Actually, they use a solid block of metal with a smoothbore barrel, bolted to a giant block of steel bolted to the concrete floor. Some manufacturers do give you values for different barrel lengths, but it's almost always this setup. In the real world, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, how tight or loose your rifling is in your barrel, how clean the barrel is, how much energy it takes to work the action, and the weight/stiffness of the shooter, will all affect your end velocity.
Range dude #1: "Man, Glocks have the worst triggers ever." Range dude #2: "Nah, nothing's worse than a bullpup trigger." Meta Tactical: "Hold my Busch Light."
Ordered two. One for CQC. One for sniping. Performs very well. No jams. No issues with frame. Rail system is great. Sighting with various scopes easy. I wish I had this when I was coping overseas.
Coming from California, something tells me the vertical front handle, and adjustable rear stock would make the weapon illegal the second you put your Glock into the frame.
Actually… the booster works by using the explosion/expansion of gas to actually push the barrel rearward, or rather push the suppressor and barrel in opposite directions. Hence why it’s called a piston. Some people think the spring just allows movement but this is wrong it actually uses combustion to push just like a motor piston. If you don’t believe it, put a booster on a fixed barrel rifle and put the stick against a wall and the suppressor will be pushed forward if you watch it on slow motion video.

Looking at the barrel on that Glock, it reminds me of that '88 Magnum' scene in Johnny Dangerously - Apparently, they also make them for Glock clones. If interested, they have one for the PSA Dagger, and P80s. This might be a fun little conversion toy for my Dagger, I've done too much to my G19 to undo it all for this but purposefully kept my Dagger stock. The fact that this can be swapped back/forth in a matter of minutes is great for a little variety at the range.
Ah shit, I haven't thought of that movie in years. I always loved watching it as a kid. Think I have it on DVD too, guess I should give it a watch. I always thought that red haired chick from Taxi was smoking hot!
These kinds of systems always bugged me a bit because the whole Glock mechanism is designed for the barrel to tilt up when the action cycles, and having a long barrel in there like that seems like it would wear down the locking block and slide a lot faster just from all that mass and leverage moving around. I guess if you're in a pinch in a SHTF scenario and need something you can control a bit better that can also send rounds at a bit higher velocity, it could be the way to go.
I agree with you Charles Van Noland it would also seem to me with a lot of rounds it wear it down would like to see it in 10mm only used for hog hunting or home defense price i would to see it in the $350.00 range,i use my glock 29 in a mck unit i like it without that long barrel situation
@MAC The round hole behind the mag well is a QD point, it's a metal insert into the plastic and works great. I think this weapon is too short for a two point sling so don't feel a need for a second attach point. Mine falls right to where my hand meets the grip when it's slung on a single point sling.
3 reviews I’ve watched on this conversion kit. First one that mentions the butt plate locking mechanism to potentially block the slide release on the gun. Nice catch! Learned something from each review tho. Ty

Yep. I've noticed the failure rate of factory center fire ammo has increased. It's not dramatic but it's noticeable. I had a primer pop out of a fired round of Winchester M855 and get stuck in the cam pin track on my BCG. When I fired the next round, the primer in the cam pin track got squished when the BCG tried to unlock and I had to remove my upper and beat my BCG out of the upper receiver with the cleaning rod so I could remove the primer from the cam pin track.

@Obi-Wan Kenobi Well, I use a Glock 17 with an Endotactical adapter on it and a RMR. Sometimes I run a G17L long barrel on it. The longer barrel only adds velocity. Since the optic is mounted to slide in my case but, the barrel floats inside your accuracy is gonna be about 6moa at best. Also I have used chassis that pistol clamps in like the micro-roni same deal. If you bench rest a gun like that and shoot at a paper plate size target at 50 yards, most would be in about a 3" circle. That would be about 6moa. The problem is you will have flyers that will be at the edge of the plate. It is basically like having an optic that is lose and flopping around. You take an AR9 on the other hand. Regardless of barrel length. I have uppers from 3 inch up. They will put a good group in. Just a ragged hole at 30-50 yards. And out group what the Glock will do at close distance at 100. Not to say these don't have their place. This little chassis he demonstrates would be a great option up close. For sure Minute Of Bad Guy inside of any home. Faster follow up shots. Way easier to shoot than the pistol.
My son is the head designer for Meta Tactical and, of course, of the Apex and he would give me almost daily updates on the tremendous amount of work they put in making this product reliable. They would not go to market until it ran reliably.
I have a thing for short handy rifles. A two to six-pound weaker recoil spring should allow the slide to extract the empty cases with more authority. A carbine kit would be more interesting on pistols with more potential accuracy. Someone mentioned Brettas. I would add CZ-75s, CZ-P07, CZ-P09, and all the double-stack 1911s to the group. As Wyatt Earp noted, accuracy is everything," and Col. Whelen said, "only accurate rifles are interesting," so fixed barrel pistols, even in the lower powered 380 (9mm Browning) and 9×18mm Makarov would make interesting rifle conversions. Many of these pistols have pressed-in barrels, so the change would be permanent or require a gunsmith to make a way to change barrels.
Agree on the price the CZ Scorpion bullpup kit was only 350 brand new. I got my kit 2 years ago for 250 there is no way I’m spending 500 to 600 on this. Especially since this and the CZ conversion are just novelty’s
@@garypulliam3740 What bullpup rifle caliber or pistol caliber cost $500 in today's market? It's a niche item to be sure but if you want to get an extended range 9mm carbine without having to buy another gun this is it.
Well yeah a Glocks barrel cants up in order to drop the chamber that little smidge that allows the slide to unlock. I believe it also helps with the stripping of a fresh cartridge and accessing the feed ramp at a better angle but I would have a hard time explaining it
I like it and I think it would be fine for a home defense weapon if you didn't have a rifle. It looks good and is very compact. I think it would help reliability and ejection if you used plus P ammunition. The extra power should help overcome the extra weight of that long barrel. I would like this in .40 cal or 10mm This thing would make an excellent prop gun for Sci-Fi movies. I would like to see a price closer to $350 on this system though. I could totally retrofit QD mounts on this thing. I mounted one on the side of one of those cheap M4 style collapsible stocks and it wasn't that hard. All I used was a cordless drill and some basic hand tools.
@@aledrpepg Yes you can but this is a lot shorter and more compact. The amazing thing about the bullpup configuration is you can have something that's completely legal but yet has an overall length that looks more like an SBR and it doesn't lose velocity the way you do with a short barrel. This thing isn't perfect but I think it would be a great choice with some plus P ammunition. I will probably never get it but if I had enough money to buy a bunch of things I don't really need I probably would. I do have a 3rd gen Glock 23 to put this thing in so maybe if I catch it on sale sometime. I'm pretty sure the Glock 19 version would work with it if I got a 9 millimeter slide.
i like it. think im gonna buy the kit. i also think we can stick something heat resistant but flexible up front so it wont affect reliability but reduce the wiggle and not scratch up the barrel. aluminum end cap you screw all 4 sides maybe in heat wrap or rubber so you can screw it on the front end
Just by a High Tower Armory bullpup chasis and throw a Hi-Point carbine in there. You will have a better system cheaper. And the fun factor with a suppressor is amazing
@@charaznable896 it is by far may favorite bullpup setup in the fun factor. I own several types of bullpups too. You just cant beat the price and fun for that setup
With the longer barrel and more muzzle velocity, I assume it could be utilized as a Personal Defense Weapon. Some simple iron sights would be nice. A rail could be attracted at the front end sides and a sling swivel attached to either side and 550 type cord through the adjustable stock depression at the rear. I agree with you that it should have some irons designed into the piece. Thanks for the video. Next, someone needs to come up with a multiple magazine carry system for different and similar mag sizes.
Glock 20, 16" barrel running the liberty defense 60 grain bullets get .223 level velocity numbers. Would make a wicked CQB gun with some mags of 180 grain XTPs on standby.
It would have been much more interesting to see a system like this for a Desert Eagle in 50.AE , That Thing Essentially has the gas system of a Rifle and should be way more accurate than a browning breach long barrel.
fix the ejection port and build it big enough to accomodate a suppressor on standard length barrel for folks that have an SBRd glock and this could be fun, also, sling mounts as mentioned.
They should rename this chassis the "Buyer's Remorse." You'll always wish it was a Kris Vector, CZ Scorpion, IWI Tavor, etc. Reminds me of the PS90-ish chassis conversion for the Ruger 10/22.
This just looks like Fun!! That's a good reason to get this!! Would it replace any of my self defense / SHTF guns? No. But most of the guns I have are for fun! Yes I could use my Colt / Ruger Single Action revolvers for anything including self defense. But I have more useful guns for that. For a short bullpup I'll use my Tavor. Thanks for the review!! 🍻 Cheers
great content great review: to be honest I would be interested in a pistol carbine conversion if it were available for other pistol platforms besides just Glock such as Canik, S&W, or even Taurus etc. but it is cool I just do not own any models of a Glock just "yet".
Gawd damnit. I just bought one. Gonna play with the springs to see if I can get it to behave a little more normally. Maybe even get it to work with a small and light suppressor.
That is probably the best chassis I've seen yet. Sling mounts! You got it MAC it's 2023 that should just be a regular thing they add on all firearms and firearms accessories.
There's a QD sling mount on the rear under the stock adjustment lever. Looks like a screw hole but is actually a metal reinforced QD sling hole according to their site.
Ok. I've always wondered why none of these pistol chassis kits has a lengthened barrel... Glad someone else was thinking same thing. :) But I don't have any Glocks haha
The barrel moves about 1/2 inch up and down when the charging handle is racked. Also when it fires. Pretty sure the browning lockup isn’t meant for that much barrel weight. I see issues in this gums future. Imo.
Hey boss....for those of us that 3d print...you can get a soldering iron, put a QD mount on the plastic where you want it...then use the soldering iron to heat it up, and sink it down into the plastic. boom - problem solved. (depending on depth of plastic on the chassis obviously)
as for the ejection slow mo situation...*shrug* hot knife a bit of rubber at an angle in there, glue it in? i dunno, just something to push the spent casings out. thanks for doing this video - super fun!!!
An updated version of the chassis might be well served by having a block you insert during assembly to take up some of that space above the glock slide and encourage any brass to exit promptly.
At 15:32 there appears to be a socket on the bottom behind the magwell. I couldn't see for sure, but looked possibly like a QD. Also, you can use m-lok Qd accessories for mounting a sling possibly. I'd try for accuracy with an LPVO like a 1-4 and I bet it would improve. ;)
I'll probably lean more towards the Norlite chassis that they are in the process of bringing to market in the US. It only uses the frame of the Glock and uses its own upper with a free floated barrel so on paper it should have much better accuracy. Though the price might be a bit higher...
Good presentation and glad I saw it. The flaws:, inaccuracy, inability to use a can, no sling points, potential for casing to fully eject are why I wouldn't buy. If on the other hand a G20 and can could be used I would reconsider.
Matt-try using a Glock lighter recoil spring to cycle the the gun faster for a longer throw if it is a gen 3, the gen 5 can use the 44 recoil spring which is close to 16 pounds not 18-19 like a 9 mm.
Hey Tim have you checked your cups on your striker? I use to work in beer business now I clean rental guns at a local gun range I tell everyone I'm a TH-cam smith. I'm finding out every gun will break. Also thanks with the help with a ACR your old videos help me get that old B.F.I ACR going again.
I want that barrel for my Glock 43....and you know those suppressors that allow you to add as many baffles as you want and allow you to make it as long as you want? Yeah I'll take like...30 of those little baffles...that ought to be a good start.
A question from a guy living in Chile, a country where civilians almost can't touch a rifle, no carry, a lot of paperwork for hunting, etc. I noticed that the barrel tip moves up and return down. The bullet is out before the barrel is muzzle up? Is accurate the gun?
I feel like THAT is the barrel that ammo companies chronograph their ammo with.

I converted my G17 bought around 1986 into a rifle a few years ago . I think that frame is better than AR frames .
I have been tempted to buy a 16" barrel for years. Now I have a good reason
Thank you! Always injoying you're videos ! Hope I get time to talk to you at an event this year Braden and several of you like minded guys !
Underwhelmed for total price
If there were a good price drop on the 9mm tavor this thing wouldn't have a market.
Yeah, there are several PCCs that cost less and take Glock mags
It's ok for what it is. Cheap 9mm bullpup with a preexisting gun.
@@jeremyf9828 No. It's not. Take the $500 and apply it to a real bullpup and keep your Glock to use as it is intended ... as a pistol.
I would like this in .40 cal or 10mm
This thing would make an excellent prop gun for Sci-Fi movies. I would like to see a price closer to $350 on this system though.
I could totally retrofit QD mounts on this thing. I mounted one on the side of one of those cheap M4 style collapsible stocks and it wasn't that hard. All I used was a cordless drill and some basic hand tools.
for $500-600 you could just buy a keltec sub 2k gen 2 in 9mm for home defense with a box of hollows to spare. or even build your own AR-15 lmao
I'm pretty sure the Glock 19 version would work with it if I got a 9 millimeter slide.
i was sold when you showed left handed😃 i like to shoot for fun.
Round velocity would be cool to see!
i like it. think im gonna buy the kit. i also think we can stick something heat resistant but flexible up front so it wont affect reliability but reduce the wiggle and not scratch up the barrel.
aluminum end cap you screw all 4 sides maybe in heat wrap or rubber so you can screw it on the front end
Just by a High Tower Armory bullpup chasis and throw a Hi-Point carbine in there. You will have a better system cheaper. And the fun factor with a suppressor is amazing
Gross, hi point
@@920utdoor also, gross, bullpup.
@@charaznable896 it is by far may favorite bullpup setup in the fun factor. I own several types of bullpups too.
You just cant beat the price and fun for that setup
Great video Tim.
Screw the chassis I just want the comically long barrel
With the longer barrel and more muzzle velocity, I assume it could be utilized as a Personal Defense Weapon. Some simple iron sights would be nice. A rail could be attracted at the front end sides and a sling swivel attached to either side and 550 type cord through the adjustable stock depression at the rear. I agree with you that it should have some irons designed into the piece. Thanks for the video. Next, someone needs to come up with a multiple magazine carry system for different and similar mag sizes.
You already can have multiple mags carried on the gun.
Glock 20, 16" barrel running the liberty defense 60 grain bullets get .223 level velocity numbers. Would make a wicked CQB gun with some mags of 180 grain XTPs on standby.
Interesting. I’ll stick to my sub 2000
Me too
My sub 2000 is awesome
@militaryarmschannel there is a qd sling attachment right behind the mag well. I own this for my glock 20 10mm. Sling attachment works great
It would have been much more interesting to see a system like this for a Desert Eagle in 50.AE , That Thing Essentially has the gas system of a Rifle and should be way more accurate than a browning breach long barrel.
I'm surprised no one has come up with that. That would be cool.
You saved me some typing
It’s all about recovering your investment. How many people have a 50ae vs how many have glocks?
Hopefully, the PSA Daggers will work in these contraptions too
Looks cool. Wish them the best in sales.
If Glock didn't suck they would start making carbines.
fix the ejection port and build it big enough to accomodate a suppressor on standard length barrel for folks that have an SBRd glock and this could be fun, also, sling mounts as mentioned.
Thanks, Tim, for your Always frank and honest reviews ! Range toy ? For sure ! Good one ? Definitely!
Tim, Please keep them coming !!
They should rename this chassis the "Buyer's Remorse." You'll always wish it was a Kris Vector, CZ Scorpion, IWI Tavor, etc. Reminds me of the PS90-ish chassis conversion for the Ruger 10/22.
Makes me wonder if any 3d printed chassis's have been made like this.
maybe... There are a lot of chassis systems available in the 3d groups, not sure I've seen a bullpup version though...
If not there will be!
Needs a digital round counter and underslung flame thrower.
Have you tried a lighter recoil spring in the bullpup yet??
Just was about to ask that.
🍻 Cheers
I'm definitely picking one up for myself. I like OD green myself so that's the route I'm gonna go
The configuration shown at 10:13 is perfect for appendix carriers wanting a Joker model Glock.
great content great review: to be honest I would be interested in a pistol carbine conversion if it were available for other pistol platforms besides just Glock such as Canik, S&W, or even Taurus etc. but it is cool I just do not own any models of a Glock just "yet".
I believe they do make it for smith and wesson.
They're working on rolling out several other brands as well
I like the foregrip idea, you could put that on your other PCCs that take glock mags. Very cool
Wow I actually thought Glock was going to do something different but....they didn't 😂
You almost might have beat us to the punch! Thanks for the support! If you ever get a Glock, see us after.
This seams like a fun range toy and like you said not everything has to be practical
for 500 dollars it really should
@@adrianmizen5070 depends on how you define practical. In most defensive gun uses you just point a gun at the perp and they run off after that.
When the trigger was pulled the first time, I expected a flag that said "BANG" to unroll from the barrel.
Is it Generation sensitive, and does it matter if you have a 17 instead of a 19?
He said that you need to specify what model you have when you get the barrel. 3:50 is where he mentions this.
Yes, he said you need to specify which firearm you have.
On their website it says Gen 3 and newer. But they also list the chassis for PSA and Smith and Wesson as well as P80
@@schneir5 What about Generation?
The barrel moves about 1/2 inch up and down when the charging handle is racked. Also when it fires. Pretty sure the browning lockup isn’t meant for that much barrel weight. I see issues in this gums future. Imo.
Erroneous There's way to much barrel movement for prolonged shooting IMO also.
Got one yesterday for a G21 and noticed the 16" barrel has conventional
rifling, not polygon. For me personally, that's a feature not a bug. YMMV
You look particularly happy during this video which makes me happy
Also- in California, the minimum overall length of a rifle, in folded or minimal condition must be at least 26 inches.
They should make suppressor version for Beretta PX4 since the action of the pistol is Rotating Barrel
Just seeing you shoot that glock with that barrel made my day. Thank you Sir, thank you. The rest of this video is just icing on the cake
I love fun guns. Mine's a pre 580 mini 14 with the A-TM stock.
I want that barrel for my Glock 43....and you know those suppressors that allow you to add as many baffles as you want and allow you to make it as long as you want? Yeah I'll take like...30 of those little baffles...that ought to be a good start.
Thanks for showing lefty. I had questions
Cheers from Brazil!
A question from a guy living in Chile, a country where civilians almost can't touch a rifle, no carry, a lot of paperwork for hunting, etc. I noticed that the barrel tip moves up and return down. The bullet is out before the barrel is muzzle up? Is accurate the gun?
