I didn't see anyone else in the comments mention it, I may have missed it but I haven't seen it as of yet. But this song, Don't Be Long, is a training song for Miku. Kanami wrote it to teach Miku how to use the 7th Diminished chord for the song Different.
Kanami has said that after this, she no longer worries about Miku playing anything that she writes, as Miku has stepped up and learned every note, chord and technique Kanami has taught her and not just learned them, but performs them with precision and energy.
Yet another reason to love these Ladies. They give so much of themselves to their music, to give back to us, their fans.
My favourite Band-Maid instrumental, originally written by Kanami to teach Miku how to play the types of chords required for "Different".

I’d love to hang out with Misa. She’s cool, funny, and my favorite bass player. When I saw them in person I was stunned how gorgeous she is as well. Wow 🤩
Until their last US tour, Miku never had a break, she just forged her way through the entire show. The US tour saw her have a break where Saiki and Kanami did a little " Japanese Language Lesson Time" where the two would pick our Japanese words and teach everyone how to pronounce it and what the meaning is.....pretty fun stuff and gave Miku a little breather.
Miku can outdrink all of them BURP ! PO!

This song is still my favorite.
Of course, all of BAND-MAID's instrumentals are good.
The set list being Kanami's I would say as it has a drawing of her one of her favourite childhood characters on it. "Coji-Coji"...Pretty sure I have brought a small "Coji-CojI" stuffed toy back from Japan.
Band-Maid will be back in the USA next week for three shows in NY & LA!!
MISA did a solo interview with Chris Peppler a while ago. She must have been comfortable with Chris, and had long, detailed answers. They also cracked open a couple of beers and had some snacks that MISA brought. The interview is very informative. Unfortunately, the station that did the interview does not seem to want open distribution of the interview.
Kanami, "Miku, if you can play this song, you'll be set for anything I write from now on." Miku, "Nailed It!" Maybe a conversation.
I wonder if that is why they named the new instrumental From Now On? 🤔

Misa is the shy one. Miku is usually the PR person and most used to talking about the band. Either way, it'd work for you @BG 😆
Band-Maid is playing at the Hollywood Palladium on 10 Feb. The concert was sold out before Band-Maid was announced as the opening act last night.
My 2d favorite (of the 4) instrumental. Love the lead work. Yeah the B sides have gems. Maids don't believe in filler

Glad you reacted to this song. Because I really feel it's overlooked or forgotten about. A hidden gem it definitely is.
All 4 of Band-Maid's instrumentals are named in the same theme. It has something to do with something happening or the progression of time.
onset, Don't Be Long, Without Holding Back, From Now On.
You can see how Kanami took some of the same structures of this song and amped it way up for From Now On. Both songs feel about the same, and they both have a melodic Misa feature in the bridge.
They played it at all five shows in their September 2019 U.S. tour (2 in NYC, 1 in Dallas, 2 in LA) and there are some great fan-cams that are a lot of fun.
Kobato didn't take breaks hardly at all. During the October 2023 U.S. tour she sometimes took a little break during the 3rd MC time while Saiki and Kanami introduced a Japanese word to the masters and princesses. At their Tokyo Garden Theater show on January 9th she took about ten minutes at the beginning of the 2nd MC. Saiki entertained the crowd for awhile and then Miku came back out. Kanami: "Oh, Po-po-san came here!" Saiki: "Did she become 'Po-po-san?'"

Misa won't be the best fit for an interview since she tends to not say much and seems quite shy.
I can almost guarantee you that if you ask for a couple of members you will get Miku and Saiki. Miku will speak for most of the interview and has basically been the spokesperson for the band since the beginning. All the advertisements for their last couple of albums/EP's/Singles have been by Miku and Saiki (for different streaming websites each with their own special extra) and they also had their own radioshow for a while in Japan (Akane was a guest on that one 2 or 3 times).
Also, Miku and Saiki do drink as well and not a little from what I have read and heard from them on Band-Maid Prime (if I remember correctly). Kanami and Akane tend to not hold their alcohol as well, but you should be fine with the other 3. I believe they say Miku drinks the others under the table actually.
Band-Maid doesn't have "B" sides, just multiple "A" sides!
