Totally worth it! I switched the fuse around because it was gunked up and then the radiator fans and AC worked. Will keep an eye on the fuse box, but for now a simple free repair! Thanks.
Thanks alot. I had a mechanic look at it, one replaced fuses after audi service charged me twice and only got tt running for about a week. $$$ A 3rd mechanic replaced the box and just did not like anything he saw. He said the fuses were cheap. (I don't know, that's what he told me). Ever since it has run well. I haven't run my car in months, when i drove it for a short drive last night, as i want to drive it further this weekend, after i parked i noticed a slight noise/buzz and it made me think the fans should be moving when they weren't so i thought i had another failure. But, after reading this, i went back out and turned the car back on. Checked, fans not moving. I switched the AC on and both fans started turning. I also checked the rad fluid and it was topped it. Thanks so much for that tip in the comments!! I am confident it will run the not so long distance i will travel. tyvm!!!
Dude....take your time and have a script to be smoother in delivery. Also know what each wire is for and names of parts. Black wire is alternator, next red is interior power, red white is cooling fan power, next is fuel pump last is emissions. Tho three green, cooling fan, last two are abs related. Cheers.
i had the same problem but now my fans wont even turn off i shut off the car and fans are still running any idea i already replaced the auxiliary fan module
I'm trying to trouble shoot this in my head. if fans are still coming on after vehicle is off and staying on i want to say somewhere there might be a computer problem something isn't telling the fan modulators to turn off. I would first take off the battery posts for a couple hours and reset all computers systems. then during that time I could check each fuse are good. if that's doesn't fix problem then I woukd say a computer has gone faulty that tells car it is what temp is.
I changed both modules, top over battery and under battery and fans not working at all. Checked all fuses and they are not burned. Dont know what to look for now.
The real question is.... when you’ve replaced those fuses, fan relay, both fans, coolant temp sensor and the radiator fan switch and still over heating?
I haven't had the a/c problem yet. but if the entire system is dead then I would go to en electrical problem, like a fuse. I just haven't researched which fuse system operates the ac system. but I'll find out if that woukd help
Cheap but they don't click into place on the large plastic part. I got one from a golf for my Audi S3, it does the job but is loose. Will need to use some zip tie technology.
Mines getting hot but no blown fuses, definitely not normal. Low speed on radiator doesn't come on. High does with AC switch on. High comes on to normally when the gauge gets to 3/4's hot about 115°c. Really irritated right now. Amazon control module failed me over and over and got an OEM one and everything was working for about 2 months and again this shi+. I am having these MK1 cooling systems. Much garbage.
Great video, I cannot for the life of me find the module that tells the fan to turn on. Mines overheating and fans won’t turn on. I’ve searched and no video has been clear. Could you help??
It would be helpful to know what the other fuses are for as for some reason my internal Air fans and heated seats have stoped conning on after a battery recharge ???!!!

Did you ever find the answer i have the same problem
Is there a clear plastic safety box marked JTEaston?
Thanks, Tory

You ever figure it out?
Very helpful.

Any idea? I'm currently fighting the same issue. thermostat next? but the radiator gets warm so coolant is moving, it takes a while to overheat..
Did this problem effect the AC in your car?
i have same problem fan dont work and ac dont work any idea whats the problems ?

I Know it's late info, but it's the fan relay. It's located under the battery. It also controls the ac.
The battery fuse panels that sell for the same engine but for VW cars cost much less than the Audi TT. Go figure lol

@@aaronhogan2371 Personally I'd rather rewire it and mount it in the engine bay away from the top of the battery with some rubber mounts
