When I get into that ACDC kind of mood, I plug my Gibson SG standard into my old Marshall JTM 60 (ran through a 1960A 4x12) and get my fix. I stay on the clean channel, turn its volume up to 10 and then crank up the master volume. The Marshall break up when on a cranked clean channel is awesome for that Angus toneage. Cheers everyone and Merry Christmas!!
Noeffnwaypal ha fool, nowhere near as good as my line 6 spider with epiphone standard cranked to 12 with a boss metalzone pedal on full!. jokes but nice setup man
I want to see a *Nothing like,* *but sounds right.* Gibson's guitar + pickups to fake out EMGs on a pointy guitar. Fenders to get the sound of a Gibson. Also, the entirely wrong amp for the right job. I think a *LOT* of money is being held back by stereotypes of genre. It's just an interesting idea that would make for a great type of video to help people on the fence.
That is a great idea for a new series actually. Two guys. One has a strat, the other a les paul. Each has a different popular amp. The choose pedals and the thought process for zeroing in on the sound.
07:51 - For Those About To Rock 09:30 - Highway To Hell 11:40 - If You Want Blood 15:20 - You Shook Me All Night Long 16:30 - Thunderstruck 19:19 - Back In Black
maybe it's that Rabea's amp couldn't be cranked to true saturated overdrive, but, the Gretsch sounds way awesome. Not to mention it costs way more, but, I do like Gretsch.
I have heard very close tones... I can get a ok tone with my burns BM red special a treble booster and a fender mustang with a preset. But exactly the same is obviously impossible but if you get a vox ac30 or a ac30vr a BM guitar and a treble booster you can get very close
his signature guitars are no where near what custom guitar luthiers are. If anything the guitars are the easiest bit to get hold of by busting the bank. Three customised blue back AC30's, all customised in different ways with essentially no tone settings. he has them on full blast and controls the tone and clarity via the guitar. The only way to sound like Brian May is to be Brian May and be playing arena's. AC30's melt your face off on lower volume setting let alone peaking.
You can argue that the sound is so simple for Malcom, but DAYUM! That's some cost for such an iconic tone. I keep listening to the Back in Black. Great job.
You guys always kick ass but the power and tone of AC/DC Busting the Bank blew me away. Planning a trip from The States just to shop the Andertons store, say hello and thanks!
That white Falcon Gretsch hollow tone is f..kn' awesome in that Marshall - no pedals. That has gotta be good to play loud with a Phil Rudd drummer behind you. Both guitars together have the subtle different tones - you in AC/DC heaven. Well done on this.
The only thing missing is a little reverb, a tiny bit. The Gretsch White Falcon is one of the most underrated guitars in history. Billy Duff from the Cult makes magic with it. Please do his setup next!
@Andrew Harper Marshall JCM 800, Kramer baretta with a Floyd Rose and single humbucker (or something similar) and the pedals his signatures are based on. Pretty simple stuff, really
Danelectro comes close for six string. You need low output pickups really. For twelve string it wold be harder! Unfortunately the Beatles used so many different guitars that a single one would always be a fail.I'd probably agree with Jacob Griffiths and go for a Casino to cover a lot of the tonalities.
RIP Malcolm... My favorite sounds like, this one. Simple setup and quality gear...absolute tone monster. Says a lot about the setup and the songs that it gets Rabea's head goin'. AC/DC, best bar band of all time.
Incredible tone from both of you guys. This channel (in particular, this series) revitalized my interest in guitar playing. If I lived in the UK, Anderton's would have all of my business for a certainty. Cheers fellas!
Angus favours the late 60's-early 70's SGs with the Witch hat knobs and T-top pickups, Marshall JCM800s, 1959s and Super Lead amplifiers. He uses 4x12 greenback cabinets and (back in the day) a Schaffer wireless system that also duals as a boost. He now use the SoloDallas Schaffer Replica EX Tower which replicates the boost effect. He uses Ernie Ball .09 strings Malcolm used his Gretch Jet Firebird with a single overwound Filter'Tron humbucker in the bridge position (Tv Jones Power'Tron in his sig.) And a White Falcon stuffed with socks on the Back In Black and For Those About To Rock albums. He most commonly used Marshall Super Bass and JTM45s amplifiers and the same cabs as Angus does. He uses Ernie Ball .11 strings Great rigs, about as close as possible back in '17 without hunting for vintage gear on Reverb. Well done!
Patrick hachem There was a sounds like dorje, and if you watch his channel enough you know what he plays anyway. Chapman guitar with bare knuckle war pig bridge and a Seymore Duncan JB mini neck or various PRS guitars through a Jvm 410H or Victory Kraken. Album sound changes, and pedals were a lot of strymon pedals last time I checked.
there was an eric clapton one as well, and then rabea and matt ft the captain later on did eric clapton without bustin the bank so they might do brian may

johnpickk yes he did?? How was his gear back then expensive? His most expensive guitar was probably a jaguar.. He even said the cheaper your gear is the better it sounds.
i agree with both sides. he used a lot a rare gear that was expensive and some expensive boogie pre amps and what not.He also used the twin reverb which is a pretty penny, but not compared to some other artists. His pedals however were basically almost bottom line.
i love malcolm's sound in hells bells, and the guitar just really gives it that feel, shame i've purchased a Schecter C1 FR S instead of a white falcon, nah i'm fine with my choice
Always struggled to learn or play along to acdc as I was using a typical 80s rock tone. With a strat and a flextone 3 amp, compressor on and drive backed off, almost identical sound to bon scott era and found it made it easy to play along
Hey guys! Take a look at the Fire Custom Pedals. I saw them on the video, they are up the shelf. Brazilians pedals. U should make a Demo about them. Greetings from Brasil! I'm a big fan of the channel!

Agree, Bill Duff's sound was enormous with the White Falcon. I understand he played a Roland JC-120 at beginning of Sells Sanctuary then leaps into a Marshall JCM and totally rocks out.
Each time I come to one of those absolutely exquisite videos from the guys at Andertons, I just can't help ending with this damn MIKU stomp pedal test...
It is so obvious that you too had a load of fun with this video. You kow it's impossible to listen or play AC/DC with out moving some part of your body and you both were head banging while playing and enjoying the hell out of it. Cheers !
Rather than just requesting other artists, i just wanna say that this sounded 10/10, incredible

Don't think i'm going to try anymore but, Van Halen??????
sound Like Frank Zappa and Mashavishnu orchestra
Hellyeah!
@Cornelius Larsen Yeah, wanna sea Bea do some finger tapping.

Yo can we can an update on those cigs??
That's just a testament to the simplicity of AC/DC's tone. Simple, but oh so powerful.
I want to see a *Nothing like,* *but sounds right.*
Gibson's guitar + pickups to fake out EMGs on a pointy guitar. Fenders to get the sound of a Gibson.
Also, the entirely wrong amp for the right job.

Thats a brilliant Idea.
Rabea, Matt, make it happen!
the gretsch sounds amazing
07:51 - For Those About To Rock
09:30 - Highway To Hell
11:40 - If You Want Blood
15:20 - You Shook Me All Night Long
16:30 - Thunderstruck
19:19 - Back In Black
maybe it's that Rabea's amp couldn't be cranked to true saturated overdrive, but, the Gretsch sounds way awesome. Not to mention it costs way more, but, I do like Gretsch.
Hey Guys! You should do a sound like Brian May that would be cool!
I think it'd be cool, but, from what I've heard and read, is it's extremely hard, if not impossible to get a Brian May tone.
I have heard very close tones... I can get a ok tone with my burns BM red special a treble booster and a fender mustang with a preset. But exactly the same is obviously impossible but if you get a vox ac30 or a ac30vr a BM guitar and a treble booster you can get very close
I think Andertons stock his signature guitars...
his signature guitars are no where near what custom guitar luthiers are. If anything the guitars are the easiest bit to get hold of by busting the bank. Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins!
Teun Putker yes please
You guys always kick ass but the power and tone of AC/DC Busting the Bank blew me away. Planning a trip from The States just to shop the Andertons store, say hello and thanks!
Michael Aubrey just don't buy any amp from there, the cable they use in the UK is different than the kind we use here
That white Falcon Gretsch hollow tone is f..kn' awesome in that Marshall - no pedals. That has gotta be good to play loud with a Phil Rudd drummer behind you. Both guitars together have the subtle different tones - you in AC/DC heaven. Well done on this.
17:00 That is THE sound right there
Damn. That whole thing they've got going on with the white falcon sounds badass.
Nothing quite like cranking out ac/dc riffs at full volume. Great stuff.
The only thing missing is a little reverb, a tiny bit. The Gretsch White Falcon is one of the most underrated guitars in history. Billy Duff from the Cult makes magic with it. Please do his setup next!
The reverb AC/DC gets is from playing massive stadiums
This one was so easy that I thought it was going to be boring, and somehow it's my favorite yet. The tones compliment eachother beautifully
Eddie Van Halen without using EVH gear. The 5150 pedal as a possible exception. That'd be cool to see.
@Andrew Harper Marshall JCM 800, Kramer baretta with a Floyd Rose and single humbucker (or something similar) and the pedals his signatures are based on. Pretty simple stuff, really
that "Rock Me All Night Long" tho
yeah I was so confused, I opened spotify and searched after this, but thankfully it is not another song by them on the same album
Thank you Rabea and Matt for the "sound like..." series of videos. You guys rock.
Can you do the Beatles
YES! How would somebody get a Rickenbacker sound without the budget for a Rickenbacker?
DNKOTOR maybe buy a epiphone casino which was used on some of their earlier stuff instead?
Danelectro comes close for six string. You need low output pickups really. For twelve string it wold be harder! Unfortunately the Beatles used so many different guitars that a single one would always be a fail.I'd probably agree with Jacob Griffiths and go for a Casino to cover a lot of the tonalities.
HistoryFanatic03. Oh God.
rickenbackers
sounds spot on. their faces at 8:39 lmfao. White Falcon through JTM 45 sounds epic.
RIP Malcolm... My favorite sounds like, this one. Simple setup and quality gear...absolute tone monster. Says a lot about the setup and the songs that it gets Rabea's head goin'. AC/DC, best bar band of all time.
Metallica By Busting The Bank?
InsomniacMatt easy, just get some HET EMG pickups, and a Nice AMP
Sebastian Pølsen
Actually two amps. A dual rectefier or mark 4/5 and something Diesel.
They should do different eras, 1 by busting for puppets era, another by busting for black album, etc
Mesa boogie mark iic+ and esp guitars with emgs
@@matz1011 depends which album, hetfield used Marshall a lot in the earlier albums, diezels too but mainly Marshall.
Bea is getting fit! Good job bro, keep it up! :)
Incredible tone from both of you guys. This channel (in particular, this series) revitalized my interest in guitar playing. If I lived in the UK, Anderton's would have all of my business for a certainty. Cheers fellas!

I effing love AC⚡️DC! So much so, I recently begrudgingly sold my Chapman ML1 Pro Modern to buy a Gibson SG in vintage cherry lefty.
You guys look excited every time you do a By Busting The Bank episode
probably cause they get to play gear that's, like, 5000 bucks a pop
Foster Hudson quids mate not bucks.
Sound like Electric Wizard! I love them so much, and I'd like to see Matt and Bea playing some good Doom Metal!
The Malcom tone I like, but the Angus tone just isn't quite there. Still sounds awesome, but obviously there's a lot more going on with Angus's tone.
He is using too much gain
@@Wesquire no
Needs to be a plexi and there's too much gain.
Yeah, the SG should be a little less gain - should hear each of strings clearer, so to speak. Still, I like this video.
wrong! it's right there and it sounds pretty much like Angus
ACDC is my favorite band of all time, I know these tones from miles away and you nailed them
14:45 I've been relistening to this moment every day for like 2 weeks now. That tone is just pure awesome
Sound like Megadeth without busting the bank
it depends on the line up, which one?
Dave/Marty
Dave/Kiko
or Dave/Chris
William Allison Dave and Marty obviously. I kind of figured it out jackson kvxmg or kvmg pro, Marshall dsl40c, od pedal, noise suppressor
William Allison Dave/Marty classic Megadeth lineup
Dave and Marty of course ;)
I ll show u in 3words :
Give it gain.
Sounding great!!! But "Rock Me All Night Long" ?!!!!!! lol
I want a sounds like rabea... please...
Patrick hachem I second that
They should get someone famous to do it for laughs. Imagine Tony Iommi trying to sound like Rabea.
This would be a dream...

Matt's playing in this video reminds me of when there used to be "rhythm guitarists". And they were great.
Anything Rabea .. I'm all over it, great guitarist!
Please do Richie blackmore
Ponne Ponne I second that
Ponne Ponne yesssssss
do a sound like brian may by busting the bank!!
THEY HAVEN'T EVEN DONE A BRIAN MAY WITHOUT BUSTING THE BANK YET BUT I WOULD LOVE TO SEE BOTH
Rob and Lee have a Sound like Brian May for 1000
there was an eric clapton one as well, and then rabea and matt ft the captain later on did eric clapton without bustin the bank so they might do brian may
Indeed but Sir Brian deserves a slot in this much better format.
Defo Brian May, and Philip Sayce by busting le bank
Love it! How about Gary More, The Cult?
Chris Christian they've done gary moore
That was frikken awesome! Brings back some great memories. My ears are still ringing from "For those about to rock" tour!
Rabea can play all solos he wants. This time Matt was the king and there's not two ways about it. That Gretsch was amazing!
Sound like:
Death
Opeth
Megadeth
Buckethead
Steve vai
Jason Becker
Dream theater
Zak wylde
Marty Friedman
man, Ive been waiting 6 years for Sound Like - Opeth
ZAKK WYLDE, YESSS
If you want the exact amp, get the marshall jmp 2203, the amp used on many, many albums
Please do metallica by busting
Sounds great, guys. Rabea never disappoints... always enjoy Rabea's playing. Good job, gents!!
Rabea and Matt. Love these videos. On the cheap and high end. They are both awesome. Please keep them up
Literally you have done every one of my favorite bands besides my all time favorite band KISS
Daniel Sutterfield yeah i agree they need to do kiss also.
15:40 isnt it shook me all night long?
A Sound Like Status Quo would be a nice tribute to the late Rick Parfitt who passed away earlier today.
Wow... that's sad. 2016 has been a really shitty year hasn't it?
K-Next yes very much, all the time. It sure is. Too many legends taken in 12 months :(
gcsgt2104 You really need help kid.
why did you call him kid? You look about 10
Have you looked at his channel?
My god... that White Falcon sounded fantastic next to the SG! The natural reverb from it really rounded out the guitar sounds as a whole - fantastic!! Plus, EVERY example riff (to my ears) sounded EXACTLY like the records! \m/
That's awesome. I've not seen you so excited about a tone and power before! Imagine with bass and drums backing it up!
Do Richard Benson without busting the bank, even he couldn't do that...
bruh he can’t even not bust the guitar
Been a while since there's been a new sounds like. What's happening? Having said that, here's a few requests you haven't done already.
1. Larry LeLonde - Primus
2. Eddie Van Halen
3. Steve Vai

I know it might not be a popular choice, but I would love to see one on Alex Lifeson
Nice work, lads. You can tell Rabea was having a lot of fun in this one.
Very well done! These videos are never dull. Keep em comin'
Nirvana BY busting the bank... would be interesting :)
He used cheap gear
Dorty no... He didn't.
johnpickk yes he did?? How was his gear back then expensive? His most expensive guitar was probably a jaguar.. He even said the cheaper your gear is the better it sounds.
He used a modded Jaguar. Fender makes, or made, a Cobain tribute Jaguar. Don't know how much it cost.
i agree with both sides. he used a lot a rare gear that was expensive and some expensive boogie pre amps and what not.He also used the twin reverb which is a pretty penny, but not compared to some other artists. His pedals however were basically almost bottom line.
the white falcon is proper hell's bells

It's Johnny Mayer
that's easy, just copy a lot of blues players, and pretend your a blues legend rather than a pop singer lol

nope, its Johnny Marr. As in the guitar player from The Smiths.
Hey guys! Take a look at the Fire Custom Pedals. I saw them on the video, they are up the shelf. Brazilians pedals. U should make a Demo about them. Greetings from Brasil! I'm a big fan of the channel!
