You know how Monika wanted to be with US, the player, and not MC, the character? Well what if it's the opposite for Mateo? He wants to be with FeMC, not us. I can infer this from some of his lines in the song, like "This here world is OUR reality!" meaning that maybe, he doesn't want to accept that his world is fake, and wants to disassociate himself from everything about our world, including us. Edit: plus the line "It's her; she's the key to my heart now you just leave us be" is also some evidence that points to my theory. Idk, just some thoughts (Also, I am a SIMP for Natsuko)

I know this was heavily requested and to see it finally release is awesome! I'm not sure where you have the idea it's just a simple lyric video as, yes, while it primarily consists of it, you did a lot to make it a fully-fledged little story that represents the track as a whole and I appreciate that, especially near the end with the quick edits (I imagine that was either annoying as hell or fun to make!) and the glitches! It takes a lot to put together a project of numerous people besides yourself and bring it together not only in the direction department but also with mixing the whole group AND editing the entire video, so I hope the reception is fitting to how long-awaited this was and how superb the end product was. So basically Monicos talking to US by saying "it's her, she's the key" his talking about Uh girl MC but for the other parts of the song? To us. Don't really understand much about what happens in this version of the song but i do understand Monicos blaming us for the other boys being deleted and not us blaming Monika in ddlc for the deletion of the girls. ( i have played the games including ddlc plus )
@lyka sky im not 100% sure but whenever moniko is used i think it's just a general switch in genders, but when they say mateo i think it's talking about the ddlc switcheroo mod where they take up more guy-ish characteristics and personality
check MWRoach twt or her discord for specific instructions + mod, but you generally just download the zip file of the mod and just copypaste the contents from the zip/winrar file to the ddlc “game” sub folder in the ddlc folder source: ddlc wiki
