Thanks for having me on board this one, guys! It was an honor!
Hey man really appreciate it dude, was nice to meet you properly :-)
+Rabea Massaad you should try and sound like Freddie King! got such a fun and distinctive sound that you guys should have fun trying to recreate! you always go a great job with these. was so impressed with the Gary Moore one!
thanks for showing up Glen! Now they're going to do one for the bass guitar and have you there just to torture you ;)
randy was worried about van halen a lot more
before van halen 1 was released, vh was playing in a club and randy was astonished by eddy tone and playing he asked him how does he does to get the tremolo to stay in tune, eddy acted a bit like an asshole and that's why randy probably didn't spoke about him being an influence.
IDEA: Bea does the cheap version of the rig, Matt gets as close to the real rig as possible and they do a side-by-side comparison.
Tyler Saltmarsh that’s actually good
Do this, do this now
Ooo I love shootouts
I own a Jackson Rhoads custom US which was build to the actual specs of Randys second black Jackson Rhoads.
I tried my Jackson and a MXR distortion + from 1995 into my Mesa Boogie Quad preamp crunch channel. It does sound pretty Randy like.
I doubt this would ever happen as he is a bass player, but I'd love to see you guys try to sound like cliff burton
That's a cool idea
sure they did royal blood.. and bought a bass an bunch a peddles for around 1500. So they may
maybe they'll do lemmy as well
yea but there is only a bass in royal blood so i think thats why they did it
Maybe they could do it for the Metallica by busting the bank
Rabea, you may not sound exactly like Randy Rhodes but you are still phenomenal, mate. It's always a pleasure to listen to you.
Ahh cheers man! I appreciate that ;)
I totally agree!
Rabea Massaad I also very much enjoy hearing your playing. Keep these videos up because I enjoy the heck out of them over in the US.
Yep, he sure can play... I'd be happy to be half as good
WillJ Greetings from Canada
I love how they always say "solo attempt" it's shows some real respect and deference to a legend like randy. I'm no metal fan but randy is hands down one of the greatest guitarists of all time
Rabea you did a great job copping Randy's licks!! You are an incredible guitarist! Thank you for your channel and helping me and other guitarists to figure our how to put together the components to try and get our favorite guitarist's tone.
I could swear that guy is the real life Side Show Bob.
You guys rock..I've been a Randy Rhoads monster fan from the very beginning. I appreciate the input you have given for his tone, especially what can be done on a budget and creativity.
Very, very cool, guys. Thanks!
Sound like my ex wife's lawyer without busting the bank ?
Dude! damn
Hahahaha oh god, this had me laughing!!!
Ha ha ha.........awesome dude😂
best thing about girls today is no need to even date, let alone marry \/\/
It'll be the hardest one yet
Love these, but something Id love to see you do... Seeing as there are 2 of you, it would be interesting if you alternated every episode where 1 gets to do "with out breaking the bank" while the other does "while breaking the bank". It would be interesting to see a direct comparison of the price to sound difference.
+Jack Dry The DSL 40 is a tube amp.
I second that
rabea is so humble. solo "attempt"
He nailed that solo tho
Aaditya M999 he switched up some parts, but it's as good as the original
@@aadityam9999 Nailed it lol ?? Really ?? How bout not..Have you ever listened to the song lol ??
@@nicolemichlovsky2505 I meant he did a good job playing the solo and putting a twist on it. Just because it wasn't note for note doesn't mean it wasn't good
@@aadityam9999 agree to disagree I guess...naled it means done perfectly note for note..In my world anyway lol...
Rabea mate, you killed the solo!
Absolutely extraordinary. Impeccable playing.
sound like yngwie malmsteen!!
(i just want to see them do it)
YES!! YNGWIE MALMSTEEN!!!!
Yeah, I'd love to see Rabea bust out Black Star and Trilogy Suite Op 5
Or.... Boz Boorer?
Strat, dsl40, reverb, delay, dod250
YES! MALMSTEEN!
What I've learned from this series: Marshall DSL 40 is the greatest amplifier ever created
ClamFishing I don't know if the greatest but clearly the most versatile.
dsl-401 from England is better, if you can find one...
It wasn't the greatest...the DSL40CR is the greatest! 😇😇😇
@@s4lroachclipI tell myself that every time my UK made JCM 2000 is in for repair 😞
If you have to take it in for repair more than twice, take it to a repair tech that knows how to actually repair it?@@youngmike8645
Rabea is insanely talented. I have watched probably 20 of these videos and he nails every style.
All I can say is damn, brother.
I love randy. One of the reasons i started playing guitar. Love u all at andertons and cant wait to visit for the first time
This would be the coolest job in the world
Still waiting for sounding like Randy Rhoads by busting the bank :D
Awsome vid by the way, keep up the great work :)
I'm really glad I watched this video. The use of chorus on solos is subtle yet effective and I don't think I would have ever found out about it if I hadn't watched this
I just bought a Marshall DSL 40C because of all these videos and holy cow droppings, it is as wonderful as they make it out to be. I must have tried out no less than 10 amps over the course of 5 weeks, but kept going back to the Marshall. For the money, for the sound quality, for the "Marshall Sound"... I went with the DSL40. Great job, guys.
Rhandy rhoads by busting the bank
Clay Collins yesss. Would love to see that.
by using randy rhoads signature marshall amp and cabinet , distortion plus , gibson les paul custom or heritage les paul ,gibson flying v , jackson randy rhaods v

MXR Stereo Chorus
MXR Flanger
MXR Ten Band EQ
EHX POG (for Over The Mountain Guitar Solo)
Dunlop Wah
Minus the effects other than distortion the v3 carvin combo can come close
Been 2 years and still waiting
I've got to say, Rabea, you played amazing on this "sound like". Great job! :D
Favorite Sounds Like for my favorite guitar player! Great playing Rabea! Awesome seeing Glenn as well!
That was absolutely brilliant that guys, cheers!
Rabea's "Feel Faces" trying to mimics RR's playing ROCK!!! Kudos Mate!
Sounds like Megadeth, Sounds like Avenged Sevenfold, and Sounds like Slayer
Epicness01sgr sound like a poser
Riki Merino sound like an elitist
Riki Merino 'poser' wtf are you talking about.
He probably said poser because Avenged Sevenfold was in here... what a shame.
I really don't understand why people think Avenged Sevenfold is a poser band.
That's was great! Huge Randy fan and that was spot on. Thank you!
I always enjoy your videos, for years I have always tried to sound like some of my inspirations (Clapton, Page, Beck, etc.) and when I was playing professionally in the late '80's, early '90's, I recall many guitarists running out and buying sig. model guitars from their favorite players. I bet they would've saved a ton of money of you guys were doing these videos then lol. A lot of the sound comes from the artist, as well, but you guys are very close! Keep up the good work!
Peace
Would love to see a sounds like of Sleep or Electric Wizard. Some real awesome Stoner/Doom band!
Absolutely. Or, at the very least, Black Sabbath!
sound like Boris, impossible.
Yeeeeah elecric wizzard, not so much doom/stoner content out there on yt.
acid king, eyhategod \M/
Sounds like Sunn O)))
Yeah.
No.
Electric Wizard. Loudest amp for least amount of money, Brittle distortion pedal, Les paul, 40 Modulation pedals
Sound like Nuno Bettencourt! PLEASE DO IT
If beazl weazl sees this he'll do it
might as well do eddie van halen..
I've been saying this for so long! YES!!
Beas a big fan isnt he? so thats a great suggestion
YES PLEASE
awesome vid guys, always enjoy these!
Yessssss! thanks so much guys! great job!
Repeat after me! SRV! SRV! SRV! SRV! SRV!
fender amp, strat and 306 tube screamers
after me
SRV SRV
SRV A THOUSAND TIMES!
Stephen Barlow (shhh I want to see rabea play srv!)
That Mr. Crowley attempt goes to show you really need to respect the architecture or it falls apart. Fun thing about Rhoads was how his solos changed in live performances ... by that I mean, not much.
He changed up one of the solos live by playing the start with chords. He kept to the structure but changed it up. Listen to more than a few live recordings.
@@jonseyjones321 There is the issue though. There is only a few live recordings of Randy, and even fewer that are of good quality.
YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!ANOTHER EPIC VID!!!THANKS!!
This is one of the better sounds like episodes, good going!
I saw Randy Rhoads twice and met him once.
Tom Tobin you're one lucky man!
Tom Tobin lucky dude
I saw him once and met him twice, get good
I hung out with him back in high school, and we would hang out in my basement and jam to all kinds of records or just talk about bands.. Tho we both started having different taste in music.. I really go harcore into early punk secen, and off course you all know what Randy did.. The man was just all about music.. you would never see him with out his guitar dude was on a another level.. R.I.P old Friend..
Rickey Ryan you're a lucky man. Must be sad losing a good friend, it was sad enough for everyone else, but even worse for you
Sound Like Satchel from Steel Panther!!!!!!!!
Look bitchin and you're good
+Harvey Djent you just won the internet dude, I bow down to you.
+Harvey Djent satchel ls a guitar god, especially because of hos bitchin' lookw
+Mads Harder Møller looks*
They should do this in character!
That sounded amazing!!!
I think that was fantastic! The sound and the playing!
Sounds pretty damn close! I think the icing on the cake would have been one of those doubler delay pedals to capture that sound of his double (sometimes triple) tracked solos!
Sound like Ritchie Blackmore
yessss Blackmore
yesssss
Of course yessss !
yesss!!
Got to do him
And bucket head
Probably the best Sounds Like guys, great job.
You guys are doing Randy proud. Thanks
could you do Brian May?
yes!
his signature guitar, rangemaster, AC30. he was a big rory gallagher fan, so tis basically rory's rig with the guitar Brian built himself
I second this!
aye thats not to say that i wouldn't be interested in seeing it
They already did Brian May.
14:50 just imagine ozzy singing “mr cowley”
Sounds incredible, good job guys. Rock on 🤘
Nice! Sounds pretty close! I'm happy now. I've been waiting for a long time for the Rhoads "Sounds Like."
Next sound like Pearl Jam !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed
I've litterally been asking for this since episode one! Haha
yes
Agree. Stone and Mike ftw!
YES, and with open d tuning for Gossard!
sound like Buckethead \m/
I hope there's a KFC in Guilford.
+James Santiago lol hahahaha
giallo pallo
But it won't fit
+James Santiago that's what she said
killswitch. congratulations you are buckethead
Superb solos! Really enjoyed it!
Great job!! That was an awesome tribute to RR
Glenn has a good suggestion for without busting the bank, IN FLAMES!!!
bjorn does have a signature les paul so they can get that
Rabea is a humble guy. He has some serious chops.
Wow sounds great! Good job gentlemen 👍
The EQ was amazing! I couldn't believe how well it shaped the tone
I’ve watched a lot of interviews with randy and just so ya know he didn’t use chorus on his solos only on clean the clean parts . But he did overdub them in the studio.
13:22 Give that camera man a cookie lmao
You guys did a great job. Sounds great!
Excellent video! Thanks!
You should do sounds like Ace Frehley, Or just KISS in general
@Steve Arnold ??
Joseph Wytkamp he was just being an edgy dick.
@@DrewPeabaws oh right cheers ahaha
Sounds like weezer! Please! It's a great tone.
Stratocaster and a Marshall. There you go!
+Jordan its a bit harder than that, rivers uses extremely hot pickups, they would probably go for an SG and a tele.
Back to the strat with the lightning strap!
Just buy a Fender Strat or a Telecaster.
VIOLA!
Instant Weezer.
followfornothing you literally could not be more wrong. The old weezer stuff was recorded on two vintage les pauls (one with p90s, one with humbuckers) for the distortion and a jaguar for the cleans, and they were played through a heavily modified mesa boogie Mk I head through a marshall 4x12. That's a lot of rare gear (particularly the amp, sounds kinda like a cranked fender with a distortion pedal over it) and it makes it really hard to get their exact sound. Closest I've come is my SG through my super champ X2 with a DS-2 over it, but it still wasn't quite there. And to the people suggesting hot pickups, I doubt that'll do much, none of weezer's 90s stuff used anything hotter than a PAF-style humbucker.
That crazy train solo was awesome! The tone for the intro riff sounded spot on aswell in my opinion
Absolutely great demo thank you very much for doing it
ok you finally got me..
i get an dsl40c
Sounds like Slayer.
No mids! All the gain!
Randi Bjørk More gain!
That fucking name and profile picture...kills me every time.... And now I'm just imagining a naked Captain screaming "SLAAAAAYEEEEER" while giving the horns....
some kind of BC Rich or ESP LTD, Marshall DSL40C and probably a Dimebag Darrell Wah pedal for Kerry's rig cos i've seen him use a Dimebag Darrel Wah pedal
+Randi Bjørk Kerry king actually uses a lot of mids compared to most other metal/thrash bands
You two are always saying you’re not even close. You two are close. Much appreciated.
My first time watching you guys and I have to say...fan freaking tastic! I love how you guys put all that gear together. And your playing is pretty amazing as well. It's funny that although he is associated with Marshall until until he was in Blizzard of Ozz, his amp set up was basically crap that he somehow got to sound good live with Quiet Riot. He was playing through a Peavey Bass head and A Bass cabinet loaded with Altec speakers. He also used an Echo-Plex tape echo on stage. And he always had that the Distortion Plus. It was the one with the script handwriting on it as opposed to the block writing. They did sound different as they were constructed with different components. Anyway, love the channel and your takes on these classic players. And, one last thing, the best Randy ever sounded, to my ears, was in his little room at the conservatory where he taught all us kids from the San Fernando Valley back in the late 70's. (I'm 58, so yes the math does work out.) When I studied with him, he was using an old solid state Vox amp and the Distortion plus for lessons. And it sounded freaking amazing. Looking back its' probably because it was two feet in front of me. But it really was mind blowing. Thanks again, guys!
7:11 - Crazy Train (solo)
8:57 - Diary of a Madman
11:06 - Crazy Train (riff)
14:41 - Mr Crowley (solo)
Can you do sound like Eric Johnson? One of the best guitar tone ever!
That was probably the best crazy train solo attempt I’ve ever seen.. you will never match The man himself.. I’ve seen thousands try and that was probably best I’ve ever seen.. all of it was damn good..
great job !! Love this series
Love how we were told about this video like a month in advance
Sound like Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead
yesssss
again lol
+jordan74 We will suceed, someday...someday
+James Is In Rainbows persistence lol
Stay strong my friends!!
You guys always do a good job
Cool vid,great playing boys
sound like eric johnson without busting the bank. good luck
Blow your budget just on the pedals lol
+Daniel I know x)
That would be an interesting one
...you just know it would be a MIM strat and the f***ing DSL 40 again haha
Sound like Eric Johnson BY busting the bank would be awesome too!
Sound like The Black Keys!!
Now that should be interesting and fun
they have already done it
they did the black keys, but you could do them BY busting the bank
They Did?! Thanks I'ma go look it up
Props for Rabea's chops! Well done!
Loved it, Thanks!
DO SOUNDS LIKE BUCKETHEAD
That is, if they are able to demonstrate the rig at all (if you know what I mean)
Impossible
Give the people what they want.
Sound like Alice in Chains/Jerry Cantrell - Without Busting The Bank! :D
Sounded GREAT Rabea \m/ Thanks for the info and entertainment!
Dude, you nailed that crazy train solo!
Sound like EVH!
Just lie a lot to the media and be a general douchebag...oh you meant playing guitar wise.
Lmao does he actually do that? Lie about what?
Read his Billboard interview in which he claims to listen to no other artists music or know anything about them, yet when Taylor Swift is mentioned he knows the name and obscure information about one of her song writers.
Or how he blames his cancer on guitar picks and recording studios and not the fact that he chain smoked and did every drug under the sun.
Or how he put down and insulted Michael Anthony's bass skills and claimed he had to teach him to play every song. Despite other band members claiming that was all bullshit. This is a massively skilled bassist, who is humble and nice, even refusing to say a mean thing back about the accusations.
Heck there is even some questions around how good he actually was with some band members claiming he would not let Michael Anthony really expand his playing because then it would become painfully obvious every time he messed up.
His guitar skills may be epic, but as a person he is a giant piece of shit.
Use evh and Eddie's hands
can we get a Sounds Like with either Steve Vai or Tosin Abasi?
easy. You don't. now go to law school and get a real job.
MCORP but mooom i hate law studies
+Triadixx be a good Triadixx and get yo ass to law school
MCORP No, you can't tell me what to do mom, im gonna go listen to Rage Against The Machine now and you cant stop me
steve has some signature Ibanez JEM guitars, the cheapest JEM is the JEM JR at around 400+ or you could use an RG if there's none left that are budget, for amps he uses Carvin Legacy which andertons don't have so Egnater Tweaker is a good call, for pedals he uses nearly everything, chorus, wah, delay, reverb you name it! so just get a wah, a delay, a chorus, a reverb and maybe a whammy depending on budget
Could watch you guys all day. Entertaining guys as well as informative who can actually play without the egos of some.
Love the vids!!!!
Im still praying for a sounds like jeff loomis......
yeah man!
and keith merrow
yeah! a conquering dystopia one would be bad ass!
Please do a sounds like randy rhoads by busting the bank
Epiphone Les Paul Custom White/Gold was the first guitar I ever purchased with my own money as a teenager. Greatly overlooked and sounds really good through a decently wired tube amp. Wish I still had it now lol.
Very helpful!!! Thank you for sharing.
Boys, do a sounds like..... of Judas Priest without and by busting the bank. Two versions... please???
Pre Painkiller and then Painkiller eras
DO JOHNNY MARR PLS

Oh yeah
Plsss

Excellent video.
Good job guys!!! seen you in there Glen!!! KewL deal man. I watch your videos all the time as well!!!
It's been 35 years now...
now do Jake E. Lee finally! Bark at the moon was amazing!
The tribute sound/tone is amazing. I think he's the greatest guitar player ever.
I had an MXR Distortion + in the 80s, a late 70s model. It was phenomenal with my Marshall JMP. I had THE Randy Rhoads tone with that and my Kramer Baretta with a Duncan JB. Totally nailed that tone. The MXR also sounded great through a Fender Princeton and some Peaveys I tried out.
