- This is mainly a hiking / travel video of Canyonlands National Park. Follow us as we explore many of the sights and overlooks. Along the way I will be informing you of how and why I recorded many of these clips. I learned a lot of these useful filming techniques by watching and learning from others who were more experienced than me on TH-cam of course.
The lesson takes place in a beautiful classroom. Thank you for your good tips, Craig. 👍👍👍
Thank you. Hope you have a great weekend.

Good tips. Good to think it through . You do have good camera style. Cool place too😊. Could be Grand Canyon. 👍
Thank you. I appreciate it. It definitely does look like the Grand Canyon. Just not as deep I think.

Thank you. Canyonlands was fun.
Always love your adventures in climbing Canyonlands, exciting and interesting. Share the extraordinary beauty of nature. Thank you for these 10 tips for improving film making, very useful.
Thank you. I appreciate it. Have a great weekend.
Great tips. My personal fav of yours is when you shoot from the ground’s perspective. Another thing you do well is the use of music, the lizard scene for example. Just like we taste with our nose, music adds to our visual experience. Your work is inspiring.
Thank you. This is a great comment. I appreciate it. I try hard to find music that will fit the scene, and look for interesting angles to film. Hope you have a great weekend.
Great video, Such a beautiful place, thank you for sharing. 😃😃😃
Thank you. Have a great weekend.
WOW! beautiful place

Thanks, Craig! I enjoyed the scenery and tips 😊
What a beautiful place to visit! The scenery is truly impressive and beautiful to see. Your footage is so lovely. Thank you for sharing, my friend! 👍
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
I really like your filming. It is exceptional! Totally idiotic that just about everyone is holding their cell phones vertically, nor should they accept vertical cell phone videos.
Thank you. That’s another basic tip I could have said in here about vertical. It’s only good for TH-cam shorts or tictoc. All full videos need to be horizontal. Have a great day. 👍
I am amazed by the scenery created by nature. I enjoyed the video ^^👍
Thank you. Have a great weekend.
Beautiful places make it easier for sure, thanks for the video.
Thank you. They do but the same photo and video rules still apply.
We were very entertained and enjoyed the beautiful natural beauty that you find in very enjoyable climbing destinations
Thank you. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
Very useful and cool tips Craig! And another outstanding video with unbielevable sceneries! 👏👏👏👏
Thank you. This place definitely had some beautiful scenery. Have a great weekend.
@@CraigKoppel Thank you Craig, and you!!

Thank you. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
Thanks, Craig! I enjoyed the scenery and tips 😊
Thank you. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
Thanks for sharing this awesome climbing 👏 😊
Thank you. Have a great weekend.
Oh heck yeah, I learned something! The information about panning in one direction is something that I don't do, but I will! Running the camera along a feature as a subject enters and moves in the same direction is definitely a keeper, and the rule of thirds also speaks to me! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. All these tips are nothing new. They are already out there on TH-cam. Hopefully, some people who watched this can learn something and apply it to their videos.
Thank you Craig for the advice! Love that scenery!! I so much want to go back to Utah!! 😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you. It is probably one of the prettiest states.
Great tips, Craig!
It's always nice to share what we know with others😀
Thank you.
This place is amazing! Great tips Craig!
Thank you, I appreciate it. Have a great weekend.
I am early today! Great tips to capture the feels, nature, and wide-range view🥰
Thank you. I appreciate it.
I'm glad you made a video like this. As you know, I've always thought your shots are among the best from a creativity standpoint. It was nice of you to share your expertise. 👍
Thank you. I was reluctant to shoot something like this. All these tips are nothing new though. They are already out there for people to find on TH-cam. I wouldn’t call myself an expert. I just try to be creative and apply what I’ve learned.
Excellent tips, Craig. Thank you for being generous sharing some of your skills in creating interesting film using all the elements around. I keep this in mind, entirely handy. Loved it L55
Thank you. I was hesitant on whether or not I should share this. All these tips are already out there on TH-cam so I figured why not.
@@CraigKoppel Good decision, Craig! Always great to see it from your perspective and personal experience. 👍
Great travelling and videography content, my friends! Best wishes for all the success coming your way on your channel~
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. I hope your channel has lots of success too.
Thanks for the tips. I enjoyed the scenery.
Thank you. Hope you have a great weekend and are doing well.
Was an enjoyable and education walk :)
Thank you.
Now when I look at my first videos they were really bad. Since then, I watch others work and learn all the time. Great tips Craig, one can really learn a lot from you. Fantastic shots of amazing Canyonlands 👍❤️
Thank you. That’s how we get better- by watching others and learning from them. That’s how I improved.
I think I've mentioned before that I've noticed you have very slick cinematography Craig. Some good tips here for sure. I always struggle filming birds flying overhead for some reason. Good idea on the zoom out, I may have tp use that on my next outro 😊
Thank you. I learned how to film birds by watching another TH-camr. It works so well. Pick one out, place it in the center and follow only that one. Have a great week.
Great tips! Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you. Hopefully, some people can find something useful here.
Nice video Craig 👍
Thank you.
Great video 👍
Thank you. Have a great weekend.
SUPER !! 🙂
Thank you.
Such a beautiful place! Thanks for the filming tips. I’ll definitely try to implement them.
Thank you. I was hoping some people would use these techniques. They are nothing new and are already out there on TH-cam.
Good tips. I may have learned something. 😁 also, I was definitely thinking some of those clips looked much like the Grand Canyon, before you said that in the video.
Thank you. It did look like the grand canyon just not as deep.
Taking notes! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Thank you my friend!
Thank you. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
@@CraigKoppel Always a pleasure my friend!
sick shots and great tips.
Thank you.
Great video Craig...a few tips there that i shall be trying out...cheers...i think the main thing is having the eye for a certain shot..you surely have that.
Thank you. Everything in here is nothing new. It’s already all over TH-cam. We get better by watching and learning, and then applying it.
Thanks for the tips Craig, feel each video is getting better compared to my 1st ones I did. The cinematic option on the I phone give great shots when you are up close to an object and then go the full back ground 😊
Thank you. That’s good you should definitely see an improvement from when you first started. As we discover more features we can add different effects.
Good tips there Craig 👍 it all made sense 👌
Thank you. Hopefully, some people get some use out of this..
Great tips! 👍👍
Thank you. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for the helpful tips 🤗
Thank you.
This video is really very helpful and great tips for every content creator.I am actually interested in all your shot compositions which tell an interestinh story of your adventures. This is simply outstanding sir Craig and yeah well done as always🎉
Thank you. I figured I’d share what I know. All these tips are already out there on TH-cam. Hope you can use some.
Great video and tips!!
Thank you.
Thanks for this! I need this info.
Thank you. Have a great weekend.
Your more kind then I am. I won't share my trade secrets lol! 😆
Trust me I’ve thought about not sharing a lot. If everyone films like this then we won’t be unique. All this stuff that I have in this video is already out there. I think most people are gonna watch this and not use anything. Me and you are different. We are always trying to seriously get better and be the best that we can be by learning and applying what we’ve been taught.
😂😂 Not true, when I am watching, Graig 😂😂@@CraigKoppel
@@Orientalbackyardgarden thank you. I know you are a true fan.
Interesting. Do you actually zoom when you are filming or in the editor? I have never gotten it to go smoothly while filming so I wonder if there is a trick or just equipment.
Thank you. Zooming in or out in the editing is always so much smoother and more professional looking. At least for me. I’m sure the really expensive Hollywood cameras can do it while filming. I’ve relaxed a little and have done some zooming while filming recently that wasn’t in the editing.
@@CraigKoppel glad to know it's not just me. It would be a nice phone camera feature to have a "smooth zoom" option
@@SavvyExploring I mostly use my phone for filming too. They all have great professional cameras nowadays. Even the king of hiking videos, Kraig Adams, said he mostly uses his phone.
Hey there, Craig! @travelingRonman sent me your way. I got your link from his Little Buffalo meetup video. Man, these are great tips. I'm K. My wife Ro and I started our hiking channel last year with a current focus on slackpacking the Appalachian Trail. I'm snagging a subscription to your channel and will be looking for more inspiration from your catalog. I hope you'll come check us out too.
Thank you. I appreciate the sub. Yes, I have met Ron three times now. He’s a good guy. I also just went over to your channel and watched the roomy mine video. I hiked that with Ron. I also subscribed to you. Have a great weekend.
@@CraigKoppel Ro and I were videoing today and I had your tips in mind.
I should try to make better videos now that I'm getting more popular
You are getting a following.
Absolutely amazing! Beautiful hike and love it! Thanks for the tips! Always full watched and thumbs up from me Craig!
Thank you very much. Hope you’re having a great weekend and enjoying some new fancy cafes.
@@CraigKoppel I can’t wait to visit nice and fancy cafes really! But right now I’m busy moving, packing and unpacking😵💫Super busy week! Have a great weekend ❣️
I hope I will remember your valuable tips when I film, but often my footage is too shaky 😂😂
You don't zoom in so much, Graig?
What a magnificent, grand nature btw, one of the most beautiful spots on earth I would say, in what state was this?
I definitely put it on my list📽️📸🏜️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you. This was in Utah. There are five national parks there and they are all absolutely beautiful. I think I zoom in a lot, but I don’t zoom out often. I forget to do a lot of these when I’m filming. Sometimes I’ll look at my old footage and see a technique that I no longer use and say to myself I really should start using these again.
@@CraigKoppel Utah is on my list, definitely, this is really the most amazing nature, I ve come across. Thanks again for your valuable tips, only thing is I cant remember some of it in the moment of filming 😅👍👍👋
@@Orientalbackyardgarden the five national parks are known as the mighty five. Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce, and Zion.
@@CraigKoppel In what season did you go?
@@Orientalbackyardgarden we were there this past April. Two and a half months ago.
Great video 👍
Thank you.
