    My grandparents were farmers in Mississippi who lived off the land. They grew and sold crops, raised cows, hogs, chickens, goats, turkeys, etc. They planted fruit and nut trees and had a bayou with fish next to their home. It was wonderful visiting them and eating natural foods. Current generations must learn how to be self-sufficient. You never know when you may need it.

    I think the locals are so us to chips and rice and beans, they see eating out with you guys as a treat. When I was in Tanzania over the summer for a month the locals would hangout and eat with us always on our dime.

    You both look quite healthy, well and happy. I agree walking about is the best way to get familiar with a place. Finding vegan food more accessibly will get easier as you are there. Live within your means and you'll be fine. Showing off will only cause prices to go up. It's not fair that the diaspora is being overcharged. Be familiar with what the actual costs are ( what local s pay). Try to study the language and make friends which can help you. You both have the right attitude. Being realistic and thrifty is best. Good luck.

    You don't find many options in Tz Restaurants Because many people prefer to make food at home, unless they're far from home they'll reach a restaurant. It's very cheap to make your own food than buying it from a restaurant

    • @FullyMichellethecreative
      @FullyMichellethecreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree but we were speaking on vegan restaurants specifically. In which we’ve actually found a few more options since this video was posted.
      And I understand they cook at home lol I do too 90% of the time! 🙌🏾 It’s definitely alot cheaper

      I'm so much loving you guys and I'm actually living in TH-cam Right now watching your videos the experience/ challenges you are facing while you are here, I would like to congratulate you guys for finally deciding to move here to make a change.
      I mean this your Origin you've have every right to be here, Tanzania just like any other African country still have a lot of challenges but then alot of Opportunities within it, Most Africans ( Black westerners) don't want to be part of the change but they want changes in almost everything they see. Every problem you see is an opportunity to make things better for you and your Generations.
      I've barely had a sleep for the past 3 day watching all these videos y'all are posting, It's so nice and addictive to be watching y'all experiencing the life that I've experienced for like 26 years😂 lol

    T3&me is only paying 350.00 for their house you guys pay almost double. I think its about finding the deal on a nice place. I honestly do not want a big house I want that 350-400.00 price it could be a 2-3 bedroom on one floor. Its about being smart and budgeting your money.

    Hello guys,
    I loved your updated on life in TZ, I have one questions though regarding the lack of restaurants catering/providing vegan/alkaline friendly food that you guys mentioned in the video. Do you guys think there is a large demographic of people in Arusha in particular that might be interested in such an idea, if a restaurant/café were to open providing that would it attract just expats or would the Tanzanians also be interested. I obviously understand that you've only been there for 8 months so you might not be able to provide an overly in depth answer however, thank you in advance.
    sending my hellos from Australia.

    • @FullyMichellethecreative
      @FullyMichellethecreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, that’s actually a great question! As far as the few Tanzanians we’ve encountered, most could careless for the vegan/alkaline friendly foods and/or restaurants. It would definitely be for more so of the expats. Another reason I believe so, is there is actually one vegan/alkaline vegan restaurant we go to quite often and no Tanzanians has been there. Mostly the wyt travelers!

    Thanks for the video. Speaking on being vegan and not having options there, they don't have to deal with the contaminated meat, unethical killing, and the corporate greed of how meat is produced like in the US. They don't pump their food with harmful chemicals like the US. This is why most likely in their eyes that's no need for it. I agree that food in general there needs some variety and they do just keep to what they know.

    • @FullyMichellethecreative
      @FullyMichellethecreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว
