No matter how often I watch this music video, it never ceases to impress me. The pictures are so powerful! It amazes me how everything fits together - the music, the lyrics, the voices, the smiles, the crowd, the presentation - it all works together perfectly and creates such an emotionally powerful experience. Sometimes just seeing that sea of hands doing the Fox sign that connects them all together is enough to move me to tears. I‘m really glad and proud to be part of this awesome community!
I think it was Moa that said in an interview that she had to hold onto herself to continue with the performance, since she wanted to wave at the fans all the time :)
Glad you did Tales of the Destinies and The One together as they are one long song from what I understand. The Tales of the Destinies has only been played ONCE live at the Tokyo Dome in front of 55,000 fans. The fans all had remote controlled light up Neck Braces that lit up during The ONE. So, when you get time you need to watch The One performed at the Tokyo Dome. It's mind blowing and was the last song of their world tour and was emotional for the girls and you can see them crying on stage at some shots. Was an awesome concert. This video is incredible and the Pyramid flying over the crowd was freaking incredible. Great Job, Great Reactions please keep the Babymetal coming, we love it.
You really hit it with the point about Babymetal's positivity. I listen to a lot of metal and so much of it is grim and gloomy, and Babymetal are this beacon of hope and optimism amidst all the negativity in the world and in metal. For me they're my musical palate cleanser.
Nice ONE 😉 thanks! This song, "The ONE" originated as a sort of spinoff from "Tales of the destinies". Koba wanted a new song based on that melody from "TOTD" and keeping the prog touch. The fact they dedicated it to their fans is so touching. The music video you watched has the studio version of the audio over the Yokohama Arena 2015 visuals (mostly). That was the song's live premiere. And the way they "joined" the crowd (The ONE) aboard that pyramid is amazing. Note that Su's mic has a wristband safety chord... well it's not polite to end a kitsune by a mic drop, I guess :)
This song always grabs me gives me goosebumps , feel nostalgic , happy and sad all at the same time. Amazing performance and truly wish I could see that in person! Great reaction
Not disappointing in the 2nd part of your reaction . They love us we Love them and you can see it in the performance and fans reaction back to them . We are the One ❤🤘🦊🤘
"Tales of the Destinies" and "The One" were conceived together and when you hear them together you get an even greater emotional impact than with "The One" on it's own. "The One" has a great melody and it reminds me of those epic prog rock productions of the 70s and 80s - it could be Yes and the comparison is high praise for Kobayashi, the song writers, BM and the Kamis. Su, Moa and Yui sing it beautifully, but the English lyrics are a bit clunky, IMO and I prefer the version you reviewed that has some Japanese. This song it a gift from BM to their fans and it has an amazing emotional impact. BM are a real contradiction. Kobayashi is famously careful not to allow any publicity with the girls outside of their BM personas, but he does try to "bridge the gap" to the fans with the flying pyramid and also with various thrust stages in other concerts. I don't think it's coincidence then that the fans use terms like "Queen" "and Princess" for the girls as it's the same relationship of distant "love" that people often have with royalty. Many fans feel a deep connection with BM, particularly if they have followed the group from their start with Sakura Gakuin. Kobayashi has build on the connection with lore and emotional songs and the fans have created their own sub-culture, lore and memes, involving tomatoes, Deloreans, frogs etc. However, when a fanbase identifies so strongly with a group, change can be difficult and that was shown when Yui left and the impact that loss had on many fans, and I think BM themselves.
My first concert was Yes in the 1970s. I hear a little Yes in a lot of Babymetal songs. I was also a Deadhead and I feel that Dead community in the Babymetal community.
I love how they always make the effort to get as close to the fans as they can, this stuff costs $ and they don't have to do it. Imagine being one of those fans in the crowd and you get eye contact and a smile from one of those girls as they pass overhead in a steel cage, you would never forget that moment. If I remember correctly when asked if she was scared to go in the cage, Moa said she was afraid she might get emotional and her tears could fall on the fans, imagine being that guy lol
Excellent Sebs-metal! You've not only become a part of "THE ONE", but your well articulated reactions via your well produced channel help proliferate "THE ONE". Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult
You’re an incredible dude Sebs! Thanks for your reactions. You hit it on the head - this is a community. And in this day and age community is what’s going to get us all through- God Bless
Good one👊🏽⚡️I’m right there with you. I love that the overall feeling that Babymetal music gives out. Always positive, sometimes silly, sometimes intense. A beautiful experience..
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。One thing is certain. If you are acrophobic, you cannot be a member of BABYMETAL 😄 You also like Nemophila, don't you? Saki, an excellent shredding guitarist of Nemophila and a big BM fan, told in an interview "The One is so difficult that it is not a kind of song humans should play. It is, however, very cool and decently cute" [source: Japanese magazine Headbang vol.24 page 120]. Some people said this song was a little bit too repetitive. But in their live performance you feel as if the length of this song were only 30 seconds and want to listen to it forever. I witnessed it total 10 times at venues. Whenever they performed this song, I saw divine beauty and heard angelic voices. Su's current matured and richer voice gives you different feeling, I guess. To me, this 2015 version sounds like a call and 2021 version sounds like an embrace.
Excellent "double shot" and not to many take the back to back route....glad you did! No need for me to praise the band, you already get it, but I will say that I am glad that they "happened" during my time of this earth. Totally love the vibe they have had, continue to have...and hopefully, will have again!
⚡ 💀 💕 /🔺 This is (as I'm sure you noticed) a mixed English and Japanese version of 'THE ONE'. The music video has the audio from the domestic (Japanese) studio recording of the Metal Resistance album. At Tokyo Dome, 'Tales of the Destinies' led into an all English version of 'THE ONE'. If you have the chance, watch those two songs at Tokyo Dome back to back. The song is usually performed in English, even in Japan, although there have been a few exceptions. The international release of the Metal Resistance album has the all English version of this song.
I'm in my mid 70's and have been following BabyMetal for about four years and the hair on my arms stand up every time I hear this song. If you want to hear two other beautiful songs that will affect you like that, listen to Wagakki Band and Sabaku No Komoriuta (Desert Lullaby) and Nijiro Chouchou (Iridescent Butterfly). Both of these songs affect me the same way The One does, as does Road of Resistance.
Great reaction, as always, and praise for the ONE - the song and the community. The ONE spans the world and yet - almost - everyone is so embracing, courteous, and supportive. "We are the ONE . . Forever on your Side." Please react to "The One . . . Stairway to a Living Legend." It was just SuMoa in an empty Budokan in an ethereal setting. It was the last song released before BM was sealed from the world. The message at the end of the song led many to believe "our" BM was disbanding or one of dozens of other speculations. It's very emotional for most of the dedicated members of the ONE.
I laughed my ass off when you mentioned norm macdonal because as a classical music fan which is completely unrelated i m in my Babymetal/Norm Macdonal phase for some reasons
Great reaction! It's a damn shame that the version you ended up watching was this one. I mean this version is still great but, the performance of The One from the same show at the Tokyo Dome that Tales of the Destinies was preformed in is the version of The One that you want to watch. Not simply because it's the version that was preformed right after but also because it is a FAR MORE powerful performance of that song and it is entirely sung in English. It gets so emotionally intense that there is a very very brief moment, a real blink and you miss it moment where Su breaks character and is in awe of the fans... It was amazing! ... just talking about it makes me want to watch it again! Which I shall!! Anyways, weather you react to it or watch it on your own time I hope you end up watching that version. Can't wait for the next one!
sadly culdnt watch man ..... im staying true bro i fr wanna react to them but glad yu checkd this out 🔥💯 im sure it was amazimg man ive heard the original
Two reactions to Babymetal in one day? What a nice and welcome surprise! Too bad you didn’t watch the Tokyo Dome performance/video :( I think that performance was even more impressive. Not only was the song full in English there, but also 55.000 neck brace lights were handed to the fans attending and lit up during that song. You can’t even imagine how impressive it was. I absolutely agree with you, a lot of Babymetal have such positive messages and are so uplifting, it is incredible. Btw stop skipping your treadmill routine xd! Looking forward to your next reaction Sebs and stay metal!
Rumor is that they wrote this song after realizing that their fans had started to learn Japanese.

At 16, I was just learning to speak to people properly. These girls are singing in Tokyo Dome floating on a pyramid over lthousands of fans.
the girls said it was hard to stick to the choreography because they wanted to wave to the fans!

They are awesome. Great stuff. BABYMETAL are very special.

Moa said the hardest part of flying over the fans was concentrating on doing their choreography because they really wanted to wave to everyone. 🤘🦊🤘
