Thank you for this video! I'm Irish and finished my Masters about a year ago but find the cost of living (especially rent!!!) over here farrrrr too high. Have been looking at Manchester as a potential city to move to and you've really shed light on all the factors that are important to consider.
Hi, Just seeing your video. You’ve done a good job, but I will like to correct a point you made because I live in Manchester having moved from London some years ago and also add some extra facts. In terms of salaries, there was a pay gap some few years ago but as at the last 5 to 6 years the pay gap had disappeared. Most jobs in Manchester literally pay the same amount you’ll get in London and some even pay more. I’ve seen this so many times as a tech professional. It’s due to influx or migration of a lot of companies from London and other cities into Manchester because of overhead costs. Some moved their head office, and some their headquarters. Manchester has also got good tram and train transport system. The transport system makes it easy to link any town or city in the north, that’s why it’s sometimes called the central capital of the north. Thanks
@Anthony Dawodu, i think u are the right person to forward this question to, please am a Nederland citizen, am planning on moving to Machester to study medicine, my mum is a nurse, so she wil be working and i will be studying, i dont have school yet, she dont have job yet, we have no single info about anything, but we have this plan, can u help ?please
@@EbereChikezie Thanks for this video. Does the tax apply to a dependant working all these blue/pink collar jobs? I'm sure a student studying and working won't pay tax.

Hi, can you plz tell me that if I do Bio medical engineering in Manchester England and my parents pay my first year fee and then after going to England would am I able to pay my rest of educational fee by doing some kind of odd job? Please let me know
Oh some one who knows the correct thing about Manchester and Salford for a Change, as you say they are two independent Cities but a lot of Mancunians think Salford is a part of Manchester which it is not, the y are only connected by both being a part of the Greater Manchester Metropolitan County.
@@paulwild3676 No it is not, the City of Manchester and Greater Manchester are two different things, the official population size of the CITY OF MANCHESTER is around 560,000 and that is verified by the Government, that is why the CITY OF MANCHESTER is only the 8th largest City in the UK against the City of Birmingham's 1.5 million Citizens making Birmingham the second largest City in the UK.
In time I can see the whole of Greater Manchester will just be referred to as, "Manchester ". Westminster and London are two separate cities but Greater London is just known as London.

Please, do you have any idea if students or their dependants pay tax.
I'm planning to live in Manchester with my family as I study.
If one works in the UK full time, they pay tax.
Unless you earn less than 12,570 a year
To the best of my knowledge

You can study anything in Manchester. It has won 25 Nobel prizes.

Manchester’s population is about 500k
Manchester’s commuter belt is nearer 4 million. The city of Manchester population is misleading.
