I always report abusive or graphic hate comments if I see them on any channel, and always have. It baffles me that people would ever just skip over them. We can all share our opinions in a respectful manner.

Dearheart, not all comments have anything to do with reality, or you. 💜Much of the time the demanding/mean/negative comments are more a reflection of the person commenting, and much less about anything you have or haven’t done wrong. You don’t have to “try harder”. You may set your own comments-reading/replying policy, and if the process of reading personally-related material is difficult or takes a toll, you are totally within rights to give the job over to someone else to curate comments that are mean, unnecessary or otherwise not pertaining to the culture you are creating/maintaining in your community. I know several content creators that use this tactic, and I would agree that it is a smart move. It might work for you. Remember, you often also address comments within your videos, so there is no need to feel pressured to answer comments individually. Your webfam know you’re invested in them. you don’t have to prove anything, your character shines through everything you do. I feel the recent conflation of the “beauty” & drama communities has spawned an unrealistic expectation of our content creators’ obligations to their audience, and I would counsel you to not stress yourself going down that badly-lit lane. I would definitely recommend getting a comment moderator that filters those abusive comments and sends you the ones that need an answer. Many gurus do that and it really helps.
This Girl Can't Do Makeup unfortunately I saw some in here today already...haters with notifications on I guess...this breaks my heart though. Many big YTers have people who delete negative comments, so they don’t have to see them. But it’s sad.

My sentiments exactly - Wayne has always shared his vast knowledge freely and in such a positive and uplifting way. The fact that he receives threatening or bulling messages is just appalling - why would anyone do something like this, especially when we as a society are supposedly becoming more concerned by and aware of bullying. I know the answer is "they do it because they can hide behind an anonymous online persona" but I feel so bad that such a lovely, intelligent and generous man is on the receiving end of some nasty comments.
Exactly. People tend to push and deposit their problems in another and this is the great disease for the 21st century. Also, if they're genuinely interested, they could review Wayne's entire channel and understand the information without trying to transform this into "private practice." Yes, and some TH-camrs have a friend or an assistant go through new comments (or just the filtered ones) and delete the nasty ones. Because it's less personally painful for them. 👍🏽

We’re only human, we tend to feel the negative criticism much more intensely. Just know that when I’ve had a really bad day at work, your videos are my happy place! You help me stay motivated to take care of myself and you encourage me to have fun *decorating* my face with makeup (rather than simply using makeup to *hide it away* or even neglecting it entirely). I’d love to use correctors/primers/baking Etc. I love makeup so much and have been following Wayne for years! But now at 35, my newly ageing skin (and more sensitive to eyeshadows etc then ever before), I find less is definitely more now. I have such crepey skin around my eyes EVERY wrinkle shows. Watching your vids over the years has helped my adjust my makeup routine and look the best I can. You have replied and recommend some brilliant products to me over that time. I’m not sure how people can expect you to reply on every single comment made. I think your informative videos give enough to followers . People expect way too much online these days . Make sure you look after you Wayne!
It makes me sad that you are getting comments like that because you really helped me accept my natural features. I don't feel beautiful when I try to change my face shape drastically. Whenever I apply foundation and concealer, I always think about your videos. Thank you for actually offering techniques for the everyday makeup look. The price made me reconsider, and I thought I'd try The Ordinary hemi squalene, absolutely no fragrance and my skin loves it! And only £2.79! I will try the squalene for winter, seems a bit richer. Wayne does rate The Ordinary's products. I can't use anything with alcohol on my skin, no perfume, fragrance, nothing 😪 There was something else I asked him about, but I can't remember what it was 🤔 Warm wishes to you!

I’ll read hundreds of comments when I watch a video and it’s almost nonstop gushing. Ive seen a few more negative comments when there’s a controversial video. And even one vile and disgusting comment can be hard to take. But Wayne makes it sound like he gets a lot of hate.

Never forces anyone to follow him. His videos are beginner friendly and easy to do. Even in this videos he says that the youtubers don't need colour correcting, yet still do it. Which brings me back to my original point: doing something that is not required, yet still doing it.

He confirmed my thoughts on TH-camrs using so much color corrector. I've always thought it's so weird that they put bright red lipstick under the eyes...like... why?
I've seen it work well in drag to cover dark beard follicle spots and glued down eyebrows, but not really work well anywhere outside of drag. Daily makeup isn't going to be as caked on as drag, drag is stage makeup

My sentiments exactly - Wayne has always shared his vast knowledge freely and in such a positive and uplifting way. The fact that he receives threatening or bulling messages is just appalling - why would anyone do something like this, especially when we as a society are supposedly becoming more concerned by and aware of bullying. I know the answer is "they do it because they can hide behind an anonymous online persona" but I feel so bad that such a lovely, intelligent and generous man is on the receiving end of some nasty comments.
Exactly. People tend to push and deposit their problems in another and this is the great disease for the 21st century. Also, if they're genuinely interested, they could review Wayne's entire channel and understand the information without trying to transform this into "private practice." Personally, I appreciate all the knowledge and techniques that are generously and politely shared on this channel. I find it extremely nice to see and hear Wayne. Best regards.

Yes, and some TH-camrs have a friend or an assistant go through new comments (or just the filtered ones) and delete the nasty ones. Because it's less personally painful for them. 👍🏽

We’re only human, we tend to feel the negative criticism much more intensely. Just know that when I’ve had a really bad day at work, your videos are my happy place! You help me stay motivated to take care of myself and you encourage me to have fun *decorating* my face with makeup (rather than simply using makeup to *hide it away* or even neglecting it entirely).

I’d love to use correctors/primers/baking Etc. I love makeup so much and have been following Wayne for years! But now at 35, my newly ageing skin (and more sensitive to eyeshadows etc then ever before), I find less is definitely more now. I have such crepey skin around my eyes EVERY wrinkle shows. Watching your vids over the years has helped my adjust my makeup routine and look the best I can. You have replied and recommend some brilliant products to me over that time. I’m not sure how people can expect you to reply on every single comment made. I think your informative videos give enough to followers . People expect way too much online these days . Make sure you look after you Wayne!

It makes me sad that you are getting comments like that because you really helped me accept my natural features. I don't feel beautiful when I try to change my face shape drastically. Whenever I apply foundation and concealer, I always think about your videos. Thank you for actually offering techniques for the everyday makeup look. I love how instagram makeup looks too but sometimes it does not fit the occasion or even a certain face. You actually teach makeup instead of trying to sell me makeup. So thank you for that.

The price made me reconsider, and I thought I'd try The Ordinary hemi squalene, absolutely no fragrance and my skin loves it! And only £2.79! I will try the squalene for winter, seems a bit richer. Wayne does rate The Ordinary's products. I can't use anything with alcohol on my skin, no perfume, fragrance, nothing 😪 There was something else I asked him about, but I can't remember what it was 🤔 Warm wishes to you!

Which brings me back to my original point: doing something that is not required, yet still doing it.

He confirmed my thoughts on TH-camrs using so much color corrector. I've always thought it's so weird that they put bright red lipstick under the eyes...like... why?
I've seen it work well in drag to cover dark beard follicle spots and glued down eyebrows, but not really work well anywhere outside of drag. Daily makeup isn't going to be as caked on as drag, drag is stage makeup

BigHenFor there are. That’s why on a lot of plus size yt channels you will never see the word ‘fat’. That is just an example. Any channel will block words that are likely to be used against them. You will never see it in the comments
