My dad was actually shopping at a Costco and while he was picking out some canned tuna fish for us to eat, a lady asked him to make sure it said dolphin friendly because dolphins can get caught in the tuna nets, my dad, however, was already a bit agitated after his day at work so he replied to her “if dolphins keep getting caught in tuna nets then they aren’t as smart as we thought, huh?”
I don't get why humans even care about dolphins and whales. They are pretty cruel to their prey. We are a lot nicer than them when it comes to being kind to animals we eat

The point is that we rather respect the victims of that choice. What I mean is that, if you see an animal as someone, and not Just a thing you might consider their wills and for us the choice to eat anything you want is quite different to the choice to eat someone whose lifes and wellbeing belongs to themselfs. So...ya as a vegan the fact that people eat animals like they are nothing bothers me, I would never go like " oh go on, slaughter that sencient creature, it is completly ok". But yet, I don't bring it up too often, because I know people don't care and won't change if they are not open to it.
I'm not a vegan, doubt i'll ever be one, but its always a little upsetting to see all the awful vegans being given the highest publicity. I'm sure it makes being a normal vegan much more difficult when people assume you're some kind of argumentative and potentially violent person because of it.
My boyfriend is vegan and the first couple of months of us dating I didn’t like the taste of most of the food. But we’re together for 4 years now and I’m used to it now even though I’m not vegan. I tried being vegan for like a Lil over a week n I NEVER felt weaker in my life. I was so tired n drained, barely even able to stay awake n function. Everyone CANT b vegan, no matter their morals or how hard they try. I even seen a vegan woman cry cuz she HAD to start eating meat as recommended by her doctor. Her body couldn't physically support the vegan diet n it was harming her. This is y vegans shouldn't bash people for not being vegan. Some people can't do the diet without harming themselves.
It’s because plants have no calories and even sitting burns 60 an hour. If you eat a few vegetables 3 times a day you used all the calories in 3-5 hours.
Calories are the energy you have if you used all the calories you took then you will suck when you will feel weak. The calories won’t turn into fat but like you said you feel drained and weak.

You know some vegans annoyed me and my friends by showing us a sign with a bloody pig on it and calling us “murderers”, so what we did was print out a piece of paper and attach it to a stick we picked up and it was a picture of deforestation so we called them “habitat killers”. They immediately stoped bothering us afterwards.
There are types of vegans. Type 1: The calm and understanding that don't force other people to be vegan or become toxic if someone have an opinion. Type 2 : The toxic, narcissistic, self-centered vegans cant understand that other people can choose to be vegan or have different reasons to be vegan and choose not to be one and if you disagree, have an opinion or have reasonable logic, they will attack you in any way so they can be "right" not only that some toxic vegans will try to influence young children to think that being toxic is a good thing. It's sad because of the toxic vegans most people think that all vegans are toxic but that's not true at all, some vegans don't really care if you are vegan or not.

I used to be vegan for 5 years but it all changed when I left the city and moved to the country side & am surrounded by farms and I can actually see how the animals are being treated and guys…..it’s not like PETA portrait it! Farmers here care so much about their cows, they give them the best of the best treatment! I’m vegetarian & definitely distanced myself from these people.
Yes! Farms have everything to gain by treating their animals well and everything to lose when they don't. That's not to say that every meat factory is perfect or ethical but most invest in their animals quality of life.

If someone is my friend and a vegan and they are respectful and don’t push it on me then I would go out of my way to not eat meat when they are around. However if they push it on me then I will gladly eat steak in front of them

Our family tried going vegetarian before and we had beyond meat, which sucks, it doesn’t taste good. And we tried making pasta out of zucchini which ended up a watery mess most of the time. We didn’t last a year

Are there ways for both big companies and individuals to reduce the amount of impact they have on the environment, yes. It’s just a matter of how much commitment they have for it.

My friend worked in restaurant that tried to do vegan options for their menu. The restaurant quit carrying soon after because the ingredients were so expensive and the “vegan” customers were the most disrespectful ones to come. It makes me sad that that’s a reputation 😞

I’ve tried vegan cheese thanks to a friend. It actually tasted good! She doesn’t force it on me, and I didn’t fight it. But then you have people like this, making it so people don’t even want to try it. Very sad. (Not a vegan btw)
I eat most meat but there’s stuff that I only eat sometimes. One of those things is beef (and that was only because of that Mad Cow Disease epidemic that happened a few years ago). Also, humans are omnivores, so it’s important to eat both meat AND veggies.

Admittedly, while I'm not a vegan myself, I feel that Piers shut down any legitimate chance for an open discussion at the very beginning, doing nothing but insulting the protestor. The only person the protestor was being truly negative toward, was with Piers who again, was actively calling him various insults. He was seemingly having an open dialogue with the chef though, and explaining his reasoning calmly. Also, pretty sure the tongue thing and the flip of the hair, were nervous tics, a form of self-soothing.
Honestly, no, I think it's an L for both of them. They were both extremely annoying and it was painful to watch all of that, more painful than it would be for that guy to eat a single vegan food. The thing is most local/hometown ag farmers do care for and love their livestock. They take care of them and dispatch the animals in a humane way. To be fair I live in a state that does take pride in their livestock and I know some big companies pay for cheap easy meat but to say that all of the farmers are like that is unfair.
Most of the moral problems vegans have with eating animals is factory farming, and they’re forgetting that there’s places where the majority of the country is cows being free little meat guys
Believe it or not, the _majority_ of our (US) meat comes from farmers who take care of their animals (can’t have good meat without a happy animal). I don’t really understand why people _still_ believe that most meat comes from these enclosed factory spaces in modern times. They probably exist but definitely not the majority by a long shot.

No, and taste buds are partially to blame, everyone tastes things different, so you can taste a few ingredients in the item differently, making it taste differently, someone somewhere might be able to find a vegan burger type that tastes *exactly* like a meat product, but taste buds change, so that won't stay, not to mention, yes, the amount of artificial trash in those vegan burgers is horrid, and being vegan is *not* healthier than a normal diet usually, although in a good amount of cases, being vegetarian is, as they tend to still eat fish and eggs especially, you really need all kinds of things in your food to stay healthy, and what do you think vegans are missing? *Protein.* Vegetarians eat eggs and fish usually, so they are in the safe zone though. If you really are against animal cruelty, you have an advantage in southern areas, get your own animals, cows, pigs, and chickens, have the chickens for eggs, and extra roosters for food, and the cows for milk and meat. If you don't live in these areas, you can live life without eating from poorly treated animals, although it will also cost more money, getting fresh produce, fresh produce may be more expensive, but you will be WAY more healthy than a lot of people from it, and also getting all the food you need. I'm no scientist or doctor, I just research this stuff because I find it interesting, so take my info with a whole handful of salt. Also some plants do have protein, but you need to be careful to pick a very good balanced plant diet, it's healthier albeit more expensive to just get fresh produce.

I was raised with a eat meat sparingly type diet. I know only 4 vegetarians (they still do milk and everything) but all of them are iron deficit and get tired very quick. They worry me. However as a culinary student I adore vegan restaurants. They're amazingly creative

Science supports Vegetarians as far as healthy goes but not Vegan. Veganism is a moral thing. Vegetarian is a dietary thing. This shouldn't be news at this point. Vegans may choose to claim their choice is healthier just like red meat lovers may say the same. What is "healthiest" technically varies person to person but to be clear......Veganism became a thing from a moral standpoint and environmental standpoint not a personal health one.

Meat eating and Vegetarian is good. But it’s hard to get all the things you need as a vegan. They have to take some kind of pills to get the things that are in meat, egg, cheese usw. EDIT: Sorry for not knowing what it’s called in English cause I am German I think it’s called nutritions
yeah B12 supplements are recommended for vegans like myself, but it's important to remember that the animals you are eating are being supplemented with it themselves, so effectively there is no difference. If you plan your diet well as a vegan, you can be perfectly healthy :)

Once, there was a vegan protest as my friend and I visited Chinatown in Montreal, well. We were going back to our home, one of them stopped me and lectured me how cruel it is to eat or kill an animal. I lectured them back how important it is to hunt because of how my ancestors lived to hunt and such and he still recommended to go vegan, as my friend and I started to walk away from them, I whispered. “I’m still gonna eat meat”. My friend almost burst out laughing because he didn’t expect it from me
People that go this far always shout "Animal rights are human rights!" and I'm just over here like "So does that mean you'll be harassing animals for eating meat too?" *Edit:* I should make a note here that the comment is supposed to be a half-joke about the ones that harass people at restaurants (and also partially at the ones that go into forcing their pets to go on a vegan diet). No I wouldn't hold a lion for example as culpable for their actions, because they are not moral agents (meaning they can't make moral decisions). They are also obligate carnivores so they would die if they didn't kill another animal, whereas humans have a choice to not kill to survive. Nevertheless, I still wouldn't arrest anybody for eating meat, even a human, because at the end of the day it's their decision, I just don't think it would be a moral act given the fact it's unnecessary. Hope I cleared that up :)

My friend is vegan and sometimes on scouting we cook completely vegan because its easier but we also eat a lot of meat and just buy vegan food with it so everyone is happy. She has never even talked about anyone of us being vegan because she doesnt care what we eat, only what she eats her self

I accidentally ate vegan for about a month. It’s literally a availability taste and price thing. Unless you have one of those eating craving disorders just go off your best means and cravings for basic things like protein fiber salts and minerals. Tofu properly made is actually really nice, made vegan mapo tofu (forgot too buy the meat) and I loved it.
In my opinion, if you're going to eat meat then eat meat, if you're going to eat vegetables then eat vegetables. Don't go making meat out of plants that defeats the whole point of eating vegetables, but most importantly, dont go trying to force others to do something they dont want to do. It ain't right, while Im no vegan, I got a few vegan friends they can make some good food even if its limited to vegetables and fruits, but I rather enjoy my balanced meals.

I would like to say, having a vegan diet is actually very bad for your protein intake because plant base protein is low quality and isn’t complete so 20g of plant protein would be like 10g. Animal protein is high quality protein and is very good in amino acids so 20g of animal protein is WAY MORE then 20g of plant protein

Sooo, I have been a vegetarian for 10 and a vegan for one year now.(I’m 19 btw) My Dad went Vegetarian with me 10 years ago and his health has drastically changed for the better. (Not saying that this will be the case for everyone, especially because lots of people who are just starting often aren’t informed enough on the topic and therefore tend to not know how to be vegan and at the same time get all the important nutrients and stuff out of plant based diet. You really gotta keep learning and dive deep into that topic. Which in my opinion too little people [no matter what diet they follow] actually do. I think that should change because it’s literally the most essential thing for our existence and well being.) Now back to my Dad. The things that changed are 1: I’m not even kidding all his allergies literally disappeared or at least got better. He was allergic to different weeds and trees and fur 2: He felt a lot less tired for most of the time 3: his atopic dermatitis never showed up again 4: His amount of Migraines went down drastically 5: He barely ever gets sick like I haven’t seen him have any kind of cold or flu anything like this since then Now to me: As a child a suffered from tummy aches nearly every day for back then seemingly no reason and since I changed diet they just never showed up again.
you can get some proteins and iron from plants, but it's just not efficient enough. in terms of calories and nutrients, meat is denser, meaning you get more energy from a portion of meat than from a portion of vegetables of the same weight

My boyfriend is vegan and the first couple of months of us dating I didn’t like the taste of most of the food. But we’re together for 4 years now and I’m used to it now even though I’m not vegan. My bf will sometimes cook my food (not vegan food) and he doesn’t mind at all. The impossible burger is actually really good tbh.

I tried being vegan for like a Lil over a week n I NEVER felt weaker in my life. I was so tired n drained, barely even able to stay awake n function. Everyone CANT b vegan, no matter their morals or how hard they try. I even seen a vegan woman cry cuz she HAD to start eating meat as recommended by her doctor. Her body couldn't physically support the vegan diet n it was harming her. This is y vegans shouldn't bash people for not being vegan. Some people can't do the diet without harming themselves.
It’s because plants have no calories and even sitting burns 60 an hour. If you eat a few vegetables 3 times a day you used all the calories in 3-5 hours.
Calories are the energy you have if you used all the calories you took then you will suck when you will feel weak. The calories won’t turn into fat but like you said you feel drained and weak.
I felt weak bloated gassy. And the gas was not regular it was insanely bad. Being vegan is not it

My friend worked in restaurant that tried to do vegan options for their menu. The restaurant quit carrying soon after because the ingredients were so expensive and the “vegan” customers were the most disrespectful ones to come.

Admittedly, while I'm not a vegan myself, I feel that Piers shut down any legitimate chance for an open discussion at the very beginning, doing nothing but insulting the protestor. The only person the protestor was being truly negative toward, was with Piers who again, was actively calling him various insults. The thing is most local/hometown ag farmers do care for and love their livestock. They take care of them and dispatch the animals in a humane way. To be fair I live in a state that does take pride in their livestock and I know some big companies pay for cheap easy meat but to say that all of the farmers are like that is unfair.

No, and taste buds are partially to blame, everyone tastes things different, so you can taste a few ingredients in the item differently, making it taste differently, someone somewhere might be able to find a vegan burger type that tastes *exactly* like a meat product, but taste buds change, so that won't stay, not to mention, yes, the amount of artificial trash in those vegan burgers is horrid, and being vegan is *not* healthier than a normal diet usually, although in a good amount of cases, being vegetarian is, as they tend to still eat fish and eggs especially, you really need all kinds of things in your food to stay healthy, and what do you think vegans are missing? *Protein.* Vegetarians eat eggs and fish usually, so they are in the safe zone though.
If you really are against animal cruelty, you have an advantage in southern areas, get your own animals, cows, pigs, and chickens, have the chickens for eggs, and extra roosters for food, and the cows for milk and meat. If you don't live in these areas, you can live life without eating from poorly treated animals, although it will also cost more money, getting fresh produce, fresh produce may be more expensive, but you will be WAY more healthy than a lot of people from it, and also getting all the food you need.
I'm no scientist or doctor, I just research this stuff because I find it interesting, so take my info with a whole handful of salt.
Also some plants do have protein, but you need to be careful to pick a very good balanced plant diet, it's healthier albeit more expensive to just get fresh produce.

I was raised with a eat meat sparingly type diet. I know only 4 vegetarians (they still do milk and everything) but all of them are iron deficit and get tired very quick. They worry me. However as a culinary student I adore vegan restaurants. They're amazingly creative

Vegans may choose to claim their choice is healthier just like red meat lovers may say the same. yeah B12 supplements are recommended for vegans like myself, but it's important to remember that the animals you are eating are being supplemented with it themselves, so effectively there is no difference. If you plan your diet well as a vegan, you can be perfectly healthy :)

Once, there was a vegan protest as my friend and I visited Chinatown in Montreal, well. We were going back to our home, one of them stopped me and lectured me how cruel it is to eat or kill an animal. I lectured them back how important it is to hunt because of how my ancestors lived to hunt and such and he still recommended to go vegan, as my friend and I started to walk away from them, I whispered. “I’m still gonna eat meat”. My friend almost burst out laughing because he didn’t expect it from me

*Edit:* I should make a note here that the comment is supposed to be a half-joke about the ones that harass people at restaurants (and also partially at the ones that go into forcing their pets to go on a vegan diet). I know that by "Animal Rights = Human Rights" they mean fighting against killing animals but it's fun to poke the bear regarding the statement if they're harassing people.
I think they mean it's an extension of the rights we give to humans that say that they deserve to not have their life taken from them

@@blakblu Don't worry about being rude, it's an important discussion. No I wouldn't hold a lion for example as culpable for their actions, because they are not moral agents (meaning they can't make moral decisions). They are also obligate carnivores so they would die if they didn't kill another animal, whereas humans have a choice to not kill to survive. Nevertheless, I still wouldn't arrest anybody for eating meat, even a human, because at the end of the day it's their decision, I just don't think it would be a moral act given the fact it's unnecessary. Hope I cleared that up :)

My friend is vegan and sometimes on scouting we cook completely vegan because its easier but we also eat a lot of meat and just buy vegan food with it so everyone is happy. She has never even talked about anyone of us being vegan because she doesnt care what we eat, only what she eats her self

I never understood people that think it's rational to say "Man, it's so wrong that they tortured animals for this food, let me ruin it all so that the animals that suffered for it did so in vain!"
frustration makes people irrational. they feel powerless about injustices and just want to take it out on the industry however they can. it's like this with every movement.
I accidentally ate vegan for about a month. It’s literally a availability taste and price thing. Unless you have one of those eating craving disorders just go off your best means and cravings for basic things like protein fiber salts and minerals. Tofu properly made is actually really nice, made vegan mapo tofu (forgot too buy the meat) and I loved it.

In my opinion, if you're going to eat meat then eat meat, if you're going to eat vegetables then eat vegetables. Don't go making meat out of plants that defeats the whole point of eating vegetables, but most importantly, dont go trying to force others to do something they dont want to do. It ain't right, while Im no vegan, I got a few vegan friends they can make some good food even if its limited to vegetables and fruits, but I rather enjoy my balanced meals.

Every vegan/vegetarian I know never brings up their diet, or tries to force it on you. It's a very small minority, mostly on the internet.
Definitely a minority, but not THAT small of a minority either. And it's mostly the vegans, i've almost never seen a vegetarian complain about meat eating, both irl and on the internet.

I would like to say, having a vegan diet is actually very bad for your protein intake because plant base protein is low quality and isn’t complete so 20g of plant protein would be like 10g. Animal protein is high quality protein and is very good in amino acids so 20g of animal protein is WAY MORE then 20g of plant protein

In a way, veganism is life Christianity because most people think we try to force it on people but that's only some people. if your a true one, you will show it to people and let them decide on their own!
Sooo, I have been a vegetarian for 10 and a vegan for one year now.(I’m 19 btw) My Dad went Vegetarian with me 10 years ago and his health has drastically changed for the better. (Not saying that this will be the case for everyone, especially because lots of people who are just starting often aren’t informed enough on the topic and therefore tend to not know how to be vegan and at the same time get all the important nutrients and stuff out of plant based diet. You really gotta keep learning and dive deep into that topic. Which in my opinion too little people [no matter what diet they follow] actually do. I think that should change because it’s literally the most essential thing for our existence and well being.)
Now back to my Dad. The things that changed are 1: I’m not even kidding all his allergies literally disappeared or at least got better. He was allergic to different weeds and trees and fur
2: He felt a lot less tired for most of the time
3: his atopic dermatitis never showed up again
4: His amount of Migraines went down drastically
5: He barely ever gets sick like I haven’t seen him have any kind of cold or flu anything like this since then
Now to me:
As a child a suffered from tummy aches nearly every day for back then seemingly no reason and since I changed diet they just never showed up again.
Vegan diet is balanced? where do they get iron?
Well lentils with rice have as much iron as person needs
you can get some proteins and iron from plants, but it's just not efficient enough. in terms of calories and nutrients, meat is denser, meaning you get more energy from a portion of meat than from a portion of vegetables of the same weight
I’ve heard spinach has some. It’s not enough to cure the iron deficiency I’ve had for 3 years tho. You’d be better with steak.
