- Transsion Holdings. Not many people know the name, but millions of Africans can identify with their two main brands. Tecno Mobile and Infinix Mobile. Two of the biggest smart-phone brands by sale in Africa. They’ve also got a third mobile phone brand iTel, a digital accessory brand called Oraimo and an appliances brand called Syinix. They also have an after-sales service brand called Carl Care. Transsion is huge in Africa and they have essentially dominated the smart-phone market here, but how did they do it?
This video showcases how Transsion Dominated the African Mobile Phone Industry. From Tecno to Infinix to Oraimo, Transsion is set to maintain dominance in Africa with their product offerings. They've been at the top for over 6 years now but can they remain there?

I'm a Tecno user but with their recent style of using old components and slower processors is making me slide towards the Anti Transsion group. Infinix seem to be the only evolving one among the two. At least in the new Note 7 they used G70, 18W fast charging and tried Snapdragon processor in Hot S3X , Tecno seems stuck with their USB 2.0, P22 and P35 trash. By the fourth quarter of the year, I'm planning on moving to Xiaomi with the new Note 9s, currency instability and covid-19 just Making it difficult.

Thanks for this enlightenment boss. Tecno made very good phones back then at an affordable price- Speaking of the days of P series , Phantom series before 2018.... But the problem now is they seem to have stop paying attention to what people really want. Like these days they just make phones and put a price tag when you'd actually get better value for your spending from other brands... For example, the Helio P22 & A22 chips werr really prostituted with by Tecno n Infinix... They failed with Infinix Zero 6. Put in a low budget Snapdragon (636) and expected people to buy it at a entry level flagship price in that time. (That phone was about 120k).... Gone are the days when Nigerians weren't really tech savvy and all that... But times are changing, people are paying more attention to what their phones can do and for bragging rights. I remember buying a Xiaomi phone (Mi 2 or so) for my sister in 2016, I bought about 30k... And that phones has wey more features than the biggest Tecno et Infinix phones at that time within that price range...in short... I don't think any Tecno phone or Infinix had 4G bandwidth and even if one did, it wasnt LTE which this phone had.. when i lost my phone and by sis got another, I actually used this phone again in 2018 and it still outshined some Tecno n Infinix phones released in that year... That was the phone I actually started juxebox with and it was the same phone I was using till August 2019... Look at the time frame...since 2016.....
Fisayo mentioned in their video about why Tecno & Infinix always use MediaTek chipset-because they have a partnership deal... Yea! Nobody is mad about MediaTek chipset but is it only P22 they have? MediaTek makes very good chips as well so why not go for better ones rather than recycling the same old thing over j over again and expecting people to stay calm. Infinix actually does better job than Tecno in my opinion... The Note series was great. Infinix Note Stylus with the Android one feature was dope... Infinix Zero (the first model was a hit)... But they flopped with the Zero 6...
If we even now come to the software aspect.... Lord!!!! The blootware ain't even a major problem....

From an economic pov- this attitude was because of the amount of power they had in this market... They were somewhat a monopoly....they barely had any competition.....

And now that the likes of Vivo Oppo Xaomi Nokia are now gaining grounds in the market... There's serious competition and now they're being forced to cut prices down and try to give worthy phones for their prices ..we see that in the new Camon series, they're cheaper than the last models ... But still they're not really listening to customers...They're rsther spending more on marketing rather than improving their devices and giving users a good Xperience. But how long will they do that for? Will people come back to buy again after a bad experience and letting down their trust? The Nigerian market isn't too different from the Indian market... They should goan see how Oppo failed in India depsite high level of sponsorship deals with celebs and marketing which they had to create Realme as a test - succeeded and became a brand fastest growing in the world....

Transsion shouldn't see the Nigerian Market as the same way itwas when they first gained grounds years ago... The market has evolved. A lot has changed...consumers have evolved and are more enlightened.... So should they gear their products towards that... It is not just about 5000mAh and "triple AI-camera"...give customers what they want and not what they need. (They're even failing at both)
Hmmmm...I don't think they Will be on the thrown for that long...since better players like Xiaomi and the rest are bringing better specs to the table for about the same asking prices like tecno and infinix.....I have been a fan of Tecno and infinix phones for years now but in this recent times most of their phones have little incremental change plus the asking prices is getting so high for what they are giving us...for instance checkout the spark 4 and the recent spark 5 the incremental change is so little...right now people tend to do more and push their phones to the max, play more graphic intensive games and so....I just feel Tecno and infinix still have stock of old, outdated and crappy components and always update the design and feel of their phones to reach recent standards.

That's why I hate these transion group they seem to have made it thus ingnoring their users complaints and that's a bigger problem take Nokia 4 example..
I have used tecno in the past and I still do use the camon type. These trwnsion phones crash or freeze if tasked. How does transion solve this problem.

They used to offer value for money but recently I can't really say ... Poor camera sensors that depreciate with time, bad UI,no updates at all, outdated components and still slam a heavy price on top of it.. what's the use of signing up ambassadors for millions of dollars when you already have the market!???
