Parents bought property in Kanab Utah and often they would go out searching for artifacts and many of the times they did come across artifacts and some of which were really awesome and those of the greatest values went to museums
They actually had offerings for way above what museums would offer and they always went to the museums instead.. no cost unless a great deal of effort was expended on whatever they had found
As a kid I was lucky to have grandparents and parents that had a burning desire for things of the past/ dinosaurs, cowboy era, American history, World history, and my favorite dinosaurs!.. . Many different books in my parents library and all of which were subjected to My grubby knubbies lol And that I did..my paw prints on damn near every page of every book. Only wish I could have actually retained all that I had read.
Great place, been over 50 years since i was out that way exploring..Music loop in background was totally annoying though, might slow down your camera movements and/or get a gimble for better quality & stability, it would be far more watchable
It’s been a long time ago, I explored the Salt Creek Area. As an artist the petroglyphs were hypnotic, I dreamed about them hem for several years. Great video and trip! Thanks for taking us along.
Hey. At 50.56, pause it and look at the wall in the middle of the screen. I'd swear that's brickwork. My Mom said Dad have found a lithified/almost petrified hut near Kanab Utah. It had to be thousands of years to be in that state of aging. Although it was made of branches, mud, and grass, it was hardened and held up all in one piece. I'm seeing a lot of really cool formations and structures. Thank You for taking us along. I saw a replaced or sealed-up door in one of the ruins. This is so awesome.
Peace be with you my brother. Yes definitely do not take anything whatsoever from our ancestral ruins. It's bad juju bad karma. Those sectional ruins were used to dry and store their corn and meat and other goods for the winter seasons and of course the coming years. It's a wonder how they survived out there for so many centuries. You are actually walking on burial grounds too so please please be very careful wherever you go that is really not good at all. People get really sick from entering into those places. If you do start to experience odd things maybe you'll need to see a HOPI medicine man. Just hit me up and I can help you find one here on our reservation.
Greetings such a good video, lots of walking and it was all ruined by the ??? kind of mall music that came with the video. I finally had to mute the music was such a bother.
That's the cabin of the soldier who was assigned to that tribe. They moved in and tried to befriend them and/or kill them. Beautiful place. I see natural erosion, but I see destroyed things too. It's sad these historical sites aren't UNESCO World Heritage Sites, already. The 1600's, the Spanish Conquistadors came, in the 1700's, natural disasters were common, but the 1800's were especially brutal for the Native People. The "Relocation Act of 1863" should have been called "The Extermination Act". There were 75 internment camps across the US, where they kept Native and Japanese Americans who came peacefully. The rest were killed and their homes destroyed.
Really enjoyed viewing this. Thanks for shooting and sharing. Have been in the area myself but not quite where you’re hiking. BUT…..please consider getting rid of the background music. Yikes., so not a contribution to the viewing experience. An insane loop. Awful. How about some native music for a soundtrack? Flute? Drums?
Ha ha, everyone’s a critic…. It’s just outside of Canyonlands and Bears Ears, it’s better done as a through hike, over a couple days. There was a bunch of cool things I missed, planning on doing it again, It’s amazing.
38:38 I’m sure everyone watching has seen hundreds if not thousands of photos of pictographs. Has anyone ever seen on with cartoon eyes and a big toothy smile? Add that it is painted over handprint pictographs and I’m thinking this isn’t ancient….maybe not even Native American.
They have actually dated this by taking a small amount of the paint and did carbon dating testing. I believe it’s over 2500-3000 years old. Google it, all American man pictograph.
I was only able to watch part of this, and with the sound off, due to the horrible "music", boring commentary (unending "so cool"), and the cringe I felt watching you walk all over and handle everything.
Love your video.
Thank you!

Can a Hopi medicine man help rid someone of a curse they have endured forty years?

Lots of history here for sure, many sad and terrible stories how how the natives treated

@@overthehillhiker3338 strong agree.... and thanks for the efforts!
Informative, but cool is a measure of temperature not an adjective. Where is that trailhead?
Cathedral Butte off of the Bridger Jack Mesa Road The same road takes you to Beef Basin

At 9:44, there are three handprints. The one on the right has 5 fingers and a thumb!
So cool, thanks for pointing that out
16:17 why would a granary need a window?
Access to the content inside
Its a removable stone door, sealed shut in between use. Granaries do not have windows.
Where was the corn grown. Any evidence of a garden. The corn was grown with squash and beans
Beautiful flat valleys between the sandstone walls, salt creek runs right through it.
Camera pans too quickly!
Appreciate your feedback

Please stop panning back and forth and back and forth, stay focused on something long enough so we can understand the picture.

Love to see ruins, but the music was extremely annoying. Sound of nature and just you talking would suffice.
Great feedback
you need to work on your sound.
Appreciate your feedback
Elevator music sucks.rest good.
Good feedback
why are you playing this music? It is irritating

@@overthehillhiker3338 I had to turn off your voice because of the music, and hope that closed captioning would interpret your words.
@@overthehillhiker3338 you don't need music playing when you are speaking. Especially this irritating stuff.
I subscribed to your channel, but your repetitive music is killing me.

Poor video quality makes this unbearable
