    I had a Corona for 6 years. Sold it last year. Dan is correct, they are great kayaks. Very solid and easy to upkeep. I almost didn’t want to sell it but my little guy is bigger now and we needed something different.

    Love your videos! And appreciate the fact you’re willing to take the time and educate beginners. My family is buying our first kayaks but they’re sold out EVERYWHERE. Any suggestions where I can order couple beginners kayaks? We live in Minnesota, lot of flat water options, kids ages 3 and 13.

    I like that keel wheel. I did yak rentals down in the Keys and we had Ocean Kayak Capers, keel wear was the number one reason boats got retired.

    I had been considering a Pelican Sentinel 100x, purely because I want lightweight and the 10ft range usually fits that. That said the Nomad appeals to me. I want sit on top, since I have inexperienced people splashing around on it. That said, you might have sold me the extra $150 might be worth it just for longevity and durability of the boat. Avoiding dents and such while stored, etc.
    The wheel was a minor bonus, but after renting one to try out it was good. The only thing I wasn't sure on, the primary felt a little slippy, but the secondary seemed to stop my 240lbs from tipping over (unless I really tried to go over). My biggest concerns were weight capacity, lightweight, and stability. Thanks for the videos!

    I've had my Aventura 125 for just under a month and put over 100 miles on it. It is Amazing! What is the weight capacity of the Juntos? I would love to have a sit on top for days I don't want to paddle far but wanna have fun at the beach or bay close to the shore..

      Not 100% sure but it’s large. I think 325 but don’t quote me on it.

    I almost won the shorter Feel Free in an auction, my ticket was the second to last for the main prize! Not complaining about winning $50, but would have liked the Kayak better lol.
    Question for ya, I have a 10' Lifetime Teton, love that sit on top but she's so slow for the 10 mile + paddles I do quite often. My main boat has become an very fast old 14' Dagger Charleston sit inside, but she is a bit long for a lot of the rivers I go on with the group. What in your opinion is the most efficient 12' Kayak preferably sit on top style? I would love a shorter boat than the Charleston that has as similar performance as possible for the shorter hull.
    Been watching your channel for 14 months now, watched your videos on proper paddle stroke and the cheap $300 kayaks once I got into the sport. Now I moderate a group of over 20,000 members and climbing here in Central Florida that has events weekly! Thank you for putting out these quality videos, I've sent your paddle stroke video several times to new members.

    Would you suggest this to buy? My husband and I bought the Pelican ocean style kayak last year. We would like to upgrade to a model similar to this. If not this one, what would you suggest and if you could, give us a price range. Thank you. Love your videos. So educational and fun!

      $459 and yes it would be a good Rec kayak to buy.

    I keep changing between a gemini and a juntos.
    My daughter is 40lbs and I think I can get her in my cockpit for the rest of this season, but next year is another matter. I prefer sit ins, but since she's part fish a SOT is going to be better.
    Thought the gemini would last us regardless how long it takes her to move to her own (the perception hi5 looks sweet for kids). But I keep thinking it might be more boat than I want to paddle, I'm used to my light weight hurricane. Even sold my WS sea kayak since it felt so heavy in the water.
    Anyway, at least I have some more time to think on it since everything is sold out online, and all the local dealers don't stock their rec boats.

    • @HeadwatersKayak
      @HeadwatersKayak  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To with a Hurricane Santee Tandem or something. So much nicer to paddle than a Rec sit on top.

    • @MinekaC
      @MinekaC 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A Santee 126 is what I paddle presently. The ability for her to jump off and reboard with ease was why we were looking at SOT. I jokingly was calling it a "mobile dock"
      The geminis ability to have a single paddler in the middle, so it wasn't trapped as a tandem, was appealing as eventually she will grow out of sharing a boat.
      I know the hurricane tandems have the ability to remove the second seat, but I'm not a huge fan of the giant cockpit when it's just a single paddler.

    I know it's a strange comparison, but how does the Juntos paddle compared to the Moken 10? I'm not really a fisherman, but I love the idea of being able to move around a bit on the Moken. I mostly stay on rivers with class I, a rare class II here and there.

    I called the shop last week and got directed to a Crescent Ultralite. I'm pretty in love with that one, but this looks like a great starter too. And a bit cheaper. I'm willing to save up for an Ultralite though. They aren't super comparable, but what do you think? Is it worth it to go for the Ultralite? I want to buy from you either way, I'm gonna make the trek out from Reno next month lol. You might not even have any FeelFrees in stock though.

    • @HeadwatersKayak
      @HeadwatersKayak  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Ultralite is a much nicer kayak for not a huge price jump.

      @@HeadwatersKayak Okay. Yeah I think I'm still pretty stuck on it. I'm pretty excited to come visit the shop and pick it up? I wish I didn't have to wait so long, but I gotta save up. Y'all should have them back in stock by then too. If not, I can wait a little longer 😊

    Would the Feelfree Nomad kayak be suitable for a beginner (kayaked only 4 times)
    I am thinking about buying a sit-on kayak and have a few possibilities on my list. I thought the Nomad was going to be 'the one' but one TH-camr suggested it was pretty unstable, which has worried me.
    Seeing these kayaks in quite rough sea shows they can cope OK, but as a beginner, I would be using it on calm water at least for the first few trips.

    • @HeadwatersKayak
      @HeadwatersKayak  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes the nomad is one of the best beginner kayaks out there. It’s good for paddlers up to 200 pounds and works well in lakes rivers and even on the coast. I’m a big fan of that little kayak.

    How the heck do you get those deck storage rubber caps off.? Is there a trick to make it easier to use?

    • @HeadwatersKayak
      @HeadwatersKayak  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! Keep them fresh with 303 protectant spray. Keeps them soft and supple. Start on once side and slide your hands around and it will pop right on. A dry hatch and dry plastic makes it very tough.
