As an Ethiopian living in Kenya,I have to say this is the best African country indeed.From technology,education, infrastructure and business,this country is truly advanced.
I am from UK, and I love staying in Nairobi. U name it and we get it. The wild life, the greenery, the huge supermarkets, the excellent conditions of roads, super WiFi, lots and lots of eateries, coffee shops and everywhere there is wifi. What more does one want. I am so proud of Kenya.

Kenya, my country! It takes a foreigner to make us realise just what wealth we are enjoying! And they have been many recently - from Uganda, Ghana, Botswana, several Nigerians; and those are just the ones I've come across! I'm proud to be Kenyan, proud to be African. There are also many challenges we are facing in the midst of all this. But that's to be expected anywhere. The worst of it is corruption. I cannot begin to envisage just where we would be today if it were not for corruption!

I consider myself an honorary Kenyan because I lived in the country for four years in my teens😅 now I’ve been back once ever since and even having lived in other countries (some before I even lived in Kenya)- I can say Kenya definitely ranked number one for me. Don’t get me wrong- Nairobi might not compare to New York for many but for me, just WOOOOW. If I remember well, I had faster internet in Kenya than I did in South Africa. Apart from that, Kenya seemed to have a never-ending and abundant number of places to go: Malls (my favorite being The Hub in Karen), Restaurants (my favorite was the Ankole Grill) and even SKATING RINKS. Apart from that, the school I went to (Rift Valley Academy- PROUD💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾) gave me a better high school experience than I could’ve ever gotten in the US because everyone just seemed respectful and mindful but at the same time, they were a bunch of goofy and fun malakas😂 I also loved the people- my favorite were the Maasai (who I got to spend a good amount of time with since my dad was working on US aid programs in the Northern part of Kenya at the time): those guys were dope and welcoming (unless you cross a Moran- in which case, only Enkai can save you then💀) and their nyama choma topped even the best brisket I’ve had in my home, the Lone Star State. They had some of the best roads in Africa- many had some seriously breathtaking views too👍 What I liked most about the country was the costs- mahn, you don’t know how happy I was when I figured out I can buy myself some bread at $40 cents (yeah- I get it’s cheap cuz I’m a foreigner and all but still WOW)!!! And the cherry on the icing (I’m probably going to get into trouble 4 this) THE WOMEN!!!!! Oh my GOOOOOOOD, God must’ve had a hell of a hard time just designing and making Kenyan women- but the end-result was a crazy level of perfection😏🥹 Now for Nigeria…. We’ll Nigeria ain’t bad either. I mean, I had a couple of rough encounters in Lagos- I didn’t go beyond the city… and Hey, my wife’s Nigerian so there’s that😅 But honestly, all both countries need to do in order to become even better is to just tighten the noose around corruption (bloody hell does a cop ask for a bribe to let me past customs!!!??? Like tf mahn?) and they all gon’ be aight. But all said and done, My money is on Kenya because I really do dream of going back to raise my family there one day🤞🤞🤞

I'm Nigerian living in Nairobi and you are correct but really I wish you wouldn't compare both countries. I love Nairobi, no doubt, but I don't believe you should bash Nigeria as much as you've just done. We as Nigerians in diaspora are the representation of our motherland, but if we constantly spread our dirty linens outside, it's more a shame on us than our government.
Kenyan here. I love Naija confidence & self pride, wearing their heavy accent and flowing Agbada dressing with immense pride, without apology or letting anyone make them feel "little". It may be overbearing at times, but still better than being timid. That's something we can learn as Kenyans. Kenya can also work on police brutality, insecurity especially in the cities, and rule of law especially in traffic section. Success is bigger than just infrastructure, we need a functional social order. I also hope Kenyans don't adopt xenophobia like what I hear from South Africa. As they say, "A One A We"
Thank you for your unbiased view. This is very true especially the area of police brutality or xenophobic attitudes. On the issue of accent, am of the view that it's mutual. I observe that most Africans speak English using the rules of their native tongues. So a Kenyan speaking English within fellow Kenyas they hear no accent untill he speaks outside of a Kenyan audience. Same thing with most Africans too. Though we have Africans who have mastered the act of speaking English using English rule 😉
Kenya will never be a xenophobic country,I think we are the largest country in Africa hosting many foreigners we leave with them and see them as our brothers and sisters as one !
There are things we Kenyans take for granted. The internet is reliable and the young people are so skilled it's fabulous. Nigerians are very smart. I've worked with IT gurus in Nigeria but I have no idea why the government doesn't take investment seriously. There are good roads in Nigeria in Abuja. But Nigeria will grow too.

Africa for Africa, as a Kenyan I also know good things from Nigeria especially Nollywood movies, their are even terms used by Kenyans from Nigeria due to your movies have been very popular here like Okonkwo, igwee Obinna, your music is up there walk into our matatus night clubs, churches,tv and radios you can't miss Nigerian music because it's good, and one thing we know for sure Nigeria is a football nation world cup or African cup of nation without Nigeria it's boring. So as a continent we have so much to share only if we pull in one direction. As a Kenyan i wont cap saying that Nigeria has advanced in some sectors for instance the entertainment industry .Our govt has invested a lot on all types infrastructure and technology living behind the entertainment industry which is a win for Nigeria, i mean we try but you are on top, so don't feel behind because we look up to you guys on such.
Entertainment industry only benefits a few hundred. Infrastructure benefits the entire country.
Truly, Nigeria is embarrassing Africa. With all its huge resources of oil, population, big economy etc....... It should be leading in development, innovation, human capital, technology, infrastructure etc.......but it lags behind smaller countries with less resources. I may be wrong but I think its because of poor leadership & corruption. Who else agrees ??

I consider myself an honorary Kenyan because I lived in the country for four years in my teens😅 now I’ve been back once ever since and even having lived in other countries (some before I even lived in Kenya)- I can say Kenya definitely ranked number one for me. Don’t get me wrong- Nairobi might not compare to New York for many but for me, just WOOOOW. If I remember well, I had faster internet in Kenya than I did in South Africa. Apart from that, Kenya seemed to have a never-ending and abundant number of places to go: Malls (my favorite being The Hub in Karen), Restaurants (my favorite was the Ankole Grill) and even SKATING RINKS. Apart from that, the school I went to (Rift Valley Academy- PROUD💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾) gave me a better high school experience than I could’ve ever gotten in the US because everyone just seemed respectful and mindful but at the same time, they were a bunch of goofy and fun malakas😂 I also loved the people- my favorite were the Maasai (who I got to spend a good amount of time with since my dad was working on US aid programs in the Northern part of Kenya at the time): those guys were dope and welcoming (unless you cross a Moran- in which case, only Enkai can save you then💀) and their nyama choma topped even the best brisket I’ve had in my home, the Lone Star State. They had some of the best roads in Africa- many had some seriously breathtaking views too👍 What I liked most about the country was the costs- mahn, you don’t know how happy I was when I figured out I can buy myself some bread at $40 cents (yeah- I get it’s cheap cuz I’m a foreigner and all but still WOW)!!! And the cherry on the icing (I’m probably going to get into trouble 4 this) THE WOMEN!!!!! Oh my GOOOOOOOD, God must’ve had a hell of a hard time just designing and making Kenyan women- but the end-result was a crazy level of perfection😏🥹
Now for Nigeria…. We’ll Nigeria ain’t bad either. I mean, I had a couple of rough encounters in Lagos- I didn’t go beyond the city… and Hey, my wife’s Nigerian so there’s that😅
But honestly, all both countries need to do in order to become even better is to just tighten the noose around corruption (bloody hell does a cop ask for a bribe to let me past customs!!!??? Like tf mahn?) and they all gon’ be aight. But all said and done, My money is on Kenya because I really do dream of going back to raise my family there one day🤞🤞🤞

She said Kenya was the best place in the world to raise children. She couldn't believe how her children could be at the Kenyan neighbour's house all day, happy and well fed.

I'm Nigerian living in Nairobi and you are correct but really I wish you wouldn't compare both countries. I love Nairobi, no doubt, but I don't believe you should bash Nigeria as much as you've just done. We as Nigerians in diaspora are the representation of our motherland, but if we constantly spread our dirty linens outside, it's more a shame on us than our government.

Kenyan here. I love Naija confidence & self pride, wearing their heavy accent and flowing Agbada dressing with immense pride, without apology or letting anyone make them feel "little". It may be overbearing at times, but still better than being timid. That's something we can learn as Kenyans. Kenya can also work on police brutality, insecurity especially in the cities, and rule of law especially in traffic section. Success is bigger than just infrastructure, we need a functional social order. I also hope Kenyans don't adopt xenophobia like what I hear from South Africa. As they say, "A One A We"
Thank you for your unbiased view. This is very true especially the area of police brutality or xenophobic attitudes. On the issue of accent, am of the view that it's mutual. I observe that most Africans speak English using the rules of their native tongues. So a Kenyan speaking English within fellow Kenyas they hear no accent untill he speaks outside of a Kenyan audience. Same thing with most Africans too. Though we have Africans who have mastered the act of speaking English using English rule 😉
Kenya will never be a xenophobic country,I think we are the largest country in Africa hosting many foreigners we leave with them and see them as our brothers and sisters as one !

There are things we Kenyans take for granted. The internet is reliable and the young people are so skilled it's fabulous. Nigerians are very smart. I've worked with IT gurus in Nigeria but I have no idea why the government doesn't take investment seriously. There are good roads in Nigeria in Abuja. But Nigeria will grow too.
