This magnificent song, with such deep and touching lyrics, was written by Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits in 1982 and is still their great success. The Home Free version is wonderful.
Your thoughts were perfect! There is a special kind of magic with Home Free. One minute they can make you feel uplifted, patriotic, encouraged, have you rolling on the floor laughing and then crying with depth of emotions. I feel so lucky I found them and so grateful they exist. It sounds cliche, but they changed my life. I wish them nothing but success, whatever that looks like to them and I hope they are here creating music for very long time. Thank you for your wonderful heartfelt reaction. I enjoy you ladies very much!!!! Have a wonderful day.
Thank you ladies for a heartfelt reaction to one of my all time Home Free favorites. Your comments about those who support Home Free was also endearing. I am sure they are blessed to have the support they receive to help us appreciate one another more. God bless you!
This is a masterpiece of Home Free. The arrangement is fantastic and the perfect harmonies on point. Tim ' s and Chance ' s phenomenal voices, wow. But Tim's super deep bass brings that special touch that adds to the message of the song. Good reaction, thanks!
Sometimes, the sheer power and beauty of Home Free's music and voices makes me completely speechless as well. I just listen and let my mind experience all the feelings and emotions that come with it. This is one of the arrangements that makes me feel like this, and possibly my favourite HF arrangement out of everything they have released so far.
This arrangement is based on the Club of Five´s one, in 2009, it´s very similar. I don´t know if they talk between the 2 groups or not. The link in TH-cam is th-cam.com/video/Gerr99h0nS8/w-d-xo.html
@@raulnishizaka7909: Yes, I know about this. From what I've heard, Tim contacted them to ask about the arrangement, and they gave the arrangement to HF.
I felt compelled to compliment both of you on your reaction to Home Free's cover of "Brothers in Arms". This is the most respectful and emotional reaction to this song I have seen (and I have seen quite a few). If there was ever a song that deserves to simply be listened to and experienced rather than a lot of talk and analysis I believe this is it. It was clear you knew the original song and understood the serious nature of the lyrics. Words were not needed for us to see the impact it had on both of you and I appreciate that very much. This song gets to me every time I listen. Thanks for sharing.
As usual ladies, your comments are on point and always appreciated. Aside from the solemnity of the subject matter, I believe this was an A Capella masterpiece by HF, both in their performance, but also the brilliance of the video in capturing their ghost like silhouettes in the window frames depicting them as if they too were brothers in arms that had passed on.
I'm very impressed with your reactions and with the two of you. I keep glancing back and forth between the two of you and you are both so hypnotizing, I can't settle on one of you vs. the other. As always, your comments are heartfelt and accurate.
Loved your reaction. It’s hauntingly beautiful. Loved Tim’s low notes. Loved the echoes. Loved the black and white film. Tim and Chance looked ghost like in the windows. So good and I agree….no words….just feelings. Brings tears to my eyes. Good reaction Ladies!
I love Home Free. This song brings back so many useless wars. I play this often and now I cry because of 60 years of memories of men and now women who die so painfully, so far from their homes and people.
Ladies !!! Yes this is a VERY deep song & yes it stirs so many emotions. Their artistry in this is unquestionably MAGNIFICENT. THey made us feel emotions that are difficult, but sometimes we have to feel those things in order to go forward in time. This is Home Free's MASTERPIECE I think. Think of those last words from Tim.....we are fools if we war against our brothers-in-arms...who is our death going to benefit ? We are all human beings & we share this planet with everyone else equally....such deep words !!! This is actually a cover of a 1985 hit by the rock band Dire Straits. Mark Knophler wrote it in response to his fellow UK subjects that fought & died in the Falklands war in 1982 (UK vs Argentina)...a silly war over some very very small islands in the Atlantic Ocean. Sonia & Sofia y'all have a blessed rest of your week. (((virtual hug))) we all need that after this song, and stunning visuals
Such a genius touch to show the silhouette of the fellas in front of the window. I know some see it as a "ghost"y reference but it strikes me as a reflection of the POW/MIA flag. We'll never know just how many of those met the same fate as the soldier of this song. 😥
This is a great cover of "Brothers in Arms" it is a ballad by British rock band Dire Straits, Written by Mark Knopfler the bands lead guitarist, singer and songwriter. The Acapella treatment is different, but still as powerful as the original.
This is a cover of a song by Dire Straits from 1982 at the time of the Falklands War between the UK and Argentina. I suspect that Home Free released it now as Veteran's Day in the US is coming up this Thursday, Nov. 11. An appropriate remembrance delivered in their unique way of taking great songs and somehow making them even better.
I cry everytime I here this song. My grampy wasin the 2nd world war and cripled. My dad was in the korian war and I was in the Canadian air force. we have seen friend die and this song brings all that home again. I have been in 22 diffrent countries. some ok some hell no. My worst encounter was when me and my master corple were doing a perimater walk. We runded a corner and a kid maybe 5 or 6 years old was there pointing a german luger at us trying to pull the trigger. we both dropped and upped our FNs when we realized he cound not pull the trigger.who ever gave him the gun didnt calk it for him and he wasnt stonge enuf to calk and fire the weapon. we found out after that they gave him the gun said shoot the men in green and we will give your family food. I almost shoot a 5-6 year old kid in the face with an FN .It still haunts me today.
Everytime i listen to this song, i am just as stunned as you guys were during the whole time... Loved your review and reaction, thank you for this video... 😊
You ladies are great.! You listen to the song without talking all through it . Some reactors talk all through while it's playing then say I did listen to the words I was just listening to the harmony.
Nice reaction ladies. And Home Free did an amazing job with it, the music video is great as well. However, you should really listen to the original by Dire Straits, as good as HF's cover is, the original is still, well, the original. Mark Knopfler's guitar and soft haunting voice make every soul melt.
This was written by Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits about a dying soldier in the Falklands war between Britain and Argentina, talking to the men round him his Comrades in Arms. Heartbreaking....
This reminds me of the 1914 Christmas Eve ceasefire of World War 1 between the British and the Germans in the field who got together as brothers and celebrated Christmas together..."We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms"
This is the most heartfelt anti war song I've ever heard, mainly because it's from the point of view of the soldiers themselves. They're the ones who risk their lives to protect the rest of us. We are fools to make war on our brothers in arms.

An offering from one leaving his brothers in arms. So much to do as a brother in arms besides War.

It's the Song of a Dying Soldier.
This is a great cover of "Brothers in Arms" it is a ballad by British rock band Dire Straits, Written by Mark Knopfler the bands lead guitarist, singer and songwriter.
The Acapella treatment is different, but still as powerful as the original.
Even though the original was done by Dire Straights, your reactions were from the heart. Beautiful.

One of the great Anti-War songs. "We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms."
This reminds me of the 1914 Christmas Eve ceasefire of World War 1 between the British and the Germans in the field who got together as brothers and celebrated Christmas together..."We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms"
Their haunting melodies belong in a church.

Great reaction. How about reacting to a young family band called Liliac check out their original song called Sail Away
1:29 WOW! Serious background noise issues ladies. Sounds likeold school TV static (Microwave Background Radiation actually)
Sabaton - Solldier of heaven. please check it out!
Go find the real singer that owns this song, Dire Straits.
