Can you do a video on Ralf Rangnick’s Austria team please
"Once England score and refuse to play anymore" caught me offguard🤣🤣
He did not need to do all that 😂
England plays in a way that Southgate keeps his job, which needs to stop.
Scored 2 goals, finished 1st in the group 🥲
England does that because they have weak defenders so they have to defend deeper as a team. And there isn't really a true holding midfielder to protect the defenders either.
@@seven92023Rice play as holding midfield in West Ham
Will be genuinely shocked if either Spain or Germany don’t win the whole thing
I'm expecting Portugal..
@@umarmars47portugal is just average 😂
I'd be surprised if either of them did.
I’d be surprised if Austria don’t win the whole thing
Austria for the win...
Can we get a vid on Ragnick's Austria?
I also want this please
Spain and Germany QF is gonna be the secret title decider
And then Ronaldo scored the winning goal 😂❤❤
@@umarmars47portugal will not even in quarter final😊
Spain is doing extremely well but have a tendency to choke. Young players tend to exacerbate the situation.
Plus, the weak goal scoring options could create problems. The same problems as always. All the possession, none of the goals.
Mark my words. Germany's biggest weakness are its fullbacks and wings, where Spain is incidentally at its strongest offensively. Nico Williams and Cucurella are going to put the slow Kimmich through tons of trouble. Switzerland has shown, you almost entirely negate Germany's offense by closing up the middle, because there is rarely any danger that Mittelstädt or Kimmich are going to push through down the line. Spain will have easy game with Germany, it's a great match-up for them. France vs. Spain is going to be the title decider.
@@Ceabrus74 Spain doesn't play possession now tho. It's secondary now.
Relationism ❌ Power of friendship ✅
Finally somebody said it 😂
And Southgate is somewhere defending his horrible football and tactics on availability of his players
With such a huge talented squad
That is a crime
It should definitely be 😢
In fairness to him he hasn't been able to replace Kalvin Phillips. 😂😂😂
Oh please. Like what talent? The passing game of most England players is simply average. The truth is England has no good playmaking culture.
@@stnbch3025foden in particular is very good. he won player of the year this year. but for england he plays out wide. hes being wasted out wide when he wants to be central. crappy tactics really
Oh yeha phil foden and palmer are terrible playmakers the likes of trent also cant play a good pass. And stones is so terrible in building up play from behind and god forbidd you have hatty kane upfront who never played brilliant passes to his attacking mates and is the most selfish striker on earth. Also Bellingham cant create he never did that. Mate you sound stupid. I do agree that there is english tax but that squad is stacked and have many creative players who are also good in build up one of the best midfield attacking trio that is insane good defenders average goali though but its talent wasted at the hands of southgate who probably waits as a pedastrian on a redlight even though the streets are free. @@stnbch3025
@@stnbch3025 and the only playmaker they had in James maddison he was dropped for kobbie mainoo instead of Gareth to drop Gallagher and include maddison
Yet again another bad selection 😕
I had been picking up on the 3 at the back, however your videos always seem to explain tactics much better than I can comprehend them. Thank you
As a south american I also feel like a thing people forget about "relationism" is how much it just refurbishes creating space in the zone 14 which is the late 90's and early 2000's new concept of seeing football that then gave born to the idea of half spaces and inverted wingers (being Ferguson and Rijkaard one of the most prominent coaches into the idea before positional football took it futher), which is basically that statistically most goals back then came from long ranged shots or cut ins or associatios/one twos in between the half spaces. So, by associating players in a numerical superiority usually in lay offs plays with lots of runners it creates perfect space in half spaces and in front the box for shooters such as Tielemans, Calhanoglu or Sabitzer to score bangers. (which I think is great, as there's been so many good players these last years who were very gifted in long ranged shots from outside the box but the tactic rigidity of most teams systems didn't let them shine in that matter)
many tactical analysers and coaches from here just call the half spaces and the zone 14 in relatively the same fashion "la partesita de adentro" (the little part/pocket inside)
In fact, the Hungarians played this way in the 1950s, the Italians complained about the difficulty of marking the Hungarians as they concentrated players on one side and quickly switched sides with short passes.
bless you for owning England. I'm so fed up with Southgate 😭
A lot about Spain and Germany (rightfully so), but I'm surprised that there was not one mention of Rangnick's Austria.
The strong defensive line youve mentioned at the end of the Video is the exact reason why weve witnessed so many own goals These Euros already. Something that shouldnt be underestimated is just how much of a psychological effect an own goal has on the players and on the whole game, especially the momentum.
Could you do the Austrian tactics please
That is why calafiori is so dangerous for oppositions, by having a libero like mindset and making runs centrally takes a lot of team off guard marking their oppositions. I expect those sort of out fo the box plays in the knockout stages.
Why was he useless against Spain
The day relationism becomes prominent in europe will be a great day
Great video as always 👍 I noticed two other things about having 3 central defenders in the box at all times:
1) Starting central Strikers are having a goal drought.
2) lotsa goals from rebounds and second ball in the penalty box.
3) Counters agianst these leggy defenders at the end if matches are very effective, especially down the half spaces...
Highest Goal scorer in the EUROS- OWN GOAL 🏆
it can happen when you have too many defenders in the box.
You can say that again
Not really, it is the LONG SHOT🏆
We are grateful for the long range goals and also our top scorer Own Goal
This what bielsa been doing for a while now, always enjoyed this style of build up
This is very well explained, good work
Great video 🎉
As you've rightly said, the defensive formations of teams have been the major reason why more goals have been scored from outside the box. An example is the Denmark's equalizer against England, Denmark doesn't really have any good goal scoring chances in that game. However, hjulmand took the shot very quickly before England settled into their defensive shape and I guess his instinct was right, if he delayed a bit I think there would be bodies to block the shots from getting to pickford. Thank you for all you do, I am learning greatly from your analysis ❤
Great analysis, once again
This is all Guardiola's making, revolutionizing football
One trend is fast wingers dribbling past full backs innan exciting and effective way: Nico Williams and Lamal for Spain, Doku for Belgium, etc. Really enjoyable to watch!
In the first two games Germany rather played a skewed 2-3-5 where Kimmich played more offensively than Kroos. Kroos dropped into the defensive line occasionally, but not permanently. Against Switzerland Kroos played as DLP creating a clear back three, which didn't work out very well. Nagelsmann explained that he switched to the back three, because Switzerland pressed with three physical strikers.
I think people play 1.very high press (if successful) counter attack ,(if unsuccessful), building from the back. 2. ball gets into your side of the pitch, very low press, don't let enemy get into the box, don't let passes into the box. 3. very narrow defense, moving and defending as a block. when in attack very narrow too, getting player advantage on one side of the pitch if enemy has more ball to the other side of the pitch to make enemies tired. 4. a lot of one-two play to see how the opponent reacts...
a thing i noticed about portugal is that they are not press ressistence.
i noticed it st the turkye game
first of all they played strched formation witch caused them to move the ball from one side to the other without breaking any lines.
they are caunting on personal abilitys or opponents "mistakes" while not depending on overlouds
i can see them strrugling against a team that press high up the pitch
What software are you using for these formation videos?
We need a video on austria pleasee
will you make video on switzerland ? i think their manager is great tacticaĺy
Perfect content❤
Very simple: playing with a back 3 means there are more midfielders. Many teams want to press high because of data analysis. The machine shows which area gives more probability of scoring. This line of thought is well known and need no more of explanation. However, as Ancelotti said, when you put more player in one area you left space somewhere else.
1:52 wait England also use 1 pivot in declan rice
Because TAA pushes up and Bellingham drops down but I think in some ways it's a double pivot
But because rice is alone so its a single pivot who drops in the defence to make a back 5
One player that I found special at this euros is the Own Goal guy, lad is up for the golden boot
You mentionned Spain playing differently, I'd also add France who has not really been building this way and they have been struggling.
The CDM dropping in between the CBs is something that Pogba used to do a lot for France, and that imo has been severly lacking in the first two games when we are in possession. Tchouameni does it to an extent but he lacks the ball-playing capacities that Pogba had
i love how FM roasts England💀
National team managers don't have the time to drill their players to a T like club managers. Players need extra touches to find teammates, teams don't press quite as aggressively, managers have to do with the best players they have (even if it means out of position players), and the attacking is a lot more improvised which lends very well towards a relationist style of play and long shots from distance.
Spain is unique because the players have known each other a lot more and play in teams that are tactically similar to Spain, so they can in fact play like a club team.
Can we please have a detailed analysis of Switzerland’s play? It has gone remarkably under the radar but is kicking backsides regularly.
You should make a Austria Tactical Analysis
Please do a review of Turkey’s tactics as well.
They already did it.
Please,, Make a Video on "overall tactics of South American Teams"
I like nagelsma tactics he is so good😊
Did anyone else notice the small detail at 5:23? It’s so cool!
Do Austria
Slovenia bringing back the 4-4-2 is beautiful
bringing back? when exactly did it go away?
Can you do one on France i don't actually see what they are doing 😅
Copa america tactic review plz
To be fair Spain did not play against an offensive strong team yet, Croatia and Italy performed really bad in that regard, no runs behind the defensive line.
Georgia reminds me off Marocco from 2022 with there "meta football".
please review disastrous and chaotic Croatian "tactics"
When he said once England score and refuse to play anymore I laughed really hard 🤣🤣🤣
We need a video on Ralf Rangnick’s Austria team please
From what little I have seen of the euros i would say most teams lack a quality striker to score inside the box. Which is why I find Harry Kane playing deep and not leading the line very frustrating. If he played more as a poacher, let others do all the creative work people would have a better opinion of England
Yep. That would make the job easier for Bellingham as well. Ronaldo focusing on linkup play, Mbappe still adjusting to the mask and its discomforts...All that means the topscorer post is still open.
Feature which stands out to me is the failure of set plays
Relationism thriving now makes me so happy
Euros: Back 3 buildup
Copa América: 3 punch combo
What are you italian?
This is how I try to look at football but I'm not smart enough 😅
I have a theory: This year Euro has a lot of long shots partly because the properties of the football used allow players to have more reliable long shots
Why are you slapping the desk every so often?
Yes a back 3
There is NOTHING new tactically at these Euros.
The only really interesting thong of notion to me is how much freedom and trust Riccardo Calafiori gets from Spalletti
And how well he's keeping or exceeding those expectations without having the team suffer defensively.
Calafiori has been the tournament's outstanding player as he's arguably the only player (MAYBE along with Musiala) who has had three good games.
Whoever wins between Spain and Germany will won the euro
Quick notice, Fernando Diniz was fired from his last club Fluminense. They are the actual Champions of Copa Libertadores!
This just goes to show how bad the manager culture in Brazil is. You would never see an european team fire the manager that won the champions league in the next year unless something drastic happened. But here, just one string of bad results is enough. I saw a crazy statistic showing that in 10 years Flamengo had more managers than Liverpool in their entire history. This is absurd and it is hindering the development of good brazilian managers.
You didn’t even talk about Austria
Germany hard to press 😂😂😂. The distances to successfully get them under pressure are totally there... There is an overall lack of aggression to hunt when the pressing distances are totally doable..
To be fair, Hungarians invented relationism in 1950.
I'm waiting on a video showing how this "Relationism" and the lack of evolution of this style led to the sacking of Fernando DIniz from the national team and now from Fluminense (who is currently on the last position of Brasileirão).
Brazil destroyed Diniz. He should of never been fired from the National team. Diniz Brazil had the performance of what you expect from a newly formed squad. He beat the teams they were supposed and were unlucky losing to Colombia and Argentina on set pieces. Uruguay game the team got out played. But you could see the vison and he had Brazil playing like old school Brazil . The Colombian game that they lost 2-1 highlights this .Each game they controlled . After the sacking at Brazil Diniz lost confidence and completely changed his style this season which completely destroyed how the team was used to playing. He then tried to go back to his original style but was to late . Let’s also not forget Flu is not a big club and has a fixed small budget. Leverkusen went undefeated this season using relational principles.
He has good ideas, but he's mediocre and doesn't know how to change the way he plays when his team is encapsulated by a better opponent.
Why so many own goals?
Bros No need to analyse Spalleti tactics that literally make Jorginho as a non functional player to decoy 💀
I'm starting to lose count of the amount of references of Fernando Diniz on international football related videos. And here he's simply not recognized as a good coach by the majority of people I talk to
Oh, they stole my idea
To be honest, the Euro is quite disappointing to watch. Most big teams tend to move the ball at a very slow tempo and cross blindly. Very few teams are ambitious with the ball. I don't see a lot of diversity in attacks and counterattacks are poorly played. Teams I liked so far are Georgia, Switzerland, Austria, Spain and Italy. So far, the game quality is worse than the last Euro and World Cup. Players are tired, I guess this is the main reason for such a tendency.
That is a very uncommon opinion.
DINIZ WAS FIRED! Unfortunally, he's relacionism is his only knowledge. Been the first doesn't mean be the best. I prefer Xabi's Leverkusen
Diniz lost his confidence and completely changed his system up which destroyed how FLU normally plays. And let’s not forget that it’s still Fluminense .
I live in Canada but my roots are in England (my dad was born there). And although I've always cheered on the England team, I will never root for a team if any player has, at any point in their career, knelt down before a match starts. (And, thankfully, I'm not in the UK so I can freely state this without being subject to harassment by your UK's Gestapo Woke-DEI-CRT-Trans police force.) Nor will I ever root for them again until every single player that did kneel, and every single coach that inspired this reckless behaviour, is no longer either playing / coaching that team. In fact, I will actively cheer on any team that they play. Sports is not a place for politics or cultural debates. Any player or coach who participates or incites this should be banned for life from that sport.
Pep Guardiola has revolutionised tactics which every coach are now using
Spain is winning for me
Why relationism tho? just because of Ancelotti with the best players in the world, of course any tactic would work with that. Ancelotti practically failed at everton with these tactics, a proper system is best like Xabi, Pep, Arteta, Enrique. More entertaining and provides more opportunities.
Only a filthy casual would downplay Ancelotti's achievements. He has more UCL trohpies than all those managers combined. He is the only manager to win the championship in all of Europe's top 5 leagues.
You are clueless. Do not disrespect Ancelotti like this.
@@Coach-rq6jx Explain why i am clueless? His tactic's are used in the Euro's and they are terrible.
@@One.Zero.One101 Yet Pep has double his league titles and 3 champions leagues in half the time he has. When ancelotti has managed amazing teams like pep. Tactically he is no where near pep and positional managers alike.
I want YOU as England manager
Everybody is saying how good Germany is but I think they’re overrated.
They beat a pretty bad Scottish team which played with 10 guys for half the game. Hungary isn’t a great team either. When they played Switzerland which provided decent opposition Germany almost lost.
I think they’ll get beat by the first decent team they encounter.
Hey Swiss also showed germany's strength though. The ref was on Swiss side. It was germanys 11 vs swiss 12
Not really dominating are they portugal just lost to georgia and germany were lucky to draw against switzerland
Bad to say that Germany were lucky to draw Switzerland. If anything that show Germany's strength. The swizz had help from that ref. How can you win if the ref lets fouls in the oppositions box free?
Phil Foden is solely responsible for the increased long range shot attempts of the entire Euro. That's his only play.
IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boring to watch!!!!!!
European football getting less entertaining. Copa America more entertaining.
Pfft.
