    The N52 engine is extremely reliable. I have one at about 265K miles. It consumes 1qt of oil per 8K miles. I do my oil change every 10K miles with 0W-40 Mobil 1 since 100K miles ago. When I removed the valve cover recently to replace the gasket, I saw the engine had no oil sludge and very little wear.

    Use a solid rubber pad or even a small 2x4 between the jack and the front lift point. Your jack stands should be under the factory pads.

    Last time I changed my oil I used the exact same you used here. There was a noticeable difference in how smooth my car ran. Think this Liqui-Moly 5W-30 is the best for our e90s. Have you heard of Fumoto? I highly highly recommend installing one in each of your cars. Makes oil changes a breeze and a joy. For my 2011 328i Sedan I used the Fumoto F109N with the Fumoto ADP-109SX adapter/extension. By the way, I also bought some Race Ramps for even easier oil changes. If you're interested, I can recommend the ones I got for lowered cars.

    Bro you have one of the cleanest 328i love the build!!!! Quick question my 328i is making a whining noise everytime I stop or slow down and it idles rough do you have any clue of what it could be?

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is the whining noise coming from the engine? As for the rough idle, that could be a so many things lol. Have you gotten any ‘service engine soon’ light? The only way to really narrow down the cause is to check codes if your ‘check engine’ or ‘service engine soon’ light comes. If they don’t then youd really just have to wait till they do come on. That’s the annoying thing about these cars.

    • @brianplum1825
      @brianplum1825 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There're many possible causes for these symptoms. The noise and rough idle might even be two separate issues. The whining noise may be there all the time and you don't hear it when the car is driven at high speed. Rough idle is probably related to something wrong in the combustion process (air/fuel mixture or ignition timing). Start with MAF sensor, spark plugs, oxygen sensor, vacuum leak, etc. A scan tool will help a lot. I use a Bluetooth OBD2 adapter connected to my smartphone app to monitor live data during driving. If you really want in-depth diagnostic info, search BMW Internet forums to see how folks use the BMW INPA or Rheingold software to scan the car.

      Check your transmission fluid levels. Sounds crazy, I know, but check that. Also check spark plugs and coil packs. Check mass airflow sensor. Check hoses and engine oil levels. Coolant and those hoses.
      Whining? Check serp belt and pulleys. Check alternator. That's all I can think of right now.
      Oh and power steering fluid/pump/reservoir
      Honestly, I feel like an easy an cheap way to find out anything is to take it to the dealer for one of those $98 oil changes...I say that because they give your car a checkup and tell you what they found.
      When I had my e46...and now with my e90. The e46 wasn't worth fixing(only paid $300 for it and definitely got what I paid for😂) but my e90 needed a serp belt, new tensioner radiator, oil filter housing gasket and front struts. BMW quoted me $10k for everything... I did the radiator, tensioner and belt myself for under $200 that's with the oil filter housing gasket in the order as well. Next is the struts and transmission pan.
