I think it made sense to leave it for a little while but agreed that he should have prepared to take the kill earlier than he did. The reason I say it made sense initially is that it would prevent blue from card blocking him so he could keep getting cards even if black was stronger behind the cap
@@TheKillPeteStrategy Don't worry Pete I knew you had it all along. Poor Blue was a mobile player so he couldn't move very fast, and admittedly I don't think he was great at the game. In all fairness he's got AMAZING patience which should almost always be enough to get him to top 2, but the speed along with his overall decision making (and you outplaying him), gave him no chance to win. Even if he didn't have a speed disadvantage I don't think he would've been experienced enough to win regardless.
At 48:52 you had a great opportunity to end the game. You could have hit blue with your 986 stack and your 666 stack blowing up his 1200 stack. With odds, you would more than likely have 400+ troops left after attacking. Then you use your 916 stack to blow up black, while leaving 400 or so on cap and capturing black cap. End move would be fortifying your 180 stack to italy to what's left of your 666 and 986 stack after you blow up blue's 1200. Should have been enough to card block blue in italy. Good game nonetheless just something I saw and thought you might like to review.
Great game! This was really informative in showing blocks, pivots, and effectiveness of turn-order. I liked that you didn’t have alliances on here to show another level to the silent skill side of things. GG!!
Minor observation at 54:54 I'm wondering if killing black was the play here set hit the blue 150 stack to set up the block completely but things work out anyways so very minor or even incorrect play change. (note i just watch at this point im reallly rusty.)

Hey Pete, I was gonna mention it before I realized VC plays it, but Spaceport Ligma meta settings makes for some interesting games. As well as Trigons.
I'm not claiming black and blue were the same person.... But they played with the same speed, never hit each other, collabed to kill yellow, fortified troops off cap the same way when blocked, and took the exact same break path after you killed black and blue finally came out of their shell.
i think they are just both on mobile, not much you can do to increase your speed there as far as a i know. Was wierd though that they never broke his eastern europe bonus
I think if black and blue were collabbing or the same person they would've both hit Pete at the same time. But for blue to let the war continue between the two suggests that at best they were friendly to the point of not attacking but not necessarily teaming either.

Europe advanced capitals + fog/blizzards + no alliances. I believe it's supposed to be the least likely settings for a noob to ruin your game and is more consistent skill = good performance settings block.
Hi Pete, I’ve noticed a bug in the TH-cam app (particularly TV) if a creator posts videos in 60fps and the viewer changes the video speed it drops to 480p. I like to watch nearly all of my content on 1.5-1.75. Is it easy for you to post a 1080p non-60fps version of your videos?
it's yt doing that, it judges your internet speed at the time of changing the video to 1.5/1.75 to be too bad to allow for 1080p streaming of the video. you can forcibly change it to 1080p afterwards.
This happens because YT sees that your network is unable to cope up with higher speed. And no, youtube to my knowledge unfortunately doesn't allow 60fps and the normal 24fps at the same time.

Of course that would advantage the last player in the turn order, but it would encourage people to be more aggressive to avoid getting to that last round. Like fog of war and blizzards, it would be optional to add to a match.
Not a bad idea. Would be nice to see a myriad of different game modes, or game mode variations. Maybe a "labs" subset of game modes would be an effective way to parce out new viable gamemodes.
I believe the cap you have chosen is one of the best caps on this map. You can cut the map in half by holding two more territories below. I am using the slider for true random as well. I am adjusting it to 99% since there is no 100%. I am hoping it will help me to loose least amount of troops while attacking. What do you think?

Isn’t it because to use just enough troops to capture the territory so that we don’t have any unnecessary losses in worst case scenario? Why is that true random is any different? Yes, we cannot adjust the slider to 100% but we can still adjust it to 99%. I am not an expert on anything. You are definitely more knowledgeable in Risk than me. My logic says if the rule applies to blitz, it should also apply to true random as well. I don’t know mate. I will take your word over mine. I am just brainstorming. For instance, we need 9 troops for 99% to defeat 2 defending troops in true random. It is not of course 100%. We may loose all 9 if we fail. What if we attack with more than 9? Let’s say 18. Isn’t it still 99% even if we use twice as many troops? Isn’t there still a 1% chance we may loose all 18 troops if the attack fails? Am I missing something? What do you think?
26 minutes in and I'm looking at pete in a 3 man game with half the board and can't help but wonder how this game isn't even halfway though yet. This is going to be interesting
Why do you not make 2 stacks everywhere at like 30 minutes (or a bit more early)? You are not getting a big change in offence but it can help you a lot in defence right?
2 stacks are good in TR defensively. With BB they easily cost more then they offer in terms of defense and they take troops away from just ones ability to leverage their advantage into kills. I don't really recommend playing these settings defensively unless you want to take a card and pass for hours.
Hey Pete, I'm surprised you didn't farm an extra card from the black bot by attacking them and leaving no troops there, allowing them to get to 3 and then killing them the following turn. Did you just not think of it in the moment or was there a reason you did it that way?
Please explain to me why you kept allowing black to break across the top when you could have just put a stack there and blocked him? Wouldn't it have just needed to be the size of his turn generation unless he had cards? Then you could have prevented him from getting cards... You have thousands of games on me probably lol. I just want to understand... it felt like you were drawing the game out when you could have just stopped black..?
At some point I figured they would stop hitting me and realize. Also I cant afford to overcommit too early because the ends up throwing the game in blues favour if black only hits me so I need to get to the sweet spot where the cards are worth enough for me to solo kill black and still win the 1v1

Sometimes if you take too much too quickly you force the board to address you. And with risk 2v1 over a long period of time is certain death so you have to grow slowly and carefully much of the time.
I keep floating between high high expert to gm because of games like that. Ending up in full stale mates and you have to do something to advance the game. When the once advancing it never wins.
This game tends to rattle me haha. Sometime I feel like someone is using a pc and phone at the same time to tag team players in a lobby to score easy ranking points. Happens way too much. Other than the cheats it’s a fun game if played with respect.
Did you See that they posted their code?? Raise money to fund a guy to go over the code and potentially correct it for them?? Just an Idea? @TheKillPeteStrategy

I didn't think I needed it and didn't want to risk giving the kill and the cards up if I fortified wrong or whatever.

The standard settings are - Standard Map with Progressive cards and no Bliz/portals/fog
They're settings that create the biggest skill gap between noobs and GMs, increasing the odds of higher skill players to win

And how would that help? Just decide that the player with the most amount of troops win or something? Or stop giving cards until a player dies?
