    I am a BMW first timer. Have always turn to TH-cam to get ideas on what I need to do to maintain pay my vehicles. This video has truly given me an even more level of ease when it comes to working on the BMW. Thanks for the outstanding work you doing and the simplicity of your videos

    Taken over responsibility of a 2008 BMW 328i and learning about maintaining and replacing broken and missing parts. This video was very helpful, so I can do this myself.

      Is the oil drain at the bottom of your pan rather than on the side like this right??

  • @The_Butcher-k31
    @The_Butcher-k31 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The bottom is usually covered with a plastic skid plate, but there is a access point, that you can open to get to the drain plug. So no need to take the skid plate off
    Edit: the dipstick is digital, you have to check it on the dash

  • @karlkidd1
    @karlkidd1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Also, while the drain plug is out, you can sacrifice a little fresh oil and pour some the filter housing, and let that kinda rinse out any impurities.
    But that's only if you're a baller like me hahaha

    BMW dealership is having a deal you give them $225 one-time fee and is good for 3 years oil change I went for that cuz in Connecticut an oil change for myself and 60 to $80 but at a mechanic anywhere from 112 to $200 so I went to the dealership instead now I don't have to go underneath my car for the next 3 years cuz it's free with a one-time payment

    Easy and fun? Possibly if you have the special tool to remove the oil filter, a car lift, and special jack pads for the lift. Other then that....

      Naw bro all you need is a jack and jack stands. You don’t really need that special tool as long as you get it pretty tight with your hands it should be good

      Universal Oil Filter channel-locks will work fine. The Jacking Blocks that fit like a Lego brick into the jacking points cost a couple of bucks from Temu... Delivery within the week.

      Hey now, sometimes you drive what you can get for cheap. And these are cheap for a reason. The maintenance costs are sky high. BUT if you do your own maintenance it really isn't bad. Thanks for watching Robert!

    • @bilalahmed2123
      @bilalahmed2123 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maintenance costs are quite reasonable, if you take care of the car !
      I have one myself with oil changes every 5000km with German filter and oil.

    • @Na-qj7nm
      @Na-qj7nm ปีที่แล้ว +2

      BMW resell value is really low due to their reputation but the n52 is one it’s most reliable engines and maintanence costs are practically the same as any other car if you do everything on your own. Don’t forget transmission fluid tho, they should be done more frequently on beamers like every 20-30k or 2 years.

    • @Na-qj7nm
      @Na-qj7nm ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bilalahmed2123 especially if you don’t actually go to bmw for service and repairs, they will up charge you 100 for labor alone on an oil change and also triple any part costs. If you research their part manufacturers you can get the oe factory part ridiculouslessly cheaper than what they’d charge.

    • @bilalahmed2123
      @bilalahmed2123 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Na-qj7nm Exactly. The N52, N55, B48, and B58/B58 are fantastic engines.

    No dealership is charging $300 for an oil change on a 2007-2011 BMW lol. I work at a BMW dealership. Oil changes for ordinary customers are about $100-$120. Good video tho
