"Don't Be Long" aka "Etude for Miku." Kanami wrote this for Miku as a practice song to teach her new guitar techniques needed to play Different. Kanami and Miku are unbelievable. One of my favorite things about this band is Miku's determination to learn guitar from scratch, and Kanami's willingness to teach her - even writing entire songs to assist Miku's progression. I've never heard of anything like this.
I think Mika is doing a very good job. She is a hard worker who dropped out of college and became a maid, so I will continue to support her.

No, they have not played it in Europe in 2019. US tour was a bit later, and it was clearly the new song Kanami composed.
I watched that Ron Ayala video (and a few others from US Maidiacs) probably a hundred times...

Everyone already knows what a phenomenal talent Kanami is but in my opinion Miku just drives this song. And she is having so much fun! There is a comment on the live version that said it best. "Kanami shreds and Miku pulverizes."

You mentioned about Akane's stance when drumming, that she hardly moves. That is purposeful, she used to be VERY animated when drumming, till she fucked up her back. I think it was 2017-ish... Since then she has used a proper stance when drumming, and hasn't had any more problems.

Based on numerous Japanese drummer interviews I've read, they usually discipline themselves in correct posture and wrist control. There are wrist technics that requires little movement but still sound powerful. It's all about posture and wrist control. This is to mitigate the stress during long set sessions, especially 2 hour ones.

I'm a big fan of Band-Maid but Rick Beato is correct about some of their music, it can get compressed and needs room to breathe otherwise very cool things they're doing can get lost in the mix. Jimmy Page is a fan of Akane because she reminds him of the way Bonham played with finesse and power
I love how the guitar screams in this tune, that solo has maid me cry before. Of course Akane had to do a gorilla thing too, her playing is so amusing.

Also, this song needs to be listened to professionally mixed. My personal opinion is that all fan cams have pretty poor audio compared to album/official live (sorry Vlad, your videos are amazing for fans who haven't gotten to see them live, but not for reactions IMO.) That is why I suggested Spotify for your reaction.
It's amazing how the best reactors pick up on a lot of the same stuff. The intro here is amazing... but the drum fill by Akane towards the end of the song is why I really wanted you to react to this song. Your face when you hear it the first time is just *chef's kiss*
Then, as for the performance in Dallas, could see Kanami's play pretty close and the sound quality was good xD

I prefer their version in Dallas. If you can find that, the sound is better and it was recorded on Kanami's side of the stage. You can hear Kanami MUCH better in that video.

That was nuts, yet too awesome! I get very nervous when Miku starts bouncing around next to Kanami like that, lol!
Now this is a very personal opinion on why A-chan is able to make her hits sound that powerful without much movement. I am not a drummer, but as far as I have seen, if you would watch the Gion-cho video, her wrist movement seems quite different and unique to me. It almost seems like, if that isn't really the case, that instead of inverting her drumsticks and wrists inward as in for jazz drumming, or straight as in for rock and metal, she actually has her wrist placement at a side-outward angle, and she hits her kit as if she is flinging the sticks at them, instead of simply hitting the membrane. Ofc her wrists are legit water fluid, but that style of hitting seemed unique to me, hence the long comment. I would love for @Wave Potter and the drummer Maidiacs to enlighten me if I am wrong!!
