What are you sure a replacement is not available? I recently purchased from Phoenix engine a 73 BBC I believe a mark 4 engine. Well after numerous problems in the last eight months I attempted to track down some lifter noise. As I manually turned the crank adjusting valves all of a sudden the balancer turned but the crank nor the cam seems to turn anymore. Engine is installed in truck and I suspect a crankset like the one you showed was used. It's still under warranty but Randy the owner won't cover it unless just the Engine is delivered to his shop. No disassemblement included in the warranty.. Damn!- I bet this just happened to me too. BTW I used your valve lash instructions and I should have set the lash but I wanted to take a few turns to verify everything first. Everything was going well and am glad I found this video and the failure happened in my car port at home. th-cam.com/users/sgaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u1f975.png
Good job. I machined a plug and tig welded it in the cover where the crank sensor resides on my gen 6.
@tjs_welding_and_fabrication Nice, that works too. Thanks
