Echo and Daredevil having a romance in the MCU is entirely dependent on what they do with Matt Murdock. If they bring back the actor from the Netflix series, it's not happening. If they cast a new actor who is, or can believably pass for, the same age as Maya, than it would be a lot more likely. If they do bring back Charlie Cox, they would likely make him into the new father figure in Maya's life, rather than a love interest like in the comics.

I have a problem with Echo being the once and future Phoenix. It feels like Marvel decided that they would do the 90s strategy of bringing back a character, but now with huge superpowers. As we all know this *has never (and will never) work for a character to become popular again. They should have just let her rejoin the Avengers and put her more in the forefront this time. I could explain it for hours.

Is Heroes Reborn really not well liked? I actually really enjoyed it. Plus all the one shots it had too. Granted I hadn't read Aaron's Avengers run minus Age of Khonshu so maybe I have a different experience going into it

Additionally, please consider having manual captions on your content so it’s more accessible to people to enjoy your videos accurately. Love your videos and insight on all things comics, hope you have a good day whenever you see this. much love 💙🤟
Echo becoming the Phoenix makes about as much sense as Howard the Duck becoming the Hulk. She has a pretty interesting power set: why not explore that instead of making her another bootleg Jean Grey?
I wouldn't call her a bootleg Jean since she isn't a telepath or a motherly figure like Jean. Since the whole point of Jean's original Phoenix story was about a kind innocent person being corrupted and twisted by great power and choosing to die as herself than live as who she was becoming. The Phoenix hasn't been a Jean Grey only thing in years. That doesn't even include the retcons of there being multiple hosts before her.
Honestly, I think it’s a combination of Aaron wanting a Phoenix host on his team and the fact that comics tend to “re-introduce” characters when they get a spotlight in the MCU. Aaron couldn’t use any mutants because of the Krakoa status quo so Echo was probably the best fit. UNFORTUNATELY outside of this solo run she has going on, she hasn’t done anything with the power and it kinda seems like she might lose it by the end of the solo. Which honestly, I would prefer
And now I just wanna see her debut in Daredevil just to know how those two manage to communicate wich other without revealing their secret identities cuz in real life those 2 disabilities (deafness and blindness) make it real difficult for both parties to talk to each other because blind people can't (unless they have a radar sense or something) see sign language. Some deaf people can read lips to various extends so they can technically "ear" a blind person talking but they can't respond in a way the blind person can understand. Funny think, was watching Hawkeye with my blind bff (I provided the voice for Maya cuz obviously blind people can't read sub) and afterward I caught myself signing some of the things I was saying (got low-key photographic reflexes and an insane intuitive understanding of language especially language I can see like written language or sign language) and realized just how silly it was cuz OBVIOUSLY she could'nt tell I was signing while talking so to me it makes Echo origin in Daredevil quite intriguing.
Ngl I’m blind and her relationship with Daredevil makes me really uncomfortable. I get that deaf people and blind people seem complementary, but there’s a world of difference there. Daredevil is also barely blind, so it feels like they have nothing in common aside from being seen as disabled in Matt’s case. Kind of has the same energy as your friend trying to set you up with somebody just because you’re the same race
Yet that's how it works especially in Marvel. Look at all the Spider's have some sort of attachment to Peter Parker. The mutants gather just because they're mutants. Even the Martial Artists and Mercs kinda roll together. Echo and DD are attached more so because of Kingpin
@@ExeErdna well, people with similar interests and skills would realistically gather together. Martial artists need to train and sharpshooters can go to the range together
Disney did the character so dirty Echo is such an interesting character with so much potential and the series wasted it. She would've been a great addition to the defenders and they could've set her up in Daredevil.
she needs to be forgotten (jp) with beating some of the avengers she had no buissness beating. I hate how they create new characters and because they want them to stick they make them beat popular characters that are well established and clearly more powerful. Takin a butt whooping can be just as memorable as giving one. Honestly she's a great character and being she is part of "Daredevil's Universe" gives her an advantage. Even though he is not one of the most popular characters his universe is one of the most impressive do to him and a number of very impressive supporting characters who themselves could be used to tell very good stories. The more i read on him the more impressed and convinced that he is one of the best comic characters ever!!! If they can find a nitch for her within and outside of the Daredevils universe she could also be one of the better comic characters in Marvel Comics as that section of marvels universe has a strong enough foundation to spring board her into stardom.

I legit ignore anything phoenix related since it is nomally bad it was bad when it was Jean. Now they pass it to anybody even non psychics and some how she's Thor's mother. It's like whomever has this hardon for this psychic concept needs to stop because it's not working.
@@ExeErdna Technically, you don't have to be a psychic to be a host for the Phoenix Force.
@@dallasgrey4247 I know yet that whole aspect made it kinda unique. It's now just a plot McGuffin
@@ExeErdna Its not a just plot McGuffin. Its a super huge "We can resurrect all the mutants now" level McGuffin.
Isn't the Phoenix force also like
Incredibly evil and turned Jean Grey genocidal?
I click on all your stuff i love your content dude
a shame they never did anything interesting with her even though she had the phoenix force I hope the live action shows do something good with her
Is Heroes Reborn really not well liked? I actually really enjoyed it. Plus all the one shots it had too. Granted I hadn't read Aaron's Avengers run minus Age of Khonshu so maybe I have a different experience going into it
Ah yes, a video about a deaf Avenger, who is now in a TV series starring a deaf Avenger...sponsored by Amazon Music.
Who is canonically a musical prodigy that is literally named ECHO.
Hey! Thanks for being an actual bro and warning that the thing renews automatically. Cause fuck companies that just kinda quietly wait for you to forget.
Watch unless popular or just watch every of your videos
^fingers crossed* so far the mcu is doing a great job with Echo's character and Alaqua Cox is amazing!!
Seems like a lot of these characters go for a period of Marvel not knowing what to do with them before being saved by the MCU lol
#gwenpoolformcu
Echo Disney+ show has been anounced, FYI.
Hey, I didnt click on this video because of the Hawkeye TV series, I clicked on this video because of Echo's card in Marvel Snap!
Echo is literally the new phoinex why isn't she important
jokes on you i'd watch anything you make lol
How do mat and maya talk to each other?
How would a blind person communicate with a deaf person? That's an odd thing to think about, but now i cant stop.
I have no idea! maybe Echo reads Daredevil's lips?
Echo can read lips and talk
I got a bit confused with the game changer clip lol
I didn’t watch this easy because I wanted to finish the season😅
I want to see a fight between her and taskmaster
I wanted to run some things by you from this video. You used the term “hearing impaired” and many deaf and hard of hearing people don’t use that phrase and see it as hurtful and inaccurate, similar to how blind and people with low vision don’t like being referred as “visually impaired”.
I don't see what the big deal is, its the Phoenix force 5hsts what it does
Ohhhhh. Yeeesssss. Howard the Hulk.
@@Peecamarke She's a street level character; giving her cosmic powers makes no sense.
Face it guys. The MCU is aiming for a Heroes Reborn Saga if these new heroes dont pan out lol
I learned about her because of Ultimate Alliance psp
I really liked her comivs
Talk about marvel Godzilla
I hate how when Black widow and Hawkeye finally get solo outings, there not as good as the other avengers.
Better than the first two Thor movies, so there's that
I am BEGGING someone to just explain what's up with that weird handprint on one side of her face!
I like it. Without it she looks so bland.
@@LuffyBlack I agree, it looks cool as hell. I just wanna know how it got there.
Man you removed the sex Bob-omb logo from the background. I know it’s been a while but I’m just giving up now. Rip to a king
I absolutely did not.
@@ComicDrake oops. I can’t find it anymore, sorry I guess. I am not great at finding things.
Wait how do daredevil and echo communicate
How do they communicate
Comic drakingnton
Comment cause it apperently helps
But..... there's a spin off series coming.... for...her.....
...... ....... ....
This society confuses the fuck out of me........
Disney did the character so dirty Echo is such an interesting character with so much potential and the series wasted it. She would've been a great addition to the defenders and they could've set her up in Daredevil.
It’s just a minor portion of the hate is just post-Covid woke ranters
Has he done a video on Yelena Belova?
I just cant stand how bad her origin was in the show. The way she side steps and pushes some kid twice her size over with ease pissed me off .
she needs to be forgotten (jp) with beating some of the avengers she had no buissness beating.
Who did she beat that she shouldn’t be able to beat?
How do Matt and Maya communicate with each other?
Maya can reads people's lips very well
@@yeat.leaks0 but what about Matt?
@@schoolprojects1835 he can hear what she's saying, she can talk in the comics
@@yeat.leaks0 ok thanks for clarification it’s just most deaf people i know don’t talk at all
