    You cooked SUPER well brotha! Super fun theorying and learning from you. We gotta run this back again. Yubel is by far the most superior and combo heavy out of all the decks atm. Its so rewarding to play this deck well. You guys are in for a treat, Trinity is the GOAT with this deck!

    *NOTE : [I ended day 1 with a 7-2 score!]
    For some reason i forgot to discuss against what i lost and why, so here are my match ups again
    (There wasnt a single match where tenpai didnt shifter/Koaki meur'd me, even tho i won most of my tenpai match ups, it wasnt a fun experience playing against that deck) :
    Tenpai (won) [Won dice]
    Tenpai (won) [Won dice]
    Tenpai (won) [Lost dice]
    Snake eyes Fiendsmith (Won) [Lost dice]
    Tenpai (won) [won dice]
    Ritual beast - against Herman Hansson (Won) [Won dice]
    Snake eyes Fiendsmith (lost in Time because of Lacrima 1200 burn) [lost dice]
    Tenpai (won) [won dice]
    Tenpai (lost because of shifter + Koaki meru normal summon game 3) [lost dice]
    Day 2 :
    Runick Stun (Lost because of 1000 Floodgates + Deckout) [Lost dice]
    - Im still hyped to Play yugi and love this game, sometimes it is what it is!

    I would be on my villain arc after that. I agree completely, tenpai IS a stun deck. Especially when they choose to go first and side in a bunch of blowout floodgates like simul archfiends and heat wave.

    Nice video as always! I agree Spirit can go to 1 if you cut Varudras except for 1 major reason: so many people on Bystials. If you start with throne pop spirit, lots of people will bystial the spirit if they got other HT's, to choke off the phantom... and in doing so, they now accidentally kill your entire engine. It could be a good meta call when there's no bystials in the format, but right now? I'd never dare (even though I've been a Spirit hater from day 1 lol).
    One thing you mention is how your deck building felt worse vs Tenpai, but I actually feel like this breaker approach works well vs Tenpai for 2 reasons:
    - TTT punishes them hand trapping you (except for shifter lol, and mulch). Since loads of Tenpai players were still on Phantazmay, Ash Blossom, Bystials, etc.. The odds of you randomly auto-winning off a Talents is actually very big. You're much more likely to win from TTT vs Tenpai than from veiler or nib or even imperm (since they got 3 pot, 2 LS, 1 duster) (again tho: RIP if shifter)
    - With breakers, you get to play a slightly lower deck count so you see more engine and thus combo through their hand traps more often (and every time we combo, we win vs them)
    This type of build being solid into Tenpai is also shown even more by the fact that you beat all but 1 lol... Ofc having mind control/drnm vs them sucks game 1 (tho post side drnming a koaki meiru is still glorious and it's actually an issue I've had with hand traps vs their koaki meiru... They now chain block the seals so you can't ash it... only crow or mourner is a clean out)
    Keep up the great content!

    • @TrinityYGO
      @TrinityYGO  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      whats up my friend!
      and yea, youre right! bystials are also a factor to keep in mind, probably too risky to cut spirit down to 1
      and yea, in theory youre right.
      the problem is that i got really unlucky, they ALWAYS shiftered me and if they shifter or even purulia on top of that in the DP, they wait before they use any normal handtrap because they know, i cant do that much to threaten them.
      thats why most of the time, my non engine was stuck in my hand.
      so in short : a lot of my opponents just kept the other handtraps in hand without using them.
      and going second youre also right!
      dark ruler and droplet etc. are good to break the board but the problem here is again : shifter.
      They not only play shifter, they also side into DDG
      so a lot more chances of being under shifter if they go first.
      so even if you dark ruler them, you still cant do much under shifter and because tenpai is a fun deck : they have 100 1 card combos that just kills you.
      luckily yubel has a good match-up (on equal grounds) against tenpai, thats why i won most of the match ups. if i were on snake eyes, i wouldve lost a lot more!
      every win and every loss counts so thats why i feel a bit frustrated that i got paired against stun and a lot of tenpai matches where it was just a matter of time when shifter and other floodgates cost me a game!
      but i still love the game, like i said, a few of my friends faced a LOT more snake eyes, so maybe i was unlucky

    Very excited to see the list!
    I am definitely leaning towards the board breaker approach myself at this point. Hand traps were simply not sufficient in the regional I played in, and when I actually saw enough hand traps to matter I didn't have enough access to engine to control the game. I'm a huge fan of your choice of 3 Squirmer and will probably just go ahead and do that now.
    I do have questions about your experience regarding cutting Varudras, though. When I lose going first, it is almost always due to one of two things - Getting hand trapped to death so I can't play, or having the opponent slam down a Spell/Trap board breaker like Raigeki/Lightning Storm/Evenly Matched and answering most of my board in one go. I almost never felt like more monster negates on an established board was the way to go, so I prioritize Varudras over Apo in every post INFO list I've made. I know Desirae can answer breakers (card is incredible), but you're just not always in the situation where you can realistically make it if you would rather make Caesar or need to use Aerial Eater to continue your combo line. Curious as to your thoughts on a potential bigger weakness to breakers without Varudras.
    Unfortunately, I had pretty much the same experience as you in a regional I played in this weekend. Came in prepared for Snake-Eye only to get smacked around by Tenpai, Runick Stun, and Ritual Beasts all day. It's really frustrating, but it is what it is. Glad you had a positive experience anyway, thanks for the content!

    I also played board breakers, but went for all quick-play spells (3 droplet, 3 eclipse, 3 chalice, 3 ttt) because i didn't want dead cards in hand when i went 1st. I played 2 mirrors (1l 1w), 1 snake-eye (l), 1 vanquish soul (w) and 1 tenpai (l), but i didn't see any breakers going 2nd, just engine, and that wasn't enough. I also had handtraps in side to combat gimmick puppet and despia mainly. So i didn't have any success in the main event, but i won an 8-man and our team went 4-0 in 3v3, so it wasn't a complete bust.

    • @lifequality
      @lifequality 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TrinityYGOYou are right about these decks / matches being an un-fun experience, but let’s be absolute honest here: these decks are symptom carriers of a bigger issue going on. That is Konami’s way of printing card effects and designing product. Snake-eye fiendsmith is just sth that just isn’t ok to actually happen in a TCG. Any other card game would be reacting immediately. Yet here we are in round X of living through absolute problematic formats. And if those problems are backed-up by the company that is running the products and the IP, I can absolutely understand why people choose to play a 200$ deck that is unfun but could actually win some matches rather than a 900$ deck that is purely existing because Konami counts of these very few people that are always going out of their way to buy into these absurd prices (and i am not talking out of jealousy. I could buy those decks in an instant with no fiancial impact but I simply refuse, because it’s bad for the game itself.).
      In the end, we are at a point in Yugioh’s lifespan where we NEED for Konami to change if WE want a better and healthier metagame. If they dont change and we further continue to accept all of it as we did for many years now, nothing will change for the very metagame of Yugioh and we will continue to play a lot of those toxic formats where 900$ decks are only met by very few other decks mainly control cancer and OTK strategies (and while it sucks to sit in front of those, nobody can be blames for running them as the best alternative to the corporate deck of choice.).

    Hello, great list! Thank you for sharing it with us!
    Regarding the 3x Mind Controllers, why not 2x Mind Control + 1x Snatch Steal? I would assume it would allow you to grab a monster permanently and allow you to use it for attacking.
    What do you think of pure Yubel decks nowadays? I don't feel like dropping 240 euros in a playset of Fiendsmith Engraver just yet (I already got the Requiem and Tract) but I am aware that it is a poor combination. I am testing a variant where I run 3x spirit of yubel, 2x yubel and 1x terror incarnate, with 1x foolish burial to drop into the graveyard whatever I need to complete my full combo if I find myself in that situation (e.g. drop gravesquirmer to SS a spirit of yubel in hand, drop spirit of yubel if I can revive it with opening.., etc.)
    Really appreciate that you are running boardbreakers vs handtraps this format, from your last video on this topic I KNEW you were going to run 3x Dark Rule no More and 3x Droplet, as I myself tested this approach.

    • @TrinityYGO
      @TrinityYGO  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i thought about snatch but in my mind it was a ''weaker'' version since it rarely ever matters that you can keep it even after your turn ends because the fiendsmith games are often decided after one turn! on top of that snatch can be removed so it has a higher risk :)
      i actually think pure yubel is still capable and you can 100% top with it, you have a few benefits like an extra deck that is a lot more flexible (anguish, accesscode etc.) so it even has some upside.
      of course if you play 10 games against fiendsmith you will realise that the grind game and the higher ceiling of fiendsmith matters a lot but its not impossible to perform with the pure variant!

    So a 42 list. I wonder if you tested Thrust into Evenly game 1 instead of 3rd Talent and the Mind Controls. Since we can't keep up with handtrap ratios of Snake Fiendsmith I also shifted to boardbreakers as a tester for 3 friends going to EUWCQ (I couldn't due to work, sadly I got "betrayed" and instead of using my Yubel deck 1 of my friends used Tenpai but at least bubbled)
    I also think 3 DBB is better but chickened out of playing it due to Droll. My mistake. From what I heard Droll wasn't as popular as I expected with Charmy being way more represented.
    For the side deck, how was Nib? Respecting Tenpai more (since I playtested most against it) I swapped them for Crows. Then the final slot went to Ogre although I wanted to play the 3 Bystials (Magna/Druis/Bald).
    I didn't expect Mind Control to put as much work as you said it would, my main deck non-engine would have been: 3x DRNM, 3x Droplet, 2x TTTalent, 1x TTThrust, 2x Evenly, 3x Imperm, 1x Escape (instead of Chamber) at 42.
    In the extra, I also tested without Varudras but lost harder to Raigeki/Storm. Hence, I removed Apo instead (easy to replace with Samsara anyway without giving value to the opponent's Talent) expecting heavy removal post-side. Of course, you know me I prioritized keeping Yama in the GY. But my playtesting is a little scuffed because I can predict my friends since we play for years.
    I would love to remote duel you somehow someday.

    • @TrinityYGO
      @TrinityYGO  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      (It should be 43 cards!)
      I tested thrust and it worked fine!
      The problem is that it can be stopped by handtraps and droll hurts if you have to start with double boardbreaker!
      I didn’t played evenly because I valued mind control/change of heart against apollousa a lot and they worked better than expected!
      And for me personally it was fine, Caesar was putting in a lot of work and with the adapted combo lines, instead of varudras, we have Caesar now!
      And I agree with the boardbreaker (as you saw) but sadly I got punished doing that so you have to be careful, even tho people say it’s an almost-tier 0 format, it didn’t felt like that for me atleast. So such "drastic“ choices as maining 13 boardbreaker come with a risk!
      I just predicted and hoped for more fiendsmith match ups!

    ah now i see why sam was mad about getting gimmick puppet FTK'd. no hand traps just says you accept you auto lose to that deck any time you play against it if they go first. yeah you can smoke screen into siding all your board breakers for hand traps but it doesn't solve the issue of the deck basically hard losing to board breakers since you play 0 back row hate.
