Regarding US passports, the passport book is the only approved document to use for international flights. The passport card was designed for use by those who travel by land, ie, border crossings such as between the US and Mexico or the US and Canada (by car). The passport book can be used for any form of travel to/from the US (flying, cruising, driving). 👍🏾

Admire your guts. I have lived in 3 countries on 3 continents. Born in the Netherlands. Lived in Suriname for 5 years. Then Thailand for 16 years. Now contemplating Tanzania myself. I travel for work and been to over 100 countries and territories.
I know how difficult a new country can be. Don't let bad experiences knock you down.
Basically in every country in the world 5% of the people are bad. If you are a foreigner somewhere those are the people you will usually meet first as they prey on newcomers. Try to connect with the locals in the area you life.
Try to stay away from other expats as much as possible. Especially from other people from your own country. You will be inclined to believe them more than the locals. This will make you vulnerable to many bad experiences.
This is from my own experience. Hope it will help you.

Thanks for making this video! My husband & I are in the process of moving to Tanzania right now! ✈️🌍
For anyone wondering about PASSPORTS right now: we applied for my husband's 4 weeks ago today & haven't gotten it yet. We paid extra for expedited, but that's still 4-6 weeks processing time. Not including the time to mail the paperwork there. We paid like $20-30 extra to mail the passport back faster, but it was another fee to send the paperwork there faster (or vice versa, I can't remember lol). Hopefully it comes in the next week or 2. 🙂 Safe travels everyone! 💗

I called SOFI bank customer service and asked them point blank if I could access money via a free ATM in Africa and the customer service rep replied, "I doubt that we have anything in Africa". I thought the reply was weird. Anytime I don't get a precise answer I believe I'm talking with someone that doesn't know what they're doing, but combined with the fact that nothing shows up on the app, I think he might be right. President Joe Biden said that signing legislation into law on Thursday establishing June 19 as Juneteenth National Independence Day -- a US federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States -- will go down as "one of the greatest honors" of his presidency.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union Major General Gordon Granger announced the end of slavery in Galveston, Texas, in accordance with President Abraham Lincoln's 1863 Emancipation Proclamation. Only a handful of states currently observe Juneteenth as a paid holiday. The bill passed the House on Wednesday with a 415-14 vote after the Senate unanimously passed the legislation the day before. take care and God bless
