The problem that these often are problematic with US laws that treat handguns and rifles very differently. One of the reasons that these are popular in Europe and other jurisdictions is that the legislation often limits you to number of firearms and calibers. No one will treat an AR-15 with a buffer tube as a "Pistol" this is very much a US thing.
The US definition of a pistol and rifle is very much dependent on external features rather than the caliber and indented use so when you put a handgun in a chassis you are essentially creating a rifle which would prevent it from being used ever again as a handgun, since the lower frame is often the serialized part.

Awesome news that Norlite already has plans to ship/build these for the US market.
I can see a couple of other comments about the MechTech carbine conversion system, which has been around for at least a decade or more. It is similar in that it utilizes the frame and magazine, and has barrel lengths ranging from 10-16".
The good: MechTech covers a wider range of handguns: Glock, Springfield XD/XDm, and a variety of 1911/2011 pistols, and are reportedly working on an upper for the S&W M&P pistols.
They also offer multiple caliber options: 9MM, .40SW and 10MM, .45ACP and .460 Rowland.
The not so good: the operation is likely only a few people, and lead times were long even prior to the beer bug burninating the supply chain. They are also relatively simplistic designs, a direct blowback operating system built around a round tube receiver, reminiscent of the Sten gun. The options for mounting accessories and furniture are very limited as well. No MLOK compatibility, etc.
The subjective: The MechTech stuff works well, but it looks like a rejected design from a Fallout game. The Norlite fixes a huge number of issues, mainly how to effectively mount optics, lights, etc to your ersatz Glockarbine, and the price the gentleman you interviewed ballparked is well within reason compared to the price for an upper from MechTech, especially given the improvements to ergonomics, mounting accessories and aesthetics compared to the MechTech product.
Hopefully they listen to their US partner and are receptive to offering them in multiple calibers; 9MM is fine, but don't diss the .40S&W, 10MM and .45ACP, which there are millions of examples of Glock handguns chambered for in the hands of potential US customers.

The neatest thing about these to me is the accuracy/consistency potential compared to other chassis kits. You've got a rail and barrel that are affixed to each other even when you remove the pistol. Accuracy wasn't mentioned explicitly in the video, but the presence of multiple magnified optics on the examples they have there indicates at least that they want to project confidence in the accuracy of the platform. Lord knows I wouldn't put a magnified optic on my roni.

Ya if it has a buttstock it would be considered a short barrel rifle.
But with a pistol brace it would be considered a pistol (for now).
A 16' inch barrel version would be sweet. Then we could have a real buttstock... and a vertical grip.
And light for load 9mm bullets (less than 90 grains) really scream out of of 16' inch barrels.

If they made it 16 inches, it would count as a rifle in Germany - meaning it could only use 10-round magazines. It would also magically convert all Glock magazines in your safe into "forbidden items" because you now own a rifle with compatible >10 round magazines. It would be a more than nonsensical product for the German market.
