Having been a social worker for some 34 years I appreciate what you're doing for others in recovery. An addict needs to hear this from one who has been there. They will relate very easily to what you have to say.

I've been on suboxone for almost 5 years, i've been tapering down to 1,8 mg a day.. I get motivated by watching you talk about it.. I almost compete with myself everyday, " can I get down to 1,5 today ", like a challenge.. It's really hard for me though, but I have to do it.. I wanna have real feelings again, right now Im just depressed. I train everyday now. I run / walk and go to the gym everyday. You guys made me starting my taper. I just wanna say thank you. Greetings from Sweden!

I loved this video. I am a senior, but I was put on Subutex for pain and I want off! I joined a group called mygoodhabits with Charlie Goldsmith and while I cut down on the medicine, I eat all unprocessed foods, plant based, and no sugar and I meditate daily. I also walk for about 45 minutes every couple of days. These things have changed my entire life for the better and I am so glad that young people like yourself are touting the good results of really taking good care of ourselves. I wish I could truly explain to people how all of that is so important to good mental, physical, and emotional health. Thanks.

I was on Heroin for 4 years and suboxone 19 years. Today I'm 10 days off everything, still feel some withdrawal symptoms and don't sleep much but I'm coping . 23 years on opiates was one hell of a trip , anxiety for going into withdrawal was the worst and a major reason why I used suboxone so long. I was mentally afraid of the withdrawal symptoms and became a funtional suboxone addict for 19 years. Anyways, I'm clean now and happy. Good content , greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦

Meditation is very important and for most of us, it’s neglected. It’s strange because many of us have ocd to one extent or another. It’s real easy to get stuck in our heads. Meditation is a Strong Key, along with proper nutrition, supplements, sleeping right, and exercise. It sounds like a lot of stuff. It really is, but one small step at a time is the way to do it. Keep on making videos, Matt, I’m sharing them with Recovery groups. I hope Greg is doing great, too. Lots of Love for you and Greg, Always!

Amen, to everything you said. I've noticed the people I know with addiction have the most talent and have so much to offer. You are very talented and the advice your putting out there really is what people need to hear. Most importantly anyone can do it even though their brain is telling them it's too hard. They will eventually get the courage to say enough is enough and take responsibility as long as they have people around them holding them accountable and not enabling them by thinking they're helping and instead harming. Know the difference people!!
Peace, love, happiness, and good health is at the end of your path to recovery!!!

day 7 and relapse. I take subs but ended up take some morphine in fear that the subs take longer to get out. I know thats just the addict mind set and im soo mad at myself. its like 7 days of hell was for nothing. Rehabs turned me down because I was self tapper and wasn't abusing the medicine. I called them today saying how they rejected me and now I relapsed, and now they said they will see me but not till the 12th . People that want help should never be turned away I was mind blown. my insurance and sub doctor talked to the rehabs to because I told them how they rejected me. Its not easy this is my 3rd time coming off subs I been doing it for about 10 years. each time I relapse it on subs stranger as that sounds I just know that all I got to do is pee dirty one time and ill get a life time supply of subs! The system needs to be exposed! they get u hooked on subs and when u want off that all they say is tapper down, well for me 2mg or 8mg of subs doesn't matter the dose the withdrawals feel the same. If they think were addicts and know we have a hard time stopping then why the hell give us something that's more addicting and then not offer real help when its time to stop. Everyone I know on subs is ether stuck on it or relapse and get sent away. why not just do that from the start if the person is willing and wants to take nothing! like other have said I just want to feel again, I want to feel like me. The best I ever felt health wise was the year I did in the county jail and thats a shitty feeling. I almost called the jail just to ask if they would lock me up for 20 days as a detox cuz the rehabs rejected me. Its sad when u want to go there to get clean but idk what else to do

Spot on! Also first 3 days are the hardest! What people don't know you need to keep your core temperature down! Ice cream 🍦 really helps! People also don't even take the green stuff that is pure evil suboxne is the lesser evil it's easier to get of herion then getting of methadone! Addiction is only in the head sure you will have physical withdrawal for 3 days rest is all in the head 👍 luck to all ya!

I looked in my wallet for the hell of it and lo and behold 2 and 1/2 suboxone strips! I immediately put 1/3 strip under my tongue and 40 minutes later the anxiety went away and I felt sooo much better. I've been taking 1/8 of a strip a day since down to 2 more doses and I'm done. Nailed it with the gut. I try telling this to people and they think I'm kidding. I started taking fiber and getting my digestion on track and it makes a drastic difference. Some game changers for me also were zinc and magnesium before bed. Deeper sleep, better morning wood, sounds silly but opioid users lose that and I wake up less irritated. When on Suboxone I wake up edgy. I've been working on tapering. Slowly. I tried to fast. I went off years back with no plan and got to month 4 and my sister was in town and gave me something and I started all over again. Now I know why my wife doesn't like her. Although I should have said no. I was doing so good. I was back to myself a little. I wasn't training much but I knew that would come back slowly. I'm a lifter. Has been my obsession since I was little. I wasn't doing it. But I would here and there and slowly. I wish that all didn't go down. But it happened and I'm working on it again. I have a kid and a kid and that's my only focus. Ive done it before. When I get off, which I always end up doing, I will learn other ways. Going for a walk and losing my mass is more important than not wanting to lift and use. This was probably confusing but those are my thoughts

Great advice! People don't realize how toxic and addictive the normal american diet is. And exercise, man, you can get as high as heroin with enough exercise . No joke. I initially was attracted to heroin because it made me feel like i did when i been skating or surfing all day long. Totally relaxed and mentally disconnected from the problems of the world. I’ve been addicted for two years, lost my script and now I’m trying to get off of 6mg everyday to nothing. I only have enough for a week. I’m trying to figure out the quickest way to get off of it. Feels like my only options are cold turkey or take a little bit when I need it the most until I run out

I went from 8 mg to 0,4 in 7 years. Stopped and after 2 weeks I went back on and now I'm on 12mg for last 3 years. I stopped me taking gear, but I use crack instead. I lost a hope to be honest, just trying to reduce risks.

User Unknow kratom is the reason I’m trying to come off suboxone. Used kratom for 11 years and it turned me into a shell. When I realized this fact on friggen subs, you know it’s not as innocent as people make it out to be, so be careful. Use it for physical detox and try to drop it if you can. I know this post is a bit old, but be careful with that stuff. Ive been on subs for 5 weeks now and down to 1mg. I was supposed to be off by now, but slowed it down a little bit. I NEED to be off in more than 3-4 weeks (tops). I’m the best man in 2 big ass friggen weddings the first week of February. Normally I’m an outgoing guy, but kratom and now suboxone has made my anxiety god awful. Good times....
