Hi Archie, my son has just bought a 68 reg A250 AMG Line and he cant connect to Apple carplay, it says " deactivated " can it be activated via the " dealer mode " ?great vids by the way 👍👍
Hi! Unfortunately any Aclass before 2020 didn’t come with CarPlay as standard. You have to purchase it as an additional option through the Mercedes me store. From memory it’s around 200 quid which activates a lifetime licence for you!
Yeah that’s really odd? My car now has the dashcam feature available to purchase? Perhaps it’s something they thought was useless after testing on other models?

So in order to favourite a destination that is not saved you can access it through “previous destinations” and favourite it through there by holding down the touchpad! In regards to name changes I believe if you enter the favourites destination menu then hold down the touchpad on the destination you want to edit it should give you the option to change name!
I know engineering mode exists however I don’t believe without coding there is possibility to access it without connecting to the Mercedes system… there are plenty of videos showing it but none explaining how to get there in the first place!
Unfortunately not without the Mercedes software, i had a play to see if I could with just a basic obd reader and my laptop but it’s not as easy as that!

I believe all mbux cars should come with navigation as standard? I’m not sure if this Varys by country but in the UK it should come pre loaded to the car!

So I’ve done a bit of research and it appears that Mercedes have REMOVED the ambient lighting in all the seat headrests and in the rear footwell! Without changing the list price, which seems bonkers to me… so unfortunately it doesn’t seem like your car is fitted with them ☹️… if you want to double check you should be able to go into the comfort settings -> ambient lighting and then you should be able to see what zones are lit… however judging by what I can find on forums cars built after December 2020 no longer have the full ambient lighting!

Hello! I actually ordered a 2021 GLC with the Augmented reality feature, however I still would have had to pay extra for a “Dash Cam” feature. I would have guessed they were the same system, but maybe it’s Mercedes way of getting a little extra money.
Hey! Firstly congratulations on the new car! The dash cam feature I’ve been told is a paid extra due to some countries having regulations about dash cams! It’s a pain but will save a lot of hassle if you were ever to have an accident! (Fingers crossed you never do) Hope you enjoy the car!

I don’t believe there has been a statement made yet from Mercedes however I’d predict within the next year. However, if Mercedes decides to replace Mbux with an updated system then the dash cam feature may never appear!
Definitely a money maker. No matter who owns the car they will want the in-built dash cam (given it serves its purpose) and base it off the average age of ownership these days. Especially with more and more people leasing, owning cars on PCP and companies owning vehicles, needing to keep up with safety standards. Why would they not make this a feature? They brought out a car designed to be more affordable to the masses and have found another way to make them money via simple update. Minimal spending for a product that doesn't require any removal of panels or retrofitting of cables If i were them though, i'd keep pricing to and absolute minimum, like £20 for the year. Dash cams are cheap, there's even some good ones up to the price of £100. Plus keep it low to justify a price increase in the next model for a slightly better camera and covering more costs. Soon "Hey Mercedes" will be performing Alexa tasks, so you don't require adaptations to get your garage open and the kettle on as you arrive home.

I believe it will, it’s essentially just brake boosting! Just ensure you are in the highest mode your car has, and turn off esp!

I don’t believe unless you take it to a specialist that it can be turned off permanently as it’s a “safety feature”
