I can’t believe people complain that this gorgeous thing is too monochromatic. They didn’t complain when it was Bronze palette or I Need a Nude. I think they are afraid of the deep tones. But that’s ok. One of the things I really respect about Natasha is that she creates for everyone. There is insane variety in her collection of palettes. Something for everyone.
Have been having this exact sentiment. I also love and appreciate alicia saying likely what we have all been thinking...these palettes are designed to be changed!
All these greys paired with blues, greens, pinks, burgundy, mustard, taupes..that we can find in previous ND palletes can create amazing looks. Happy Halloween.
I do think some of the complaints are a case of judging it for what it isn’t rather than what it is. ND clearly wanted it to be monochrome, not gray scale with complimenting shades.
THATS WHAT I SAID! Just pair it with your other palettes! So far I've had fun pairing it with the Lethal Cosmetic Nightflower palette, which obvs is not ND so you can't swap our the shades but unless you're traveling you don't need to. BTW, I was in an opera few weeks ago and walked into the ladies dressing room and said "Hi Friends" in your style, and another gal said "You watch Alicia Archer!" and we commenced to talk about all our favorite makeup and makeup TH-camrs while we were getting ready for the show 🥰
@bethanybsoprano - That’s so awesome! And I completely agree! I’ve had the mini xenon since it came out and it’s an excellent companion palette to pretty much anything due to the range of tones. I’m waffling on the midi version because it’s not exactly a need, but I think it would be awesome with other things in my collection as well as on its own as Alicia has shown us. Especially with ND where you can pop the shadows out and make your own color stories if you want. I’m always confused when people criticize a palette for not having every imaginable shade they want-I don’t need umpteen taupes taking up space in my collection.
That is so funny!! 💕😆 Thank you for sharing the Hi Friends love, Bethany! And I’m happy to know that you’re combining different shades, and having a ball!
Thank you for defending the Xenon palette and Natasha Denona's artistry. This is a beautiful, frosty ice palette for winter and my very first palette from Natasha Denona. I appreciate you describing and demonstrating this palette. I love your channel and your fun personality. You, Jordan Liberty, and Mel Thompson taught me how to apply cosmetics like a pro.
Xenon is definitely goated for me! Since I got it in the mail, I’ve been diving into it nonstop as a foundation palette to create two Halloween/going out looks by layering multichromes on top. The shades in Xenon made those pop! I pulled her out today to do a subdued, but beautifully simple work look. To me, it’s like a classic tuxedo jacket or little black dress. Dress it up with accessories or keep it simple. Either way, you get a flawless look!
@@aliciaarcher Thank you friend! I think of Xenon and I Need a Nude as Natasha’s take on a capsule collection of staple pieces in fashion, but make it makeup. :)
Multichromes on top 😱 all the possibilities. Love this idea. I usually go for a matching matte to one of the tones in the multichrome but excited to try on all the colors in here.
100%! I have a quite yellowish skin undertone and the Xenon cool greys and dark blues look like subdued blues on me while stronger blues mostly make me look like a clown. ❤ Xenon
My biggest critique is I wish they would label the shadows (on the back of the pan) so if I mix and match I know how to get them back. I usually just lay out my palettes and mix them up that way.
LOL, I was screaming at the screen “Retro pallet for burgundies. Groove, Rebellion, Swing!” I love this idea - you are so right. I am excited now to try to mix them. How fun, Alicia!
I love this palette. After five looks/TH-cam videos, I'm still excited to do more looks with it. All the looks were distict. Granted, I experimented a lot and some looks are 😬. But, it's so much fun coming out of my comfort zone and trying new things. The negative reviews ... I think they're stuck in their comfort zone. I said something in my videos similar to what you said ... if you use the same shades in the same ways, the looks will be the same. This palette, for me, screams "DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT! TRY SOMETHING NEW!" It inspires and encourages me.
I’m so happy to hear that! And that you’re willing to experiment, and dive into the unknown. I’ve been having a blast, especially with mixing and matching different shades from Natasha’s collection.
I think also my issue with a lot of the negative hooplah about this is...no one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy this. Dont want grayscale? Dont buy it. Simple. Given what ND released over this year literally has something for everyone. You've perfectly summarized this Alicia, as always. You da best
My opinion...I love to see something finally truly cool toned and actually different than anything she's released (which is what we beg PMG for release after release, at least on the uniqueness) and most people lean on the warm/yellow/golden/neutral skintone so it may not be their first preference, which is totally ok! As someone with a cool undertone, I am stoked to see such a diverse cool toned palette in range of light to deep shades in the accessible luxury/high end realm. I can't wait to play with Xenon and I need a nude together. I think this was an undertone that was definitely lacking and unique to the oversaturated warm pink/mauve/orange market. I'm personally stoked but also understand this palette won't be for everyone, again that's ok! Also, finally a palette that has a fair enough inner corner shade that actually shows up on my paper white skin 😂❤ Love your perspective Alicia even if it doesn't apply to me. Your reviews are always exceptional 😊
Hey Danielle! Yes, especially now having Yucca, I think Xenon was the perfect finale to Natasha’s year. And to now have these tones accompany the rest of her collection is wonderful!
This is why I love your channel! I feel like I learn to see pallets so differently when you take us through the artistry behind the creation of the pallet. I think mash up with Xenon and another ND pallet (maybe Retro/Retro Glam or the trichrome/starlette), would be so fun to watch.
My first smokey eye look in the mid 90s was MAC gesso (white), greystone (mid tone gray) and contrast (deep blue). I rocked that all throughout college. I am here for Xenon! Thanks for showing the variety it can bring!
I love this! I feel like people forget that Natasha Denona makes the pans removable on purpose so that you can build your own palettes and that each of her palettes is more just like a reference that explores a very small color story very deeply to use as a resource when building your own palette
Alicia's I always though you were a visionary. This is why it is easy for you too put these beautiful looks together out of any eyeshadow pallette for years. Your creativity is amazing.
@aliciaarcher You are 🙏🏾 You are the one person I look for if I don't know what to do with a pallet. You serve these looks. You surely have a creative eye. I hope you come out with a pallet soon. It will be so worthy.
People complaining about there not being a matte black when blackest black as a single shadow exists and like I use it ALL THE TIME with everything whenever I need a matte black when working with any palette or shadows. I've been fully converted to having a separate single matte black as the one and done work horse and honestly it's life changing and I'll never go back.
I said at your first Xenon video that the palette was not for me……BUT, after watching you play with it and hearing you talk about it, I went ahead and got it during the Sephora Rouge sale….it just arrived today!! Then you drop this video, Alicia! It’s fate at work..:) Thank you!!
I love this palette so far. Used different shades and came up with different looks. Also, I have a cool undertone. Xenon does not look grey on my…they all lean blue. I am loving it!
Metropolis is my favorite and XENON is my 2nd favorite because it's so unique and stunning like the night sky with the stars shining. I love you addressing this ❤️ 💖
The Xenon Palette takes me back to the 90’s when I was in high school and college. I am not 100% perfect at applying my makeup now nor was I then. However, I remember I would use shades similar to those in the Xenon palette when I wanted to do a more formal, dramatic eyeshadow look for formal events, parties. My mom and other family members would always tell me how beautiful my gray, silver, etc. eyeshadow looks were. I kept the neutral eyeshadow shades that were very popular in the 90’s as my everyday makeup look, especially for when I was in college and would also go to work.
I missed the comment on your last video about it being similar to a pencil sketch- that is a fantastic analogy! What I thought when I saw influencers calling it one note or people in comments, saying the same thing, is that it’s like an Ansel Adams, black and white photograph. It is all grayscale, but it still shows you a picture of a mountain and a waterfall and trees and the sky.
For me, Xenon is just absolute perfection exactly how Natasha Denona designed it to be. The day that my palette arrived was particularly warm and sunny as you'd expect in Spring. I swatched some shades on the back of my hand to start with. It was when the sunshine coming directly through my bay window combined with the shadows, that each came to life and were filled with colours of the rainbow within each swatch. The white shimmer was no longer white, yet filled with specks of various colours. The off-white was sparkling like golden stars flickering in the desert night sky. The icy-pink came to life with specks of blue and other shifts. I could say something remarkable about each and every shadow in this palette that you'll never experience when watching a TH-cam video. It's the artificial lighting that destroys what is within each shade, yet it's the sunlight that unlocks their secret. The day I discovered the secrets of this palette, I had declared on another Channel that I believed that this could very well be possibly the greatest palette that I've ever bought. I own about a few hundred eye palettes alone, and as an artist as well, know exactly what I'm talking about. For anyone who doubts me, take your palette outside into the afternoon sunlight and start swatching away while you notice your jaw dropping with each shadow springing to life. I never want to hear it said that this is just a black, white and grey palette, as this is nothing but an insult to Natasha Denona, her great palette and to myself whose mind is open to the appreciation of colour.🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨
Thanks Alicia. For the past few years I was able to buy only Tropic palette from ND because almost everything was too warm and orangey on my skin and I had never complained about it. The only thing I was buying the mini palettes just for fun. But this year FINALLY Natasha came out with I need a nude and Xenon palettes that perfectly suits my skin tone. I have already I need a nude and I have ordered Xenon. I’m really big fan of Natasha’s vision and creativity that’s why I’ve got very excited about last releases❤🙌 🎉
Got mine today!!! I love that Natasha has a few monochromatic palettes… I was elated when the original retro midi was basically all mauve tones… bronze palette of course… etc… reminds me of a super version of the Dose of Colors 5 pan monochromatic palettes…. this video was brilliant! ❤
Absolutely agree. I really respect and gravitate towards monochromatic color stories in general, and most brands these days (it would seem) aren’t brave enough to launch such specific and potentially divisive palettes. Def something I am coming to rly respect about ND’s brand philosophy..
part of me understands why people want a palette to be cohesive and give a variety of looks, but also...I almost always bring in shades from other palettes when i do my makeup. Idk it's pretty rare for me to use only one palette for a look, unless i'm only doing like a matte in the crease and a shimmer on the lids.
Exactly- and why I think it worth the price tag for that option. Because as I understand it, it’s expensive to make these palettes magnetic. But hey, I’ll happily pay to now customize!
What a great idea to use other ND shadows in your collection to compliment Xenon! I am saving my cash but I absolutely see how glorious and artistic the Xenon palette is. ❤
I love I love this Palette 🩶🖤🤍 I love this color story that Natasha created! This is my favourite out of all of her pallets, and it is my favourite out of all of the other pallets in the world!! And Thank you for your beautiful review on this Palette 🩶🖤🤍
I totally agree! I see nudes and warm tones almost all the time! And of course they are beautiful, but I really like this one because of how different it was from all of the other palettes!
Yes I agree with you! Some people like me get tired of seeing warm, nudes and pinks all of the time! And not to mention the overuse of reds. I can tell you one thing, I can see myself using this Palette everyday! You can do a simple look, just as easy as doing a super glam look.
I’m the kind of person who wants pallets that have a color theme. I like bronze when I want to go bronze, INAN and boba when I want a neutral look, sunset when I want those colors. I don’t like palette that are all over the place. And honestly I’m more likely to smoke out my eye than use really colorful eyeshadow so Xeon is a goat for me.
I like it. It's not for me but I still like it. I used to always say that I wanted something that was like black, white silver, Gray, I think this fits the bill the only reason I don't want it now is because I was 23 then and I'm 56 now but I still like it.
I'm gonna say it right away - I LOVE Xenon Palette although it's not what I expected. I honestly thought it would include type of shades like Blitz Blue, Astral White, Lilac Dusk and VR Violet and kind of have similar vibe to PMG Subliminal but with black, grays and silvers instead of taupes and golds and I was so excited for it. But after I saw the palette and Natasha's vision and I realised what the story is about (snowy night sky) I wouldn't want it any other way, I think it's absolutely perfect the way it is! Also I think metallic black instead of the matte one is S T U N N I N G because with these tiny little sparkles it really looks like night sky, matte black wouldn't give us this beautiful effect. And Snowbow? Omg Snowbow gives me life! Overall I think Xenon is spectacular on it's own as well as a companion palette. I was hesitant whether to buy it, because I don't really wear gray eyeshadows and other cool tones 😆 but I decided that Xenon with its color story is like little black dress and I have to have it, even if only for special occasions. I bought it with no regrets and it's definitely not gonna be just for night going out 🙂 But now I need Subliminal 🤣
And at the end of the day, we can combine the Blitz shades from Pat! I actually dipped into Danessa’s Lightwork V for some blue flip, and 🤌🏽 I love how Xenon can be the foundation and statement all at the same time 😮💨
I think Xenon is a stellar palette and in no way boring or run of the mill. Thank you for pointing out what you can do with it and how you can add or subtract from other palettes at will. I personally love the palette as is.
I would have loved to see a couple of iridescent duochromes to transform the darker and lighter colors. I think it would have made the palette even more fun and versatile, but I’ll definitely pair it with my Lightworks V and other toppers.
I haven't gotten the palette, but I'm considering it. I think you made several very good points about this pallette (such as it's a perfect addition to the midi line up). When you mentioned adding neons i immediately thought of camu camu from Yucca - that with the mid gray you used in your third look - soo cool! Thank you for this review 😀
I have a warm olive undertone, and I love this palette. I always need to pop in some warmth in a cool look somewhere for it to not look too stark on me. I knew all along I’d be pairing this with other palettes. I’ve already made my perfect neutral palette with some Glam mattes and putting in a few more golden sparkles from INAN. I also have already worn a look using the purple mattes in Mini Love with the with the grays/silvers in Xenon. ❤ I loved the look you did with the blue matte. This palette is special!
Gosh, Alicia, you are gold! I love the Xenon palette and I've loved it since I saw the first leaks of it, and the way you're pointing out its features is gorgeous!
I honestly want to thank you bc I love those palette but I did not feel confident I could pull it off being mixed complexion and brown eyes- for some reason I thought these colors only looked good on blue/light eyes- I really appreciate you Alicia- just discovered you!!😊
Thank you for giving me this confidence!! I know you mentioned that your not a big Huda Beauty fan BUT with the release of the grunge palette what do you think compared to Xenon? Would you say they should not be compared?
Hi Alicia, sorry about the last comment posted , accidentally pressed send, I love this palette, in 90’s I rocked greys with white, orange, peach, olive green, yellow, baby pink, lavender, I wore it with confidence, it doesn’t matter what people say about your creations with eyeshadow,if makes you happy then you go ahead and love your greys shades on the eyes. Love Katherine xoxo
Thank you, Alicia. You are spot on! I felt INAN ( which I skipped because I have every palatte, but the 2 big ones and Star) was a rerun. Unfortunately, you can't remove the pans in the minis without involving burns, LOL.
Yes! I absolutely love this palette. I suit more cool tones, and yet so many palettes that are released are always leaning towards warm browns and coppers.
I love this palette purchased immediately on launch day. I use to have a trio of Mac singles in silver tones from light to dark that I panned in my 20s. Those shades are now discontinued. The second I saw this palette I knew it was for me. This is just next level above the three shadows I had before. I also completely disagree with reviewers saying you can just sheer a black and get every grey in here. There are variances in undertones and components of the colors that provide unique variations. Plus even if you could do that consistently it’s just more convenient to just grab the tone of shade you want from this palette and use that quickly and effortlessly. Very happy with my purchase. ❤
It’s strange to me that people were so so about retro glam and this midi. I LOVE them both!! Plus I picked up the mini triochrome. I feel like I can make so many pretty looks with both the mini triochome and this midi. Anyways I love that you gave us some more creative ideas!! ❤
I mentioned the missing neon and afterwards combined mini xenon with the neon yellow from YUCCA. I stand to my point. It's a match made in heaven and when Natasha releases a full neon blow, xenon midi has a realistic chance to join my collection.
By the way, Wayne Goss brushes are available to order today. I cannot wait to hear your review on these. I hope Beautylish is sending them to you. I picked up three, but considering three others, but want to wait to hear from you!
Stunning looks again! I love the ideas you come up with. I definitely can't wait to get this palette. My daughter seen it and wants it as well. (Another option for an eyeshadow "primer" that I bought recently is the white Tarte Shape Tape.)
You know how you said a couple times that "YOU REALLY GET LILA"--THIS is HOW I FEEL ABOUT XENON--my GAWD I totally GET THIS PALETTE-it's like my neurons see so many gorgeous looks! I haven't even received mine yet--hopefully tomorrow...I cannot wait. I passed on YUCCA...but this, this, THIS is it! the only color I probably won't use is the navy-ish one....
Snowbow on my lid did show up pink, but maybe because I use the Fenty eye primer which has a pink hue to it. I have an idea to use MAC's Fluidline Macroviolet as a shadow base to enhance Snowbow. I think that'll be pretty.
The trademarks she has are "Golden Palette", "Brune", "Haute Taupic", "Rose & Wood" and "Mini Rose"....so you can see where the trend is leaning towards.
Thanks for sharing your playtime with us. It’s a little too blue for me but I think it is inspired. I’m tempted to pull a 9 pan of indie shadows together to navigate this in a direction I would like.
I'm going to re-post a comment I left on a channel clowning this palette: People need to start rethinking what palettes are for. This is a supplemental palette for using with other colors. ND makes that easy by making all of their palettes customizable if you want certain looks from one palette. But this is a collection of grey and black based shades for people to experiment with adding those colors to their collections and not necessarily one product that provides a bunch of looks.
So yes - still pulling the same. What I base my opinion on is if I wear the same palette all week, will people notice that the eye looks are different. With Xenon, it wont happen. And I think you are right, simple eyes will definitely show the difference.
It might not be as seamless to pull out different looks like let’s say Retro Glam (because it has the sages and roses), but in exchange the looks are unmistakably from Xenon. It’s like you KNOW, someone is wearing it. And to me that makes it a statement palette.
yep. I kept nodding throughout your wrap up. There's a vision from the viewpoint of the artist creator and most of the complaints I heard over the years did not take this into account. Natasha has a unique perspective in her artistry just like Pat McGrath. ND doesn't add light inner corner highlights in all her palettes whereas PMG has them in all her Mthrshps (and i LOVE them all!) I just know that I'm going to pull in another palette or single. It's all a part of the fun for me. Thanks, yet again, for your insights, Alicia :)
Monochrome does NOT mean one dimensional. I love the analogy of using this like my graphite pencils . They are all grey and they create exceptional dimension once you figure out how to use them.
I love ND’s creativity and the themes of her midi palettes. I’m always excited to see what she’s going to create, whether it’s something I would purchase or not I can still appreciate it and love the looks people create.
At first I was on the fence with this palette, but your review and approach convinced me. I have it since a few days, and did only three looks so far, but I love it. And I‘m excited to use it more (also in combination with other palettes).
A black matte is not necessary because using a kohl black pencil is the best way to put down a solid black for a smokey eye. It would be nice to set it with a black shadow, but I don’t find it to be useful unless one’s lids are super oily. I used to only use a kohl pencil to make smokey eye without shadows when I was younger. Xenon is great because it can give a variation to the basic kohl eye smokey eye.
Beautiful looks Alicia!!! People love to complain about everything, just ignore them 😂. It’s a monochromatic palette, and ND gives the option to swap shades around easily. Instead of whining perhaps one could sit and play around, or simply not buy the palette.
I believe the Xenon midi would’ve benefited from warmer to mushroom taupe colors similar to what was found in the Glam pallet. I think gray doesn’t always need to be a cool leaning gray. I love the neutral and warm leaning grays and I think that would’ve made it more wearable. With that said, I absolutely love my xenon palette and I believe that if anyone has a pallet that is a challenge, they could always keep a few taupe shadows nearby as companion shades.
Thank you so much for your follow up video on Xenon! Will be referring to this one as well for ideas. 💕 I think I may try to pair it with the new mini ND palette and also the Beauty Bay Metamorphic palette.
i love using black shadows as bases for pat mcgrath toppers and multichromatic shadows. so when i saw this come out, sold. it works for me and i like that there are different gradients to choose from. i also like using the same shade (i.e. black) with different formulas because they behave differently and some pair better with other shades and formulas. and sometimes they can look different depending on how they grab the light. so i don't know how people can see it's all the same thing. i am very happy with my purchase.
Great video thank you :) I've a few midis now, and you've inspired me to mix them up a bit! I've never seen that done before but why not? I agree! Hope you enjoyed your butternut squash dish - sounds delicious 💗 Look forward to your next video soon x
Nurture increase/transition and the lid, Aspiration blend in inner and outer lid/crease(halo). night sky to thickly line upper lashline (beautiful next to aspiration). Then dab either Snowbow or Skift on center lid and into crease. I cannot stop doing that look. One day I did skift and other days I did Snowbow/. Oh! And if you want it more bluish tinted, grab Ebb and dab on inner and outer corner, just a tiny bit. Add more if you want more. I made myself do a different look on Halloween, but I love the purplish look of aspiration (my dream palette) next to the bluish tinted shades from xenon. Oh and the shade Whisper from I Need A Nude is a great inner corner shade, although you could use a light/bright shade from xenon if you’d rather.
I saw a great comment on Patty’s vidgeo of this palette where she said she swapped the black from my dream & vision & mia with skift & it’s so much better ! ❤ I talked a lot of smack about this palette 😂 & now I kinda want it 😅 but its actually sold out on Sephora 😂 ok now back to the video …. Or another person said they would also switch the kinda pink shade from xenon with psychedelic 😅 oh so many possibilities ! Ps … damn it you’ve convinced me 😅 what I’ll do b4 I order Xenon is get out BIBA & use that grey & black bottom row & see how I like it 😅 tor, sculpture & spot are the shades (I have never touched) but they are light grey, a darker grey & a smoky black 😊
I don’t know if anybody remembers the character of Flo from the sitcom Alice, but I’m that age. She had that bottled strawberry blonde color, and that Chuckie light aqua eyeshadow. It was really pretty frightful when you think about it. I think it could’ve been done well, but I think the idea was to make her look garish and cheap. Mission accomplished. Today’s formulas are so much better. Drugstore make up used to be kind of a nightmare, especially as far as eyeshadows and foundation. And in the 90s, Kathy Kinney’s character Mimi on the Drew Carey show upped the ante on the Cleopatra eye, a rather daring take on office make up. As someone with very fair skin with light hair and eyes, I may otherwise be scared off from this pallet, but I think it has its uses.
I love this video and the looks were stunning!!! I think, it doesn't matter the brand or color story, people are going to complain. And you know, if she put a black those save people would complain about the repeat shade. Just can't win Like surely we all have lives with more going on that we don't need to complain about makeup. 😅😂 I love the creativity options with this palette. P.S. I love your educational videos! ❤ Thank you for being here.
I ❤ Natasha’s vision with Xenon. I completely agree with your explanation that the negative feedback on this palette has more to do with a user’s personal comfort level when faced with Xenon; that they find it challenging. To me, Xenon offers the quintessential emotional monochrome palette. And I’m here for it. 🤍🩶🖤
Right, and I don’t mind people not liking the palette based on their own preferences. But to say that it’s bad because they’re only seeing it through their lens is reductive. Which understandable, but knowing Natasha’s style and what she has released thus far provides more than enough context to grasp the point of Xenon.
Indeed! I think Natasha gave us full spectrum color stories this year. A little something for everyone!
This!!!!
Exactly!
It comes down to color preference.
Completely agree!
Have been having this exact sentiment. I also love and appreciate alicia saying likely what we have all been thinking...these palettes are designed to be changed!
this is what i’ve been SAYING!!! xenon is a gift to the collectors and custom palette builders out hereeee
OK!!!!! We love it! 😤
All these greys paired with blues, greens, pinks, burgundy, mustard, taupes..that we can find in previous ND palletes can create amazing looks. Happy Halloween.
Happy Halloween! Indeed, the combinations are waiting!
I don't have Xenon, nor do I want it. But I agree Xenon is GOAT because it's the ultimate study in light and shadow.
That it is! 😮💨

It is little black dress, status!! You are so right, Janelle. It is foundational, but supplementary at the same time!
@@aliciaarcher Thank you friend! I think of Xenon and I Need a Nude as Natasha’s take on a capsule collection of staple pieces in fashion, but make it makeup. :)
❤❤I have been using mine nonstop! My favorite palette of the year!
A Little Black Dress pallet perfect name.
Multichromes on top 😱 all the possibilities. Love this idea. I usually go for a matching matte to one of the tones in the multichrome but excited to try on all the colors in here.
I think Xenon is a contemporary version of a blue eyeshadow palette. I personally love it.
It can be, yes! Especially when the navy tones come forward 😍
@@aliciaarcherabsolutely! That is way they show up on me….and I Looove it!
I know! I use a sharpie and have been considering using my labeler. I need to bring it back to their home.😊😂
Definitely agree! I used the label maker at my work to make tiny little labels for them. Lol.
LOL, I was screaming at the screen “Retro pallet for burgundies. Groove, Rebellion, Swing!” I love this idea - you are so right. I am excited now to try to mix them. How fun, Alicia!
Burgundy and grey 🤤
Palette 🎨
My first smokey eye look in the mid 90s was MAC gesso (white), greystone (mid tone gray) and contrast (deep blue). I rocked that all throughout college. I am here for Xenon! Thanks for showing the variety it can bring!
Preach! I love your perspective. Finally someone that understands.
Happy to share! Thank you, Gina 🥰
I love this! I feel like people forget that Natasha Denona makes the pans removable
on purpose so that you can build your own palettes and that each of her palettes is more just like a reference that explores a very small color story very deeply to use as a resource when building your own palette
Alicia's I always though you were a visionary. This is why it is easy for you too put these beautiful looks together out of any eyeshadow pallette for years. Your creativity is amazing.
Thank you so much, Donna 😭💕
@aliciaarcher You are 🙏🏾 You are the one person I look for if I don't know what to do with a pallet. You serve these looks. You surely have a creative eye. I hope you come out with a pallet soon. It will be so worthy.
People complaining about there not being a matte black when blackest black as a single shadow exists and like I use it ALL THE TIME with everything whenever I need a matte black when working with any palette or shadows. I've been fully converted to having a separate single matte black as the one and done work horse and honestly it's life changing and I'll never go back.
For ppl that purchased ND Xeon, I am African American with a tanned complexion I just used LA girl white concealer to get the colors to pop
I said at your first Xenon video that the palette was not for me……BUT, after watching you play with it and hearing you talk about it, I went ahead and got it during the Sephora Rouge sale….it just arrived today!! Then you drop this video, Alicia! It’s fate at work..:) Thank you!!
Woohoo! Keep me updated!!
People crack me up. “Monochromatic palette is too monochromatic” 😂
😂😂😂
Seriously 😅 They lost me on that one 🫠
I just got my palette in the mail and I cannot wait to dive in. I absolutely love the color story in this palette!
I love this palette so far. Used different shades and came up with different looks.
Also, I have a cool undertone. Xenon does not look grey on my…they all lean blue. I am loving it!
I love the navy influence here!
Indeed! The inability for some to appreciate black and white/grayscale mediums is beyond me 🤦🏽♀️
For me, Xenon is just absolute perfection exactly how Natasha Denona designed it to be.
Retro is by far one of my most favorites for that very reason 😭 It gives me dead rose vibes all the way!
I'm glad they're magnetic palettes, so if you own other midis, you can edit to your liking
You Knocked it out THE PARK WOTH THAT LOOK OMGOSH 😂🎉🎉❤🎉🎉❤ RAISE 👐 👏 😊
I’m the kind of person who wants pallets that have a color theme. I like bronze when I want to go bronze, INAN and boba when I want a neutral look, sunset when I want those colors. I don’t like palette that are all over the place. And honestly I’m more likely to smoke out my eye than use really colorful eyeshadow so Xeon is a goat for me.
It’s wonderful, and I know what you mean! Which is why I love color stories like Retro and Lila 😍
I bought it with no regrets and it's definitely not gonna be just for night going out 🙂
But now I need Subliminal 🤣
And at the end of the day, we can combine the Blitz shades from Pat! I actually dipped into Danessa’s Lightwork V for some blue flip, and 🤌🏽 I love how Xenon can be the foundation and statement all at the same time 😮💨
I think Xenon is a stellar palette and in no way boring or run of the mill. Thank you for pointing out what you can do with it and how you can add or subtract from other palettes at will. I personally love the palette as is.
Me too: visually it’s stunning. But what’s wonderful is that users have an opportunity to mix and match as they like.
I loved the look you did with the blue matte.
This palette is special!
The possibilities are exciting, given how many shades Natasha has presented us. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for next year 😭
You nailed it refusing to understand the creator. Good Job! Nothing wrong with the black grey. Juvia's Place had a grey mini.
Gosh, Alicia, you are gold! I love the Xenon palette and I've loved it since I saw the first leaks of it, and the way you're pointing out its features is gorgeous!
Thank you so much! Had to dip back in!!
Love love love your content. I wasn’t buying this until I saw your looks. The palette is being delivered tomorrow. :-)
Can’t wait until it arrives for you!
I appreciate all of the thought you put into this video, both from a color story and a how to use tutorial. I am getting this palette!
I’m happy to hear that this helped! Thank you!
You sold me! I have tried to order this a few times and things kept going wrong so i was thinking of giving up but now I know better! Thank you!
I honestly want to thank you bc I love those palette but I did not feel confident I could pull it off being mixed complexion and brown eyes- for some reason I thought these colors only looked good on blue/light eyes- I really appreciate you Alicia- just discovered you!!😊
Hey there! Welcome to the fam! The grays and navy’s looks spectacular with brown eyes! 😍
Thank you for giving me this confidence!! I know you mentioned that your not a big Huda Beauty fan BUT with the release of the grunge palette what do you think compared to Xenon? Would you say they should not be compared?
I'm going to mix my Xenon with the purple and blue Violette Fr liquid shadow loveliness - ooh that's pretty!
Great combo!!
Right! If only the minis were magnetic, but that would probably make them more expensive.
Yes! I absolutely love this palette. I suit more cool tones, and yet so many palettes that are released are always leaning towards warm browns and coppers.
This was such a fun video. I would love to see more looks combining her palettes with Xenon for future inspo.
Hoping they’ll send them! We shall see-
I used the Biba grays and black and I need a nude shimmer over the dark gray.
Oooooo that sounds pretty 😍
This palette is very Glam to me. It’s Giving night wedding, Clubbing, NYE vibes. It’s cool literally lol
Gorgeous eye looks with the Xenon palette!! I’m glad you did this video and the message about why you like the Xenon palette. You are so wise! 😊
Stunning looks again! I love the ideas you come up with. I definitely can't wait to get this palette. My daughter seen it and wants it as well. (Another option for an eyeshadow "primer" that I bought recently is the white Tarte Shape Tape.)
I can’t wait for you to get it! 🙆🏽♀️
I passed on YUCCA...but this, this, THIS is it! the only color I probably won't use is the navy-ish one....
haha I had Butternut Squash tonoc too! LOL all I can think about is Xenon w/ PML MOONLIT Seduction--gahhhhhhhhh....
I think the purples and that lilac silver from ND's LOVE PALETTE will also be stunning
Now THAT’S a great combo 🤯
I think you should give the navy a shot as an accent shade.
OK I will@@aliciaarcher
Snowbow on my lid did show up pink, but maybe because I use the Fenty eye primer which has a pink hue to it. I have an idea to use MAC's Fluidline Macroviolet as a shadow base to enhance Snowbow. I think that'll be pretty.
I love this palette! I’ve passed on the last few ND palettes but picked this one up because I can see it supplementing many other palettes.
The trademarks she has are "Golden Palette", "Brune", "Haute Taupic", "Rose & Wood" and "Mini Rose"....so you can see where the trend is leaning towards.
I combined Xenon with the matte taupe/grey/brown shades in Glam, and I got soooo many compliments at work today.
Love it!!! That sounds pretty 😍
Thanks for sharing your playtime with us. It’s a little too blue for me but I think it is inspired. I’m tempted to pull a 9 pan of indie shadows together to navigate this in a direction I would like.
Oh yes! That will be a great idea 😍
I'm going to re-post a comment I left on a channel clowning this palette:
People need to start rethinking what palettes are for. This is a supplemental palette for using with other colors. ND makes that easy by making all of their palettes customizable if you want certain looks from one palette. But this is a collection of grey and black based shades for people to experiment with adding those colors to their collections and not necessarily one product that provides a bunch of looks.
This is absolutely true, and thank you for taking the time to repost!
I love hearing your perspective on makeup artistry. I see the vision for this palette too and find it enchanting!
Thank you son much!!
As excited as I was about Xenon, so far, I have opted out of buying it. I have a warm undertone and grays typically wash me out.
I've done five looks/TH-cam videos using this palette, and all the looks are distinct.
@@aliciaarcher i love Yucca for this reason.
Your videos are the BEST on YT!
p.s. I love xenon too!
Thank you, friend!!
Yup, I laughed when all the reviews mentioned a taupe is needed. I thought the same thing that she has taupe in a lot of midi palettes. ❤
It’s like people, the amount of taupes we already have 😅
Happy Halloween! What a great idea!!
Happy Halloween, Dana!! And thank you!
Totally agreed! The palette is stunning ❤
I love ND’s creativity and the themes of her midi palettes. I’m always excited to see what she’s going to create, whether it’s something I would purchase or not I can still appreciate it and love the looks people create.
Yes, and I admire Natasha’s ability to expand on a single shade. It’s remarkable!
I do appreciate how you explain Natasha denona pallets and I will purchase this eyeshadow pallets thank you for your passion ❤
Thank you for watching!
At first I was on the fence with this palette, but your review and approach convinced me. I have it since a few days, and did only three looks so far, but I love it. And I‘m excited to use it more (also in combination with other palettes).
My xenon just came in the mail. As I have been into sooty, smoky rockerish vibes, I think this may be my favorite midi palette
I really have to say I love this and it’s on my list!! This palette will be great to use with other palettes.
I love how much you love this palette ❤
🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️
Sooooo well said! Thank you Alicia!!!
Thank you so much for your follow up video on Xenon! Will be referring to this one as well for ideas. 💕 I think I may try to pair it with the new mini ND palette and also the Beauty Bay Metamorphic palette.
Omg, the blue added creates an amazing look!!! (I am chatting in comments like this is real time…lol)
I love “Ebb”! It adds such nice coloring!
i love using black shadows as bases for pat mcgrath toppers and multichromatic shadows. so when i saw this come out, sold. it works for me and i like that there are different gradients to choose from. i also like using the same shade (i.e. black) with different formulas because they behave differently and some pair better with other shades and formulas. and sometimes they can look different depending on how they grab the light. so i don't know how people can see it's all the same thing. i am very happy with my purchase.
Great video thank you :)
I've a few midis now, and you've inspired me to mix them up a bit!
I've never seen that done before but why not? I agree!
Hope you enjoyed your butternut squash dish - sounds delicious 💗
Look forward to your next video soon x
Thank you! I roasted then with leeks 😋
This video sparked so many ideas of palettes to mix... I wasn't going to get it, but you sold it to me now!😅😂
Whewps! 🤣🤣🤣
I feel like a deep purple/plum would’ve looked beautiful in this palette but I do appreciate how she literally gives us everything!
Pulling from My Dream or that eggplant from Bronze would be nice.
I personally think this would be a very useful pallet for mixing with other palettes and adding coolness and/or depth.
Exactly, we can never win 🤣
Love your substitutions! 😍 I think the palette is lovely!
Hey Sharon! Thank you, it was fun to swap around!
