Definitely my favourite Car SOS episode

One of my fave episodes. Renovated and recommissioned rather than a show piece. Superb job.
Only one of my fleet is a minter. There's a smug satisfaction in running around in a vehicle that looks like an old banger but. is actually running and driving at least as good if not better than new.

Having recently watched the programme where they renovated (not restored) the Tilly, it's nice to see the extra detail of the engine rebuild.

Thanks Fuzz, good old fashioned mechanicing, I could watch you working all day long. Takes me back to my student/Austin 7 Ruby days in the 1960s. I got to know these engines like the back of my hand, especially as a friend had a 1935 Austin 10/4 at the time.

dean wood Come on mate, do you really belive in crap shows like this. If you want to see a real classic car work shop .And real people working on classic cars. Then thats not the show to watch.

The older mechanic doesnt wear blue gloves, proper mechanic from the olden days.

It's a good way to absorb chemicals and toxins/carcinogens in through the skin, though.

I had to laugh when the older guy said that going by the split pins in the crankshaft main bearing caps, that it is most likely that the crank had never been removed before, being an ex mechanic myself, i have never known an engine having had a re bore with the crank in situ.
