    I've always been a Laker fan, but the 86 Celtics team is the best I ever saw play the game. With a reasonably healthy Bill Walton, their frontline was unstoppable.

  • @HRConsultant_Jeff
    @HRConsultant_Jeff 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I would have loved to watch the practices where Walton is guarding Parrish or Me Hale and the rest of the bench countering the starting five. I went to High School with Bill and his brothers and our backup center in high school was 6'10". Bill truly loves the game and even trained with Shaq when he was still at LSU to develop his footwork. Wish he had spent more time with him on shooting freethrows.

    There might not be no team that I respect more than the 86 Celtics. Just dominant. So well oiled. A great team at their peak.

    The 1986 Celtics were for sure one of the best teams in NBA history they were so dominant

    You missed one thing in your summary at the end. In addition to having a shooter, a Cookie Monster, rebounder, defender, and passing, that team had a serious chip on their shoulder. The Celts not only wanted beat teams but they wanted destroy their opponents and kill their will to even be on the same court. That’s something you just don’t see in today’s NBA game.

    In 1996 to commemorate the NBA's 50th anniversary they put together a list of the 50 greatest players in NBA history. FOUR players from the list were on the '86 Celtics - Bird, Parish, McHale and Walton. Whoa.

    In this video you see Robert Parish up and down the court and move like a forward... You forget he was 7'1". He would dominate in todays NBA

    It comes down to the 86 Celtics or the 95 Bulls.
    I completely understand why someone would choose the Bulls, given those options. I would counter by saying this: the league was much deeper from top to bottom in 1986. Not only was the East more loaded, but the finals opponent during the 1990s was never going to be as good as the Showtime Lakers. In other words, MJ, Scottie, and company had an easier path... *much* easier.

    Saw Cousy and Russel play on the parquet floor, in the stifling smoke filled heat; with dead spots only known by the Celtic Roster. Great times for a young child, even though the Knicks and Walt Frazier, Jerry Lucas and Dave Debaucher later won my heart.

    Like many I grew up a Lakers fan. From Jabbar and West to Kobe and Shaq. But when it came to the Boston Celtics and the playoffs…I converted I jumped ship becoming a Celtic fan. I can’t explain it. Just loved what Casey Jones was doing. Wanted the Celtics to win over whomever they met in the playoffs…especially the Lakers.

      What I love about your channel first thing , you're your own person and not a reaction clone doing and saying what other reactioners are doing and saying . second thing , you don't constantly do stupid things like pause and walk away and act over dramatic just to get more likes which I think is played out by many , third. , you have invested in your channel i.e. bigger screen , great speakers , and volume research for optimum sound volume and quality. I don't know if you wprk another job or just do reaction videos exclusively but you have definitely taken it on as a business and if I had more money I would definitely send you some for your efforts! You've just got a great channel. Don't hate me because I'm not subscribed I'm just so busy normally that I can't watch so many videos but when I can I like to watch you and Sean David!!

I have future plans on upgrading the channel and taking it to the next step as well. I try to make sure whatever content I put out and the quality of it is enjoyable to watch. The main goal on achieving your dreams is by being yourself💯 Thank you again bro

      Well Matt I have enjoyed everyone of your videos and have learned a lot too! I've watched some several times just because of your presentation i.e. screen size , volume level & clarity , plus your editing is really good in that you don't constantly talk over the video that you are showcasing like many others do. I started watching Sean David first and the saw your channel and started watching yours too. Yours and Seans are equally the two best hands down!

      Montreal won the cup, so the Bruins didn't make the finals, but the '85 pats did play the super bowl in jan '86.... and, yes, the red sox lost a heartbreaker to the Mets (Bill Buckner's famous error had a hand in that)

    The question isn’t which team is the winningest. It’s which is the best. If you look at the off-ball movement, passing and crazy offensive and defensive boards, the ‘86 Celtics are my favorite team.

    Being a New York Bronx Boy… this team destroyed my New York Knicks… watching the transition of Michael Ray Richardson and Ray Williams Marvin Webster and Cartwright and the career ending injury to Bernard King…Getting Patrick Ewing… still didn’t have that second and third piece… and the Celtics smoke them!!! I remember going to a game at Madison Square Garden and bird was having an off night I believe in the first quarter you only scored three or five points in the second quarter was just as bad… right at the end of the second quarter he called though the ball boy and had them set out two racks while everybody was in and then before the start of the third quarter he was the first one out with two more racks… he didn’t miss a shot the second half… he was the goat back then!!!

    Insufferable Boston sports fans maybe but you can't fault them for loving that team and those players. They were great but they were also scrappers and they were great personalities. Bird was one of the funniest guys in the history of sport just the way other players describe his trash talk.

    i Truly Belive that the 87 Celtics could even a better Team than the 86,if the tragedy with bias and Injuries didnt happened.
    Im Think in 87 The Celtics had still the best Starting 5 But if you watch some of the Games special in the Playoffs the bench was outscored often by 20 pts or more .
    and than in the Finals The Big 3 where all Injured + Walton

  • @vCLOWNSHOESv
    @vCLOWNSHOESv 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I believe the 86 Celtics were the best team of the 80s but the 80s had some great teams. Magic, Kareem and the Lakers had some tough squads but so did some teams that didn't win a lot of titles. Detroit won in 89 and 90 so one in the 80s but they were a great team that would have won more if Jordan and his Bulls didn't end them in 91. Philadelphia had some great teams in the 80s and a rivalry with Boston so the Celtics not only had success they had success against a lot of tough opposition. Other teams I think could have really challenged the 86 Celtics besides the best Lakers team of the Magic era would be Jordan's Bulls. Chicago was a great defensive team and a great rebounding team as well but the 86 Celtics had the greatest big 3 of all time with Parrish at center, McHale at power forward and Bird at small forward. Front line goes to Boston but the Bulls full court press would take time off the shot clock for Boston and their half court game. Pippen, Jordan and Rodman were 3 of the top 4 defensive players in the league with Hakeem being the other one and all 3 of them were making plays all the time for Chicago. I recall Jordan losing 2 playoff series to the Celtics but that was 86 Celtics when Jordan was in his second year on a horrible team. Despite Boston being a much better team they had no way to even slow Jordan down. His team lost but Jordan went off for 63 against them and carried his bad team to a double overtime game at the Boston garden. The best Bulls teams were great teams so the 86 Celtics would have to deal with the rest of the team and a Jordan they had no way to even slow down so I say the Bulls are the team that would beat the 86 Celtics if anyone could.
