Just did a run with the Bloody Helice and learned some neat things about the weapons skill: 1. Unlike waterfowl dance, you can delay the followup inputs for a significant amount of time. So after you dodge just wait and see if its safe to do the followup and then R2. 2. You can also just chain the dodge by pressing L2 again instead of the followup. Very good option when its not safe to do the followup. 3. Some enemies are hard to hit with the followup because they dodge backwards (for example the gargoyles). In this case you should unlock the camera, turn your character so their back is facing the enemy, and then use the weapon skill to dodge INTO the enemy. Super stylish and still very effective. Just make sure your not sprinting, as that annyoing turn around animation locks you out if the weapon skill.
I Hope the golden order greatswords will get buff or rework. This weapon look so cool and should be the ultimate holy paladin greatswords in my opinion.

Establish order on the golden order greatsword is really good against undead enemies, it kills them super fast and they don’t resurrect after. I always use it when fighting undead 100% of the time.
I have tested corpse pillar & bloodflame nagakiba with mods. With 60 arcane corpse pillar still outperforms bloodflame in terms of bleed build up (almost by x2). And bloodblade dance first combo does 60 stance damage if you hit everything & 2nd combo does 30 stance damage. Moonveil does 30 stance damage if you hit with the blade & only 14 with the projectile.
You really do produce the best Elden ring content. Thank you youwy. Also… please make a ranking of all gravity-based weapons (meteoric ore blade, star scourge, alabaster sword, onyx lord, wing of astel, astel flail thing, etc)
I think my 3 favs are the godslayers greatsword skill (wish it had more hyper armor), the dragon bolt from the bolt of gransaxx, and silurias tree. Silurias woe is so strong it’s so slept on
If you’re running STR/INT, the Helphens Steeple will out dmg the Dark Moon Greatsword by a respectable margin, which is why I use it. Plus you can use the AOW as an attack as it does dmg. I’m also a contrarian though so if something is meta or super powerful I make a conscious effort to not use it for some reason 😂
Also very based on choosing Marika's hammer as favourite. I don't like NG+ but still wanted to play a run with it. So I cheated it for early access. And I love that thing. awesome skill. Don't think I ever got knocked out of it
Vykes dmg issue: if the spear hits the enemy then the explosion won’t. Explosion does more damage. You have to land farther from the enemy so the spear misses.
I don’t think that’s it. There’s been times where that bonus damage comes in when hit directly and also times where I miss with the weapon and it still does bad damage
Nice to see Marika's hammer getting some love, my run with this weapon was amazinly fun. Then again I might be biased - I've had a thing for hammers ever since I picked up the craftsman's hammer in DS2.
For the Vyke Spear, the good damage only happens if you hit the enemy with *only* the AOE, as opposed to the normal attack. For some reason the AOE does more damage than the attack and the attack denies the AOE damage.
My latest play through is using the godslayer blade and honestly i think its great how it is. It’d be way too OP if you could just spam it and hyperarmour every hit. I like waiting for openings or stance breaks and then using it to rip half a bosses health off. But i may have an unpopular opinion here, I just like playing without just spamming ashes constantly

“This may be the best _______ in the entire game” 😂
Waterfowl does work with multi hit talismans (or at least it did 3 months ago when I get ng7)
Vykes war spear has a sour and sweet spot that's why it seems so bad sometimes
BB is just boring. Strong weapon, but very boring to play with.
BB is shortcut of what weapon?
@@JackTheRipperk5 Blasphemous Blade

Yeah, first is good, but then it's became monotonic and then it's boring
Number 14, what armor or outfit is that?
Nights Cavalry
To answer your question, the helphen steeple is a much more skilful and fun weapon than DMGS. DMGS is good for low skill spammers as all you do is L2 and R1 chains.
Translation: DMGS is better, so some people go with the worse weapon to feel better about themselves
@@cordyceps182 Yh but damage is less fun and just cheese through the game. I used a blasphemous blade build on my first playthrough and I didn’t get to appreciate the game as much as with a more difficult, ‘worse’ weapon.
@@cordyceps182 also I’m sorry to say but between somebody whose entire gameplay revolve around pressing l2 and someone who actually learns to beat the actual boss using a ‘worse’, the person with the ‘worse’ weapon is probably better at the game
@@polototo3041 who cares elden ring is not sekiro .
@@andrei-cezarbleaje5519 I guess you are right. I just wish content creators made less builds on l2/ jump attack spamming and more on cool weapons like the helphen steeple instead of calling them ‘worse weapon’. I’m just tired of always seeing the same ‘overpowered’ build on TH-cam
Magma guillotine carried me through most of my first play through 😂
"the third attack does like way more than the first two attacks and I'm not sure why"
Immediately proceeds to mention the long animation between the first two and third hits
That's why buddy, it's a long animation that's hard to pull off, making the third hit do more damage makes it worth trying to pull off
Unfortunately not every weapon/spell/ability with a long animation sticks to this design philosophy lol
Also if great serpent hunt had a projectile or range extension folks would be dodging you in PvP like most people dodge margit the first time "begin panic rolling when the animation starts, run out of stamina by the time it finishes and get hit"
