When people ask me what was my favorite part of 2023, I’m gonna to tell them it was watching Rose and her family go to Uganda! Even though I’m not there, I haven’t smiled this much from any thing else this year.

I enjoyed seeing Rose's nephews in school and how these students work to achieve high grades. Also, the clothing gifts was a nice gesture from Aunty Rose. Rose has such a beautiful and positive personality,and I do enjoy watching her son and husband they are a very humble and kind as well. Her Ugandan family is also sweet, and it will be sad when her visit comes to an end.

@@ekg891 There is no 'poor Africa, lucky me" here. The children in this video are blessed. They are not dealing with anxiety, depression, teen suicide, bullying and all the social media norms that are robbing the privileged kids around the world of a meaningful life.

Rose please teach your son your language as well it's good for children with parents that speak two different language that is awesome so please teach him that way will able speak to his grandmother and cousins and aunts and grandfather as well❤
I also noticed he doesn’t seem to speak her mother African language. I would not assume the reason he doesn’t know it yet, but to not know it would be a miss out.

Am impressed with the Uganda schools for using English as medium of instruction .No wonder students from Uganda attending the universities at my place are very fluent in English !👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Duhhh.... English is the official language! Everybody speak English ...even if they didn't go to school they understand and can communicate basics
We were colonized by the British-the school system is British.
Luganda is widely spoken by pretty much 99% of Ugandans but English is also the first language and taught in schools from kindergarten.
All tribes have their tribal languages that they speak but Luganda is spoken and(or) understood by most Ugandans like I said and everyone speaks English everywhere you go unless in the few cases where they have never gone to school then maybe they may not speak/understand English well because they never got a chance to learn it…
Some Ugandans like me speak Kiswahili which is another language widely spoken in East Africa; so for example I speak English, luganda, Kiswahili and a few other tribal languages that I’ve been exposed to. It is not unusual to find people speaking up to 5+ languages where we are from…and when I went to Italy I learnt Italian as well:)
@@victorianabunya6134 Your country's situation is very similar to my state ,Sarawak.We were one of the British colonies in South East Asia before.Our education system was formerly British too until Sarawak gained independence through Malaysia in 1963 .We are fortunate that English remains as our state official language apart from Bahasa Malaysia until this day.😉

It really takes a Master linguist who can keep continually keep translating between the Ugandan and Mandarin languages.😊
This reminds me a lot of how my mom would take me around to shop for clothes 😂 holding them up to me, checking the shoes to make sure my toes had room...seems forever ago now.

Im also from Africa. That school looks VERY well organised compared to most village schools . The children appear clean and healthy and their environment appears cleaner than i anticipated.

The nephews are in boarding school (live in the school environment while they study except for some breaks).
In case anyone is confused.
Boarding schools are quite common in Africa but in public and private schools.

Ugandans value education. The Ugandan education system is very thorough and gruelling. Schools are very strict and students are taught everything from language, culture, discipline, cleanliness, chores to Geography of the whole world, history, and science. An average Ugandan elementary school kid can school you on the U.N, the prairies, the great lakes, E.U, etc.
Rose 🌹 you are so sweet to go get the nephews and be concerned for their education, wanting them to do well 🤓They are strong young boys that have a bright future ahead and education is important. Beautiful family! It’s good to see you so happy Rose. My mothers name is Rose too! She moved to the US from the Philippines after she married my dad in 1988. And the one thing I wish she taught me was how to speak her language- our language. Teach Anzai too if he has interest:) it would be such a good skill for him to have in the future- to be multi lingual like you! I am 36 now and the one regret I have with my mom is that she did not teach me. I speak English & Spanish better than my native tongue😅 But I’m learning on my own now so I can talk to my family back home!😁

Hey Rose, you forgot to tell us the name of the school. How i wish you taught Anzai another language so that he can communicate easily with your family.
I bet she knows what's good for her son..She can translate for him what they are saying that's how kids learn..It's her first time visiting after relocating to China and don't forget she was adjusting her life there and learning a new language.give her a break.
