⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 The instrumental with the solos is 'Mischief of the Metal Gods'. It often precedes Su-metal's solo song 'Rondo of Nightmare'. This was the Black Night at Budokan with Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars and Hideki Aoyama on drums. And of course BOH on bass. Not that many people play a six stringed bass to begin with, let alone tap one like that. Was pretty sure you would like that one. It's was already epic, and THEN Su rises up from beneath the stage. Not only is she brave enough to sing and dance on a small elevated platform in the dark, but she also has the confidence to follow those blistering Kami Band solos. That's true fearlessness. : ) Lyrically this is probably their darkest song. It's about being trapped in a nightmare with no escape. Su was sixteen when she did that performance. She's only gotten better in the last seven years. She performed three solo songs that night. Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) did two songs without Su. And of course they all did a bunch of songs together. That 2014 Budokan Black Night concert is still one of my all time favorites from any artist.
Great reaction, and I am glad you picked the Budokan version of the song with the "Mischiefs of Gods" intro that showcases what excellent and outstanding musicians the members of the Kami band are. They are amongst the most talented and best session musicians you can find in Japan =). At this show, it was Leda Cygnus (first guitar solo), Takayoshi Ohmura (second guitar solo), BOH on the bass, and Aoyama Hideki on the drums. Only they can summon queen Su-Metal after their opening :D. Remember Su was just 16 and already an outstanding vocalist back then. The song is about her being trapped in a nightmare being chased by a monster she can't see, begging it to show itself after realizing that she can't escape. It is probably the darkest song Babymetal has in its repertoire and one of 4 solo songs Su has performed. If you are a fan of Dream Theatre, you should check out Babymetal's "Tales of The Destinies", which homage to Dream Theatre. Unfortunately, it was only performed once at the Tokyo Dome show (red night) in 2016. BOH always had something written on his head, either the name of the venue, things like "Happy birthday" (at the Legend 1997 show), etc. Unfortunately, now they always have to wear masks, so you can't see much of that anymore :(.
My man, I know exactly what it's like to have a baby, and how it makes you forget what rest and sleep really are, but I promise it gets better. So the bass player, BOH, would often decorate his head with the name of the venue they were playing at. There are many pics of his different "head-arts" from over the years. There are a couple other times the Kami band performed instrumental intros. Catch me if You Can and YAVA have them, but not at every performance. Boh also has a cool little bass part he plays in the midlle of the song Amore as well. Some of the current and former members of the Kami Band also play together in other projects. BOH and their late guitar player Mikio Fujioka, along with a former Kami Band drummer named Yuya from the 2014 era played together in a jazz fusion type group called the Kari Band (great stuff), and another guitarist, Takayoshi Ohmura who has been in the Kami Band almost from the beginning (pink glitter guitar) has had his own band for a long time. You can find stuff from both bands on YT. This song is one of 4 songs Su-metal performed. The others are No Rain No Rainbow, Akatsuki, and Amore. The other two, Moa and Yui also have 4 songs they perform together as Black Babymetal, Sis Anger, 4 no Uta, Onedari Daisakusen, and GJ.
Good reaction, thanks! The instrumental intro song is called "Mischiefs of the Metal Gods" so every Kami Band member has their turn to shine. Just to summon the Queen who finally emerges from the depths ... well, at least from the bottom of the stage :) "Rondo of Nightmare" is probably their darkest song lyrically. It's about Su being trapped into an endless nightmare, without any chance to escape, and she's chased by a dark entity as she tries to run away and hide from. Finally she gives up and ask the entity to show its real nature. This was just the second time they performed it live (the first one was just the previous night at the same venue) and Su-metal, being 16 at the time, was standing by herself on a relatively small and high platform, without any safety and probably not being able so see a thing due the spotlight. This is metal! Wonder why she's called the Queen? Until next time!
Wow, that was a great reaction! I newer saw you stop walking until now. And yes, that bass solo is incredible. There are few more songs that have Kami band intros. And there is a Western Kami Band with completely different members (when BM was touring in America). You can see them perform before the song Kagerou. So, we’ll hopefully see you walking deeper and deeper into the fox hole.
None of us thought we would be down for BabyMeal but those girls and the band have some real talent and power. That was one of her best top long notes, so epic.
The singer is Suzuka Nakamoto, aka Su-metal. Just got home from work and was going to get on the exercise bike, but instead grabbed a beer. Maybe tomorrow…
Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。Kamis' (=Gods') super solos were excellent enough as a main event in the show, but once our Su-Metal, 16-year-old Queen (as of 2014), emerged from the underground, she colored everything differently with her piercing voice then turned Kami Band's plays into a ritual to summon her. How many times we should go through waves in this song? Billows, ripples and rollers. Kamis are all remarkable session musicians and they also paly in their own bands or other activities. The 3 girls once said like "We feel we have been protected all the time by Kami band" and Kamis said "The girls took us to stages in the world, outside of Japan. We have nothing but gratitude towards them". This ideal relation has remained and will remain intact.

Nice reaction. Love this song and this performance. That's Su-metal with nerves of steel singing 6' up with lights in her face and no safety equipment.
Excellent reaction! I believe Rondo refers to both the musical term in which "a principal theme sometimes called the 'refrain' alternates with one or more contrasting themes, generally called 'episodes', 'digressions', or 'couplets'. The number of themes can vary from piece to piece, and the recurring element is sometimes embellished and/or shortened in order to provide for variation", as well as to the recurring nightmare described in the lyrics. 16 year old Su-metal had nerves of steel to perform so beautifully while elevated 10 feet on a small platform above a rotating stage. Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult
Here's something guitar driven you haven't seen yet. The band is Asterism, and the song is 'Rising Moon'. Brothers MIO and MIYU are the drummer and bassist. The lead guitarist is HAL-CA. She was 15 when this video was released: th-cam.com/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/w-d-xo.html
Kami Band is truly amazing, truly. But once the Queen starts singing, she takes it all with her. In the presence of the Queen, even the great Kami Band will gladly become her servants with their pleasure. Since this song is in a variable time signature, so is it classified as progressive? It is really amazing to sing this difficult beat in that high position. More and more, even I can say about this song, lol. The lyrics are great too. Please check it out. Thank you from Japan.
I have trouble sleeping at night 🥱thats what i get for being a night worker 😉🤣 after the tapping comment i was laughing to myself wait untill here sees /hears Boh how do you follow that a 16 year old Su comes out after that intro and follows it with ease thats why she is our Queen/Goddess 🔥🤘🦊🤘❤🔥 "Prog Metal " Just mention "Tales of The Destinies " by BabyMetal ❤ 🤘🦊🤘
Everything important already said, even about the rising platform without any safety gear. But there are two more aspects about that, the mind plays with your mind when you're elevated above the ground AND Yui fell of the stage (not this elevated one) the night before so I can imagine that Su had that in her mind too, performing fearlessly or at least it seems so. Kitsune up /yon-metal
The Kami's are awesome in this "Mischiefs of the Metal Gods" intro, but you don't get that on CD/album/Spotify - you have to buy the concert DVDs. The Kami Band doesn't have a fixed membership but the members in this performance are Leda Cygnus, Takayoshi Ohmura, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. The Kamis were integrated into BM's performances during 2013 to transition BM from an idol group singing to backing tracks into a legitimate live metal band/show. RON is one of Su's solos and we'll just ignore the health and safety violation of being on a platform without a railing or harness...seriously the staging at Budokan is one of the few times I feel the need to criticize the professionalism of the BM organization. RON is a very dark song where Su is chased by something she cannot escape. The repetitive nature of a "rondo" makes this even more frightening and that's explicitly said in the lyrics. I think that the changing time signatures are there to make us feel uncomfortable and keep us off balance. The final chorus is as unsettling as the time signatures and offers no happy resolution: It flickers slowly appearing and disappearing in my mind. A nightmare rondo is being repeated. The awakening light is gone far away out of my sight. I can do nothing but fall into the darkness. Some reviewers mention that the song ends very abruptly and that it's hard to settle into...the lyrics imply that there's no hope of waking, but that's often what you feel when you are in a nightmare and then you wake as suddenly as the song ends. You still have BM's greatest WTF achievement (IMO) to come and that's "Tales of the Destinies".
I believe the Budokan stage is where Yui fell off the catwalk. In another performance, Moa got hurt during IDZ, but as a true professional, she fought through the pain, though it was obvious she was in distress. When they performed the "10 year" concerts, there were guard rails. And according to Koba-metal message at the 2021-10-10 announcement said Budokan is where a new legend will be born.
@@GenTzu Yes, Yui fell off the stage during Headbanger at Red Night and Moa face planted during the run off to IDZ and was seriously in pain during the song. That’s why there were extra rails at the second show (Black Night).
Great reactions man. Thanks for doing Babymetal. Prog Metal = 'Tales of the Destinies' but you MUST follow it with 'The One' as they are a box set. I think it will stop the treadmill in its tracks.
If you want to hear some truly amazing guitar work, check out Asterism. "Dawn" would be a great track to start with. Haruka Noma is the only guitar player I can think of right now that actually blow the Kamis out of the water.
ayy man loved the vid dawgg but mannnn hearing this song brought me back to guitar and i did a cover man barely haha but im workin on thisss 😏 theyre juss hella talented mann like fuckkk i gotta practice so hard
Dancing in the Dark 2 meters above a rotating stage, a 16yr old Suzuka sings of an Unending Nightmare of being chased by a Faceless Terror and begging a Boon that it show her its Face just once before she dies. That's Metal. Thats Babymetal!! And if "Dream Theater" is your thing, check out "Tales of the Destines". Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater said in a tweet - "...am BLOWN away by what you've played me of @BABYMETAL_JAPAN! "Tales of the Destinies" is full-on PROG METAL" Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Maynard James Keenan lead singer of TOOL, PUSCIFER, and A PERFECT CIRCLE has a great song for you. THE DOOMED. It's about The Sermon and BEATITUDES. 🤞💯🔥✌
Great reaction...and I can feel your "pain" regarding the 4 month old, be strong! Anyways, since you mentioned "Prog", I would like to see your reaction to Babymetal's song "Tales of the Destinies". There is only one live recording, but for this either the Studio or Live version will work. Here is the link to the Studio version: th-cam.com/video/sAVRqCZYJW8/w-d-xo.html. Someone may be able to provide the "Live" link. There are some live footage fan made videos out there, but they can be challenging to watch. That said...looking forward to more reactions from you!
What I enjoy most about Su-Metal's vocals is that she doesn't have any of that bullshit exaggerated vibrato crap that American singers invariably has. Vocal masturbation. It's so incredibly annoying to listen to, and it's just to cover up that they can't hold a note. Su is all vocal perfection. She'll do slight vibrato if the song demands it, but she doesn't do that Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Beyonce braggy bullshit way of singing. Su-Metal doesn't care about bragging, because she's confident in her abilities. She'll sing softly if the song demands it, and she'll sing with full power if that's what's demanded.
Great reaction as usual, you are probably ready for Tales of the Destinies. You like Steve Vai? Have you checked out Yoyo doing a cover of For the Love of God? If not it's here: th-cam.com/video/gPtDTRxw_94/w-d-xo.html
Great reaction but baby metal, nightwish etc. wouldn’t be around if it wasn’t for 🔥ARCH ENEMY🔥, you’d love the raw power of lead singer Angela Gossow and now manager of the band, also a vocal teacher too. Her performance LIVE IN TOKYO is AMAZING!!
Not sure mate on your opinion Babymetal wouldn't exist if not for AE. What I am sure of is Kei Kobayashi (Kobametal) came up with an idea on his own of combining a Kawaii Jpop concept with Heavy Metal. I don't ever recall him or band members mentioning AE as a major influence in the creation of Babymetal. Feel free to link me to any reputable sources that confirms your opinion. Cheers Mate!!
I don't know... Nightwish and Arch Enemy were formed in the same year, 1996. If you say Carcass... but that is another story. BABYMETAL (it's one word) only exists because of the vision of Kobayashi and the unique performing skills of Nakamoto. Although Koba is a huge metal fan so... Only The Fox God Knows :)
@@bonhzeppelin55 Arch Enemy's 'Doomsday Machine' album is a Koba favorite, but there are 60 other albums, from groups like Judas Priest, Metallica, etc. on that list. I don't think they're a major influence, but Koba is a fan.
The Kami band are the best band out there from a player side of things. There isn't a genre of Metal that they "Can't" play extremely well. And in some cases they do better than bands that come from those genre's. It's crazy the stuff they play.

The instrumental with the solos is 'Mischief of the Metal Gods'. It often precedes Su-metal's solo song 'Rondo of Nightmare'.

The waning moon has lit up
the insanity rampant in the shade
The laughter resounds around
It bares its fangs and its eyes gleam
I can’t escape from it
It flickers slowly
appearing and disappearing in my mind
A nightmare rondo is being repeated
The awakening light
is gone far away out of my sight
I can do nothing but run
through the darkness
In the woods, in the fountain
I hide myself holding my breath
but it’s still coming closer to me
A stagnant voice. An endless night
Ah…

Great reaction! Loved it. I don't know how you didn't crank that treadmill up during the intro. lol
Nice reaction. Love this song and this performance. That's Su-metal with nerves of steel singing 6' up with lights in her face and no safety equipment.
There was a running magazine that picked BABYMETAL as the best group to exercise to.
Yay! It's my favourite reactor - Jimmy Fallon with beard! 😁
I have trouble sleeping at night 🥱thats what i get for being a night worker 😉🤣 after the tapping comment i was laughing to myself wait untill here sees /hears Boh how do you follow that a 16 year old Su comes out after that intro and follows it with ease thats why she is our Queen/Goddess 🔥🤘🦊🤘❤🔥
"Prog Metal " Just mention "Tales of The Destinies " by BabyMetal ❤
🤘🦊🤘
Every time I see/hear this it makes me think, someone in the world saying " Babymetal is not metal" . Kami band says " hold our beers ".🍺
but this song right here dude is juss something else man its so gooood
Everything important already said, even about the rising platform without any safety gear.
But there are two more aspects about that, the mind plays with your mind when you're
elevated above the ground AND Yui fell of the stage (not this elevated one) the night before
so I can imagine that Su had that in her mind too, performing fearlessly or at least it seems so.

The final chorus is as unsettling as the time signatures and offers no happy resolution:
It flickers slowly
appearing and disappearing in my mind.
A nightmare rondo is being repeated.
The awakening light
is gone far away out of my sight.
I can do nothing but fall
into the darkness.
Great reaction!
All it’s missing is a glass globe around the rotating stage and some snow and you’ve got the best snow globe ever created!
🤘🦊🤘
Great reactions man. Thanks for doing Babymetal. Prog Metal = 'Tales of the Destinies' but you MUST follow it with 'The One' as they are a box set. I think it will stop the treadmill in its tracks.
If you want to hear some truly amazing guitar work, check out Asterism. "Dawn" would be a great track to start with. Haruka Noma is the only guitar player I can think of right now that actually blow the Kamis out of the water.
@Sebs Duran - If you like Dream Theater, you should check out BabyMetal's Tales of Destinies.
ayy man loved the vid dawgg but mannnn hearing this song brought me back to guitar and i did a cover man barely haha but im workin on thisss 😏 theyre juss hella talented mann like fuckkk i gotta practice so hard
神バンド!
Queen Su!
"Tales of the Destinies" is full-on PROG METAL"
Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
I would shit myself being up there, with no security so it seems. Su is a badass
Prog metal? Dream Theater? you should listen TALES OF THE DESTINIES by BABMETAL.
Maynard James Keenan lead singer of TOOL, PUSCIFER, and A PERFECT CIRCLE has a great song for you. THE DOOMED. It's about The Sermon and BEATITUDES. 🤞💯🔥✌
RONDOOOOO!!! 🔥🔥🤘🦊🦊
Next reaction I suggest to dig in the Syncopation
It's a must bro
Heavy yet so catchy also so technically approved
🤘🤘🤘
Didn't sleep for 2 years.

BOH = Bass master.

Her name is Su metal , but you shall refer to her as Queen Su..
Next reaction babymetal catch me if you cant
Arch enemy has nothing to do with the existence of neither of those bands.
@@bonhzeppelin55 Arch Enemy's 'Doomsday Machine' album is a Koba favorite, but there are 60 other albums, from groups like Judas Priest, Metallica, etc. on that list. I don't think they're a major influence, but Koba is a fan.
Thx for the nice tidbit!🤘🦊🤘
Guitarist? Try sokoninaru
The Kami band are the best band out there from a player side of things. There isn't a genre of Metal that they "Can't" play extremely well. And in some cases they do better than bands that come from those genre's. It's crazy the stuff they play.
