Just so everyone is aware to what my creative process is while writing lyrics is: While using the best English Translation I can find online (and with my very limited knowledge of Japanese), I write singable lyrics that match the syllable count while trying to stay as close to the original meaning as possible. I make an effort to keep the same amount of ambiguity the original producer has in their lyrics (this goes for all songs I write lyrics for, not just this one). And sometimes we all interpret songs differently- and that’s ok!!
So if these lyrics aren’t to your liking or you feel it means something else, you’re more than welcome to theorize. Though, if possible, don’t bash my, or anybody else’s lyrics if you don’t agree. It’s not easy making a Japanese song singable in English while keeping the original meaning and syllable count- especially with fast songs where a clean flow is necessary.

I had an idea for the "I wanna be all that you need, I want to make it last," part while listening to the original song with subtitles on, it says "I drown in the ideal everyone wants," which with the syllables could be translated to "Now I'm drowning in ideals that everybody wants." Just my silly little musical brain being dumb.

Honestly, this song is very relatable. For basically my whole life, I have had no idea on who I am. To me, this song is about not knowing who you are and being a people pleaser. I’ve been like that my whole life. I love this cover and the lyrics that were written for this song still capture the original feeling of the song! Your covers are all amazing, Rachie! An alternate interpretation of this is it's about a kid in a dangerous family situation who became a master manipulator to survive, because the character in the animatic with the covered face seems like an abuser with the way they seem to control the main character. The quotes talking about acting very carefully and "not wanting them to know me" seem very much like the main character is hiding themself and putting up a shield of deception to protect themself from being hurt. The bridge makes me think about the kinds of things kids and teenager talk about, showing the main character trying to act like an innocent kid, possibly to protect themself from being hurt by the people in their life and particularly their abuser. The line about not giving into murder is interesting and I interpret it as being about intrusive thoughts, which are common in abuse victims, especially if they were abused from a young age or for a long time. It could also be about the main character's pent-up anger towards their abuser yet trying their best to not give in as they don't know what their abuser would do to them if they lashed out. Another line that makes me interpret the song this way is "Sometimes we say no but we're always meaning yes", which could be about the main character never taking no for an answer and swaying things to go their way as they feel they have to have complete control over everything to be safe. And the part about "blowing us all away" could be about the "perfect" image the main character creates as a cover, and gets over-praised as a result. It also looks like the abuser uses this to manipulate the main character in the animatic. And lastly, the main character "killing" their own feelings sounds like they are making their own identity malleable for survival.
Perhaps the bitter coco decoration is a metaphor for the “love” the abuser gives the main character. The line “be sure to eat it till it’s gone and don’t you say a word” could mean she has to accept the “love” even though it’s not real love and the picky eater line could be the abuser getting mad that the main character won’t accept their “love”. All the other things it mentions with the bitter coco decoration could show what the abuser’s “love” is really like.
1:12 it perfectly fits with that thought process if you think that way, but this song also fits for those people who have this Deep abandonment issues in them, then at this part the person either backed out from asking, i came up with 2 reasons:-
First they were contracting their own theory, by meeting with someone, they will get to know the protagonist.
Second, the protagonist can't bear to hear the no for their answer whether it's from friends or abuser.
Third, the protagonist, if suffering from abandonment issues, the other person will notice that the protagonist is not as they have appeared they are a cringy person and everyone will know the real protagonist "blow us all away" symbolises the cover has been blown

I may post my interpretation on a few videos just because I know a lot of people want theories about this song.
My interpretation is that this song is about autistic masking. Autistic masking is a lot like regular social masking (pretending to be someone you’re not to appease social norms) that everyone experiences, but autistic masking is masking on hardcore mode. Autistic people are more likely to act in a way society deems to not be “appropriate”, and often get negative reactions from others that can range from harsh punishments to demonization to gaslighting.
All of this starts at a remarkably young age, and often times many autistic people are unable to understand the social concepts necessary to predict we are doing something “socially inappropriate”. This means, from the moment an autistic person is brought into the world, every interaction is like a minefield. We can’t figure out what makes the bombs go off. They just do.
One of the common socially inappropriate traits is sensory issues with food, being labeled by others as “picky eating”, as we see with our main character. Further, it is clear this character is in a controlled environment where they are being forced to partake in this. Many focus on forcing autistic people into masking. Such “therapies” can take up 40 hours a week in extreme cases, and therapists may withhold food, water, comfort items, and affection to get the desired responses.
As these kids “grow up”, they will suffer physically and mentally from their constant years of masking, whether they do it subconsciously or consciously. Prolonged masking can lead to autistic burnout, where the exhausted autistic persons brain stops masking entirely. They act “more autistic” or “worse” than before, and to most of society, that is a problem with the person themselves and not their environment.
You may be wondering how I know all this? Well. I am one of these autistic kids, all grown up, feeling burnt out every day and working to accept my own neurodivergence. It does so much damage to your ability to put up social boundaries as many autistic people are so excluded by society, we would do anything for the possibility of unconditional acceptance.
Anyway, this song is legitimately awesome, no matter how you interpret it!

I don't have any mental disabilities that I know of, but I have a physical one that kids constantly made of me because of the brace I have to wear. So I never 'got' social cues, and kids used that fake being my friend to hurt me. The brace, how my face was never quite able to make the 'right face', or my 'out there' personality, and I eventually just shut downed. I barely talked, became stone faced, and started to fester a hatred for my disability. I've been healing my scars over quarantine, and though the walls and fear are still there, I'm taking the first steps. Posting videos and streaming for social anxiety, make my own clothes to display my my personality even if I can't talk. It's a start...
