The extra amazing BTS tidbit is that after the 12-hour day to shoot this awesomeness, most of them got up the next morning to dance in J.None's video, Thank Gawd It's Friday. Yes, dance.
Their makeup/prosthetics guy, Rick Underwood, sold them on the idea of the progressive infection changes. It was definitely a challenge for everyone, but the result was STUNNING. This shoot took ALL DAY -- like, morning to past dinnertime. Talk about dedication. VoicePlay remain the Kings of Halloween!
I was impressed that you had Vincent Price’s monologue memorized. Was loving your chair dancing. It would seem it makes everybody dance to some degree. Not only did they pull Geoff down, they pushed him back up too. Hahaha it was fun watching Geoff just stand there and watch “Kathy” fly. We love you too.
Kathy was doing the zombie biting Layne. She had gone shopping for a doll (Greta Gruesome) that was dressed like her and Layne looked like he wanted it out of the park.
Love, love, love VoicePlay's cover of "Thriller." Thanks for this reaction! Kathy is unrecognizable in her role as "floor zombie." The carrot through Layne's brain was absolutely necessary with J back 🙂 Those zombie eye contacts are freaky! Geoff makes a wonderful Vincent Price substitute with his narration.
It was Kathy's idea, during setup for the shoot, to have Layne kick "her" away. The doll Layne kicks resembles Kathy's character thanks to Rick Underwood's magic and is from Spirit Halloween . They call her Greta the Gruesome (actually, she's Little Greta and Kathy is Big Greta). Once he becomes a full-on zombie, Geoff never blinks when on screen. They began early in the morning of the shoot day and didn't finish until 9-10 PM.
Kings of Halloween killed it again! Loved how they turned the original 17 minute MJ video into one that kept all the great parts in it. If you haven’t seen the BTS it’s a must! It’s almost 30 minutes long and you get the story of Kathy’s mini me Greta. 😂
When voice play dives in head first they really dive in head first and everything that they do, they don't just come out swinging they come out with guns blazing. 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌!!!!!!!! 10 mic drop. This is my highest rating ever out of all other ratings.
For someone starting out the day, you were amazingly good on picking up things. It took me a few time to catch all those . (But I don’t have it memorized either!) The “stunt zombie” was played by Gruesome Greta from the Halloween store. Rick Underwood, the makeup artist, airbrushed her so she more closely resembled Kathy’s makeup. (It’s not like she had a close-up, but they are the masters of a small details. 🤣) I love the part that where J is trying to get out through the door, similar to the original Michael Jackson video. I love how his voice is so tremulous like he’s really scared that the guys are going to get him. Oooops! They did!🤣 🧟😳🎃🥕🤧👻😱🧟♂️ J also released a single, I believe on the same day. He’s performing TGIF Glide with Stefan Salters and some of the VoicePlay family is in the video toward the end when they’re doing the glide. I love how they’re such good friends and want to spend time with each other. J even brought the crazy motorcycle/mini Batmobile apparatus to the studio so the guys could see it. That little contraption is featured in J’s video.
"Oh my Vincent Price!"😅 Very good! Anyone who says they don't recite or at least mouth the words at the voiceover is a LIAR! Thanks for a great reaction to one of VoicePlay's very best, Dennis!😊
@@judithboulden3456 I don't know what age you are, but I know you have good taste in music, because you like VoicePlay😊. Frankly, "Thriller" isn't just about MJ singing. It goes beyond that. And I don't think it's a generational thing. I know kids who have no idea who Elvis is, or The Beatles or Madonna, but they know "Thriller." It doesn't hurt that it's also the top selling record of all time. It is quite possibly the most iconic song since "White Christmas." And the video is a masterpiece. I would strongly suggest giving it a chance, and watching the full video. If nothing else, you'll see what inspired VoicePlay to make this. AND the bonus of hearing Vincent's delightfully spooky voice! Oh, AND seeing the original dance performance, which is probably the best known, most replicated dance of this and the end of last century. I can't prove it, but I'm fairly certain there's a law that anytime zombies and music and dancing ate happening, they *_HAVE_* to use at least SOME of the moves from that dance.😉 LOL!😅
This was insanely evil. I loved it. Watching them slowly turn into zombies was cool. The makeup was incredible. I loved how Layne punted Zombie Kathy for a field goal. Did Layne ever play in the NFL?
In case it makes you feel better, Layne didn’t actually kick Kathy. That was stunt zombie Greta the Gruesome. But Kathy and Greta were made up to look alike.
"Return of the carrot!" Spoken like a true VoicePlaya. And you weren't fooled by Kathy for one second. 😄Thanks for this fun reaction!
I think this was a 12 hour shoot. Rick Underwoods makeup magic.
Is that how us fans are called? VoicePlaya? Been some weeks now but had yet to hear the term lol

They had progressive make-up changes with This Is Halloween so I don't think it would have taken too much convincing.

makeup and prosthetics on point... now go back and rewatch as Geoff, once zombified, NEVER blinks (on camera).
and btw - only the handle works. lol.

Ever since Geoff laughed in “Enemy,” I’ve thought he sounded like Vincent Price from the OG version of this song. He killed that narrative!
RIP Vincent Price, Geoff made him proud. They killed this!! So glad you reacted to this, I've missed them.

No matter how much I love someone, they zombie bite me, they're getting kicked! 😂
Really loved your reaction to this, Dennis!! ❤

I was never a MJ fan. I don't think I have ever watched more than a moment of the original Thriller. However, I have watched this many times.

If i remember correctly, they had a 7am to 9pm day, filming this beast, and they even had use two makeup artists to get it all done in that time.

They Killed this cover❕️❗️
YESSS!! This is what VP is all about. Theatrical killer arrangements with acapella perfection. Halloween is here! Trick or treat y'all.
They do put in a shed-load of work to get these to us 😉. 🌹🕊

Not only that but the kick was actually Kathy’s idea!
Loved your reaction to this really looking forward to the next one.
They’re all fantastic!! Killed it😊😊😊
Layne, the carrot king.
