new one left out 3 of my absolute favorites: Limechrome, which is stunning, and the 2 teals, also gorgeous. Same to all. Have the orig, it is more than enough as a consumer
So far u are the only one who has accurate swatches to what I see when I swatch the original gold pallet. Right on the mark.

I LOVED looking at your palettes and super helpful before deciding what to spend on - thanks 😊
This was the most helpful review I’ve seen so far thank you so much!!!!!!
I wish she just miniaturized the original and kept the formula identical!!
I wasn't sure but I am so GLAD I bought this palette. I use all mattes for work it's stunning and perfect. I started using all mattes in the glam palette as well OMG so good. Don't regret it it's worth it.

Thank you for your very in-depth review. You can tell you put so much work into this!
You have inspired me to get my original Gold Palette out!
I appreciate all the work you put into this video for us. That Sigma quad is perfect.
You make the eye shadow looks look so easy!!! So beautiful
I loved the demos! The first look is definitely what I do everyday.
Great vid! Loved the in depth review with the comparisons of all the palettes! 💕💕💕
Your ND collection is impressive!!! I miss my Purple Blue palette, one of the best palettes I’ve ever owned and I lost it somehow 🥲 the only older palette I have now is the Sunset palette
It’s nice to see the comparisons of other brands & Denonas. Thank you.
I like it, but I am super bummed (although not surprised) that she completely let go of the "twists" in the original. That is one of the main reasons it was so popular. If she would have put in the Lime shimmer, and the navy matte, I think it would be perfect!

Loved the second look you did with the Golden palette.❤
Such a good in depth review! So helpful! It’s an easy pass for me because I have the OG gold palette, the brown 28 pan and the Yucca. Also so helpful you showed similar palettes. That sigma quad looks stunning and looks indeed like a mini version of the Golden, amazing! Would be a great travel palette🤩
I picked up the Beachy Palette from Sigma the 3 x 3 and Inlove their formula! I can overlook the cardboard packaging. I bought a Lancome palette at the same time and I just reach for the Sigma so much more.
Those nails! I love them
Thank you for this very informative video! I think the palette is gorgeous, just too warm for me. (I have way too many palettes as it is right now anyhow.)🤗
I love the way you review these ND palettes. I still have ND yucca video swatches living in my head rent free😂
I definitely prefer the golds in the glam face and eye palettes!
the video i’ve been waiting for!!
The nails remind me of the glamnetic yellow pop press ons and i love. Very on theme for the video too!
Ooof thank you for this review! i’ve been debating selling my gold palette because I have that and metropolis and I hardly use either and I feel like I have to decide(both were bought during the last restock so they’re not old) at least I know I don’t want the new golden one lol anyway you are always awesome with detailed reviews so thankyou!!
omg the mark from the lipgloss is actually really helpful to show how opaque/transparent a shadow is 😮
I'm a neutral-cool deep winter so I KNOW this won't suit me at all... but that's not stopping me from picking it up lol so aesthetically pleasing
Oh interesting!!! I hope you do a video on this too
9:52 I wish those 2 were included in the new. I definitely prefer those over the gold metallics , could do without them, don’t have the original
Love to hear your thoughts and take on the new palette
I love your eye looks, stunning x
I bought this palette the day it was available on sephoras app loll. I quite like it! Never had the og palette
I want to know how u get all that glitter off ur arm!
It’s interesting how you thought the light face palette was giving the same vibes, because I thought the same with the dark version!
Really appreciate this in-depth review!
I appreciate your in-depth review of this palette! I keep hearing about this product and was tempted to get it-but I don't find the colors that interesting. There are a lot of dupes within the palette and it doesn't seem that unique to me personally. I much prefer the color story of INAN, which is what I have.
🎉🎉🎉 yay! Here for comparisons! Thank you!
I bought it. I am a warm girly, so it works. I did not have the original one, so I am good with getting it.
Your looks are so beautiful! You really are an inspiration. Thank you, Lauren! 😊
I definitely was interested in this palette but I think I'll skip and just get the highlighter palette instead. The sigma ambiance is BEAUTIFUL tho and definitely has more range and is less one-note than the ND
I love your reviews, they’re so thorough and helpful. And I believe the shade Mliko is given an African pronunciation. Em-Lee-Koh. Just an FYI. 😊
Thank you!! 😊
I think I'll stick to my W7 dupe, it's called 24k Gold Rush and it's pretty nice tbh
Absolutely AMAZING and thorough review! Thank you!!!
Girlllll I love to watch you break it down ! 🎉
when this first dropped i went through my small but mighty collection and saw i didn’t need this! i have a couple of great gold tones in Huda Beauty Retrograde, Dominique Cosmetics Essentials Palette. Even in ABH Norvina 1. Quite inspiring to pop back into golds vs cool tones though! 🥰
Such a downgrade. And I get that this is an ideal nude pallette for a wide range of skin tones but the original was just so much better.
Agreed!!!!!! This is disappointing😢
BTW, THEY HAVE THE FENTY CINNAMON BODY BUTTER ON SALE AT SEPHIRA. I KNOW YOU LIKE IT.
Id like a comparison with Colourpops you're golden
The pared down version of this palette is Natasha Denona Mini Star. 😉
You are amazing Lauren, thank you for such an indepth dive into the comparisons etc Really useful ❤
Also everyone hated on ABH bringing in too many palettes but noone says anything about ND doing basically the same but more boring.
i still like the i need a nude the best. but i love these blushes in this collection. the 3 pan one with the stripes in it.. ❤
Yay so excited to see your video
I was waiting for this video since I have the gold palette and I wanted to see well done swatch comparisons 😊 and honestly you’re the best at that! I just wish they came out with a huge pan of cava, don’t care about anything else in this collection 😂
You did a great pallet video!!! I was able to get it 25% off so i went for it... if anything , who doesn't like a brown pallet?!
The new palette is def the downgrade
Not a downgrade for those of us who never got the original.
How is it a downgrade? It's beautiful.
Lol the same was said about I Need a Nude and it was a hit 🤣 imo those blue shadows in the original were ugly don’t know how anyone would miss them
A golden “quad” would’ve slapped. Otherwise I have no use for this! Too fair a lot of the tones will be orange on me
Love the editing!!
