I love how it looked but you should’ve done a waterproofing coat AND a sun resistant one and I dont think black was the best choice for the TOP of the board but either way it looks great! Well done cosmetic wise!
lumilols - that was my first thought, even in cold water, once you paddle back in , it ( your board) better go in the shade somewhere. Still though, pretty frigin slick paint job though, rite ? 🤙🏻
Next time invest in UV clear coating. That one will turn yellow with the sun. Also not a smart choice. Black will heat your board. I have black in one of mine but on the bottom. \_/
hey ! love the job ! Love the color. I started spray painting a board, but after 2 coats the result is rather horrible... uneven color, loads of more or less dark/clear patches. The original color is blue. It doesn't appear underneath. Any idea why ? Do I have to add more coats ?? I'd be greatful for you opinion .
this is all wrong yo all you really need to do is sand with 400 grit until no longer reflective then degreace and tac cloth and bam ready to paint 3 to 4 layers of paint then wait a bit for the paint to cure and clear coat and then the next day buff to get rid of orange peel and you will have a rad paint job
Hey buddy can u give me an idea on how to fit a usb adapter into a diy power bank that I want to build..im lost on the fitting it has two usb n one led plus the input for charging..
Aegeon Blue huh , never even thought of that, was thinking of painting my old yellow ass longboard someone gave me, maybe a slight standing of the glass on top would help out with the wax sticking a bit better 🤙🏻
i recommend krylon good paint but if you are on a budget you can get away with rustoleum its not the paint so much its the hand and controll of the wrist
If you spray a board with cheap colors and take it into the ocean the ocean water will peel off the spray paint quite fast (because it's not a professional coloring process), small organisms like plankton die fast from toxic products... also cheap sunscreen is a problem read here if you are interested in the sunscreen problem... www.harpersbazaararabia.com/beauty/expertise/your-sunscreen-could-be-harming-our-oceans ...the color he uses in the video is this one 3:04 : www.aceuae.com/en/ace-uae/165142#pdp_box_img_1[pp_gal]/0/ I quote the label from the can "HARMFUL IRRITATES EYES, SKIN AND RESPIRATORY TRACT" so if it's already harmful to our robust skin you can imagine what it does to sensible micro organisms. And no, a cheap (and also toxic) clear lacquer will not protect the color from peeling off. Let's do all we can to leave our stuff away from mother nature ! Oceans are producing 50% of all oxygen, please don't kill :D
It’s very true, a professional would apply any coloring under the resin to ensure everything is locked in and water tight. Much respect for those who bring awareness to the next generation.
Luke Bauer surely the resin used in every surfboard is just as harmful as a laquer or paint then? And the salt in the water would dissolve most chemicals enough considering its such a small amount?
Thanks a lot UltraHaze for understanding and the further explanation of the coloring process ! I hope more and more people will get sensible for topics like that :)
What a beautiful work

That must get as hot as Hades in the sun.
Goomer ending with delamination
I love all the deviations from your original plan lol
any DIYer knows this effect lol
Never spray paint under the sun!
Wax is going to melt a lot faster

Why? The color is too dark?
@@2012truth1776 that's right 🤙
@@user-in4rj black absorbs heat a lot more than lighter colors and heat makes wax melt
Ya, just dont leave your board in the sun.

Hey did you ever finish the project? If so shoot some suggestions over!
Looked better b4 but good technique ideas
doesn't it add weights to your surfboard and make it less buoyant ? or is it just meant to be a display?
Spray paint won't make it less buoyant, but will hurt it faster
black on top deck ,wax will never stay on it
if you only surf at night that should not be n issue
Were you sanding in between coats? Looks great!

Do you have to spray a waterproof/ protective coat?
Oh yay! My favorite song! ...next.
Haha I thought the same thing. Fuck me that song was shit house

S W E E E T ! ! !
The paint stays on in salt water?
Year later but yes because the clear coat keeps it protected
Acrylic spray paint right?
Hey what is the size of your board
Was that a snapped surfboard?
leave it in the sun for 15 minutes it will delam. It is stupid as s hit to paint your board black...lol
Wax doesn’t stick well to paint

Could you do this with a soft top
Are you dumb? Of course not
I mean you can spray paint anything you like but it won't be any good
