The Lord says be quick to listen and slow to speak. So you should listen. You decides what best for your family but it doesn't hurt to get wisdom from your elders.❤

No, privacy and respect is absolutely needed for new families. They have a lot to adjust to, and THEY want to hold their baby/ies. Visitors can wait!!! I am 50, have had 14 children, and totally agree with this couple. I wish I had known this in the beginning. I tell my children as they marry and begin to have families to tell people when THEY are ready, have visitors when THEY are comfortable to have visitors. I don't go rushing over. I wait until I am invited, or we co-ordinate a time. Caring for them is being considerate of their wishes and choices. Just dropping in unannounced is rude and disrespectful. I also don't tell them how to parent. I watch and learn from them, even though I no longer have a baby. I answer any questions they ask, and they are confident to ask, knowing I won't push my views on them, and that it is ok for them to choose differently. It is THEIR family. Wanting privacy and respect at such a treasured and intimate time is not 'entitled'.

If you had family members who didn’t care about you at all, this conversation would not be happening. Typical spoiled millennials. Be grateful you have people that care about you. A lot of people have no one.

This is a conversation about boundaries for new parents after having a child. We did not go into families who don't care or people who have no one but we're sorry if that's been your experience.

It takes a village with you because you always winding about being tired and stressed. Enjoy it while you can because when you need them they won't come. With that village, gives you time to rest, and have a date night that you always want, and also you will have the right person to watch over your child and not strangers.

You don't have to do wat they tell yu. You lucky yu have parents en relatives that yu can ask to leave. Some ppl have none. Appreciate them while they are there

Where did you hear that they didn’t appreciate? Learn to understand and respect people’s boundaries. People know when they need help, learn to respect when they said they got it.
