'Wheel House' is literally the news channel of the car world/community where the host Nolan 'BeKind' Sykes tells us about the current affairs of the car world.
Just bought a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Country off BAT and could not be happier with the experience. Having enthusiast comment during the auction was a huge help that allowed me to find out things about the car I would not have known to look for. This helped make me feel at ease. It’s the community that makes these auctions work. Tons of pictures is a plus and the videos make it easier to get a feel for condition. Having a seller that responded quickly to user questions was huge as well. As an added bonus we picked the car up and drove it cross country and made a vacation out of it.
I've sold on Bring A Trailer. I have nothing but good things to say about the experience. I'd previously tried to sell the car on Autotrader, and got nothing but lowballers who thought pricing should be something they got from a Blue Book type valuation site. Mine was sensibly, but very modded. No comparison to an average car of it's type, and only 50k on the odo of a 16 year old car of which I was the original owner. The best part is that BaT doesn't fleece the seller. If you have something special, and BaT will only list interesting cars, then I'd recommend it. My tip is to keep a close eye on your listing, and answer all questions quickly and honestly.
Went to an auction at a retired junk yard 20 years ago. I got a 74 Delta 98 for $25. It was the opening bid, and no one else bid. I won 2 demolition derbys with it and got a total of $100 purse. I got what I paid for...
Dude, the $250k M3 was money laundering. Any crazy auction whether it's a car, collectible card or a video game that sells for a crazy amount is using the new way to launder money.
Having sold cars on both BaT and C&B, I gotta say it’s the best way to sell an enthusiast car. Do your research first because some platforms are better for some cars than others.
Bought the 18th car listed on Cars & Bids - 2006 Saab 9-2x Aero Manual. Sight unseen. Rented a uhaul trailer, drove from CT up to MA, went on a quick test drive, paid the man, loaded it on the trailer and brought it home. Car has been fantastic. 10/10 would do again.

Having purchased via Bring A Trailer, it was a solid experience and the most straight forward car purchase ever. I won the auction, we were instantly put in contact via BaT, met up, I gave him cash, done deal. EDIT: It is a project car but perfectly drivable and made the 4 hour drive home. Shout out to the VW community as a newcomer. Apparently just driving an old VW gives you a pass to the Cool Club.
I bought a salvage title FR-S from Copart. The buying process was pretty straight forward and the car came looking pretty much like it did in the auction and inspection photos. When I took the rear bumper off to work on it I saw that the rear crash bar was dented pretty bad (probably from the car getting rear ended) so I had to replace it. I bought a VIN report before buying the car and there were no accident records other than the accident that totaled it so they must have kept it off the insurance, but that's something that could happen with any used car. If you buy a used car definitely make sure all the safety stuff is in check.

Have never commented on a video but wanted to give some praise to Cars and Bids. I bought my 1992 Subaru SVX from a seller in Utah last year (I live in CA) and it was one of the best private party transactions that I have ever had. Plus I ended up getting my now favorite car I have ever owned throughout the years out of over 40.
The part about cars rising in value after prices not changing for a while is exactly what's happening to 90s JDM cars right now. Especially Miatas and 240s.
I bought a 1984 Subaru gl wagon at an in-person auction a few months ago, bought it as a “locked car with no keys” but the hatch was unlocked and nobody else realized it. It also had 6 big old rusty pistons in a milk crate in the back (I guess nobody realized it was a 4 cylinder and the pistons weren’t that big). Won the car for $250, towed it home, found the key in the ashtray, and got it to start on starter fluid. The car hasn’t been registered since 2007 but somehow still cranked up. Just bought a fuel pump and I’m cleaning the carb soon, after that we can see if she runs on her own. If it will then I’m getting new tires since the old ones are literally ripping apart from being so old. One of the best parts is that I have paperwork from the auction to get a new title, so if everything goes right then I’ll have a running and driving 1984 Subaru wagon with a clean title for only $250 plus the cost of new tires, the fuel pump, and title costs. On a side note the car also had an original ww2 willys jeep radiator, an extension cord, and some light fixtures in the back so selling those might help recoup a little money. Overall I’d say I got super lucky and I’m very appreciative.
The humor of this site is so much better than a couple of years ago, especially the gags. It's like you have a team of professional comedy writers now. Kudos to whoever writes this stuff, its getting better every episode.
In 2003 I bought a 1988 VW Jetta GLi 16v for $650 on eBay. I was in Louisville, KY the car was in Philly. We drove 11 hours to get a car I bought sight unseen and drove it back 700 miles. It was a blast, loved doing it. I don't if I was naïve, lucky or things were different back then. Not sure if I would trust the same thing today. Car had 200,000 miles on it, I drove it for 3 years, put about $800 of work into it and sold it for $1500.
We just sold our 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio on Cars & Bids. I think we were hoping for a bit more but it was great to see people asking questions and interacting with one another about the car in the comments.
I purchased a 9-year-old minivan on eBay 8 years ago to avoid Minnesota rust and my wife is driving it still to this day. Buying any used car is a gamble. The buyer should always be aware. But having the ability to search the complete country, vs just your local area I believe is worth the risk.
Yo Nolan, good timing for this video. I just won an AE86 in MINT condition off of Bring a Trailer for 40K. A little much, but to be fair it did still have the original cassette player from the factory! I couldn't be happier, been hunting one of those for ages.
Bought my first car a 1991 Z28 camaro on eBay . Guy said it had problems starting and starter needed to be shimmed also had electrical problems. (Never trust a guy who has chrome devil horns on his hat)Turns out the guy had the completely wrong battery in the car, put the right one in it and it worked fine... until about 2 weeks later the transmission went out. We swapped the transmission and it worked fine.... for a while (next time it was my fault) after owning it for a year me and my dad found an old 350 engine block from a suburban and did the ol 383 stroker process. After doing that about 3 months later the other transmission went out. Since then the car has been great! Still have it going on 10 years now.
Sold a 2011 BMW 550i on Cars and Bids - great experience. They even gave me the $1000 bonus for being an earlier adopter! And sold a 1971 Datsun 240z on BaT to a guy in the Netherlands - cash was transferred the next day and car was on a truck in a few weeks. Both experiences have been pretty great.
Recently won a high end car on Bring A Trailer through an private dealer in Charston S. Carolina. The seller unlike playing nice on all of his demo youtube video was/is a complete AH. Zero customer service, never wanted to address things via phone call but only via delayed emails. Full of stories all the time worst always gave undeliverable promises. BAT is no longer vetting its sellers with high standard anymore. All they care is their 5% commission and leave chaos to the market place. Buyers be ware! I will necer use BaT ever again!
What I find ironic about speculation is that the same people who think it kills the car hobby and that prices are too high and the same reselling their civics for a gt86 for more money that they paid for them. Its the combonation of speculation and passion what keeps old beaten m3 running like new, some buy them and take care to enjoy them and others buy them and pay a professional to repair it and store it for a profit, it is never bad because the ultimate buyer is the one who truly wants it and was willing to pay the full price. Id love to but the cap and have it constantly wispering the song in my ears
When buying an older car, you are buying the seller as much as the car. If the seller goes quiet or non-responsive or evasive on BaT, the bids dry up really fast, even if it appears to be a decent car. People are willing to bid more on BaT or C&B because they can be sure they are getting a seller that cares more than something found on Craigslist.
I used to buy cars at the local police impound auction in the early 2000's. It was great. But all the impound auctions around here disappeared over a decade ago. Must have been a change in the laws or something.
Great video. But I have to say, Donut makes THE BEST sponsor spots. It's the only channel that makes me actually watch them and not only that but enjoy them just as much as the rest of the video.
Last summer I sold my 1993 CBR900RR on eBay. It was a pretty special bike w/the red/white/blue livery, very few modifications (all easily reversible), all the original bodywork (including the uncut license plate flap), & overall in pretty good condition. I would have been lucky to find a local buyer (limited audience and riding season), even with a low price (say $3,000). B/c ebay has such a large audience, the bike was seen (and bid on) by multiple people who would never have known about it otherwise. It sold for more than twice the price that I had hoped. And ya, I do realize that ebay is different than the sort of sites referenced in this video, but I think the experience was a good example of what you were talking about. Cheers.
13:45 would be dope to see something on D List or even its own show to see you guys pick what cars will be expensive collectors or Craigslist specials you can call it “Cashcow or dime a dozen” or “collector or craigslist”
I bought a 2001 Audi A4 Avant Quattro at a police auction about 4 years ago for $350. Put a battery on it and took the rear brakes apart to free them and clean them up. All i've had to since is regular maintenance. It's been a great work car and for the price, I think after 30k miles added on, I think I got my moneys worth. It's not much to look at, but gets from a to b reliably.
Dude I absolutely love everything this channel does. Donut just makes the stuff I didn't even know I needed in my life lol, and they do it over and over again. What a way to raise the bar sky high for automotive content. They must have some amazing people working with this.
My past 3 cars have been auction cars, 2006 caravan, 2003 sunfire and a 2008 chrysler aspen They've all been insane value for money and they've all been really reliable. It's all about choosing the right auction house that let's you inspect the cars (unless it's in impound which happens alot where I live)
I got my 996 turbo from BaT. I was the high bidder on RNM but they put me in touch with the seller and we worked out a deal. I'm pretty likely to buy from one of these sites again. I also enjoy the eye candy on there and seeing cool cars that I may have not been aware of. I like the price trends as well, and while these are generally the higher end of the market at least the data is published. You never know what things actually sell for on craigslist or fb since the final prices aren't listed.
My dad had a 71 Barracuda (not the hemi). He had to sell it when I was born because you cannot fit 2 carseats in the back seat. I learned about the car when I was in college in the 90s. I remember watching Barrett-Jackson with my dad and seeing a car with his specs go for 6 figures. He was heartbroken that he was not able to mothball it back in the mid 70s.
The BAT topic was fine but the two ads in this video were AMAZING... Jurassic Park and The camohat song were epic. Best ads I’ve seen since the 2015 Super Bowl.
I usually skip through ads. But with you guys I always watch all the way through the ad because they are prefect and fun to watch. Amazing job advertising giveaways and just other products that are useful.
I worked at an Insurance Auto Auction. That's how I learned to ride and want a motorcycle, where i learned to drive stick, and drive some pretty cool cars and bikes. Always wanted to go check It out as a buyer
Paying for placement is the biggest problem. You'll find that sites start off with individuals selling cars and it always ends with dealers raiding a platform and posting 7 k OBO only 255,000 miles clean title. And when you get there it's got 30 codes that were cleared and the only thing that works is that the engine turns over and it goes in a straight line.
13:03 I swear, I could hear and read this in Puerto Rican Spanish. Seen too many Facebook posts with the lowballer warning on 90' Corollas and other desirable cars. "No peseteros ni soñadores. Solo los conocedores saben lo que tengo."
I've gotten several cars at Princeton auto auction. In Princeton West Virginia. Was good got an Accord super cheap had a vacuum leak induced miss. Saw it before sale, temporarily fixed by plugging loose line in, then let it back apart to roll threw. Also got a Nissan Pulsar with pop up n down headlights just had to replace steering rack... nevermind my first car was a Pralude from junkyard that got different generation accord engine swap...
Jurassic parks t-rex: Don't move, she can't see you if you don't move. Dodge TRX: Don't worry about moving cus imma leave ur ass behind because I got moh powah babeh.
I bought a Beck 550 across the country off ebay. Then I flew out and drove it 2600 miles back. Awsome deal and trip. Bought many cars and motorcycles off ebay

Their ads are getting better and better. You can make a movie with them all.
The humor of this site is so much better than a couple of years ago, especially the gags. It's like you have a team of professional comedy writers now. Kudos to whoever writes this stuff, its getting better every episode.
Donut coming out with those bangers lately. might be time to make a music label.
Using the word media in their company name was a great move because they do it all.

Because of
I purchased a 9-year-old minivan on eBay 8 years ago to avoid Minnesota rust and my wife is driving it still to this day. Buying any used car is a gamble. The buyer should always be aware. But having the ability to search the complete country, vs just your local area I believe is worth the risk.
I can't hear "no lowballers, I know what I got" without hearing Mr. Regular doing The Voice
Noh loahblawllerrrs I knoah whut I gOt
Yo Nolan, good timing for this video. I just won an AE86 in MINT condition off of Bring a Trailer for 40K. A little much, but to be fair it did still have the original cassette player from the factory! I couldn't be happier, been hunting one of those for ages.
Donut is the only channel where I will watch the ads, they are little movies
2:17 Dodge is going to release a new Hell-ecopter confirmed ✅
7,007hp to the blades and 0 to 5,000 meters elevation in just under 9 seconds
That Camo Hat song/commercial at the end was hilarious!
All 3 of the cars in the last 10 years have been from FB marketplace. 💯% positive!

For repeating “D a d d y D o u g” as many times as you like 💖🍩
Recently won a high end car on Bring A Trailer through an private dealer in Charston S.
You guys make way better quality commercials than actual commercial directors. I bet the production cost is also way way less. Keep it up!
Hell yea, a new Donut video! Keep going Nolan!
I sold my antique truck on an auction site called Clasiq. Totally legit and they were excellent to work with. 100% recommend them
I used to buy cars at the local police impound auction in the early 2000's. It was great. But all the impound auctions around here disappeared over a decade ago. Must have been a change in the laws or something.
these auctions still exist but they're just hard to find.its more of a "if you know, you know" situation sadly :)
That was the first omaze ad I’ve ever watched all the way through. Thanks guys!!
Doug later:
Thissssssssssssss is Nolan J Sykes. and today I will be reviewing his body
😳
@@Donut 😆
Wait what
Great video. But I have to say, Donut makes THE BEST sponsor spots. It's the only channel that makes me actually watch them and not only that but enjoy them just as much as the rest of the video.
I swear to got the budget for these Omaze commercials is bigger than the budget for the actual videos
Cheers.
THHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSS... is a brand new 2021 video by Donut Media, and today, I'm going to review it.
I'm going to review it! And give it, a Doug score
I was so happy the day I saw a Jeep Grand Wagoneer (one much nicer than mine) sold for $108k a couple years ago. TO THE MOON!
Already one of my favorite Donut videos 😍 Are you kidding me, Daddy Doug, Reality Check, Speculation Zone, T-Rex and Camo Hat all in one episode??
13:45 would be dope to see something on D List or even its own show to see you guys pick what cars will be expensive collectors or Craigslist specials you can call it “Cashcow or dime a dozen” or “collector or craigslist”
That "reality Check" transition was.... perfect
Donut is literally the only channel on youtube where i dont skip the ads in the beginning of the video!!!
You should watch Jay Forman.
Dude I absolutely love everything this channel does. Donut just makes the stuff I didn't even know I needed in my life lol, and they do it over and over again. What a way to raise the bar sky high for automotive content. They must have some amazing people working with this.
You guy’s should start your own ad company 😂
The only ads I would watch
My past 3 cars have been auction cars, 2006 caravan, 2003 sunfire and a 2008 chrysler aspen
They've all been insane value for money and they've all been really reliable.
It's all about choosing the right auction house that let's you inspect the cars (unless it's in impound which happens alot where I live)
"BADDEST HAT THAT YOU CAN'T SEE!" 18:00 🤣😂🤣
Captions say finest hat
I got my 996 turbo from BaT. I was the high bidder on RNM but they put me in touch with the seller and we worked out a deal. I'm pretty likely to buy from one of these sites again.
I also enjoy the eye candy on there and seeing cool cars that I may have not been aware of. I like the price trends as well, and while these are generally the higher end of the market at least the data is published. You never know what things actually sell for on craigslist or fb since the final prices aren't listed.
That add is quite litraly better than anything Oscar nominated
My dad had a 71 Barracuda (not the hemi). He had to sell it when I was born because you cannot fit 2 carseats in the back seat. I learned about the car when I was in college in the 90s. I remember watching Barrett-Jackson with my dad and seeing a car with his specs go for 6 figures. He was heartbroken that he was not able to mothball it back in the mid 70s.
DAMN...THAT WHINE ON THAT TRX SOUNDS DOPE
The BAT topic was fine but the two ads in this video were AMAZING... Jurassic Park and The camohat song were epic. Best ads I’ve seen since the 2015 Super Bowl.
"The thing about reality, it always gets checked😎" lmaaaaaao Nolan that was hilarious
I usually skip through ads. But with you guys I always watch all the way through the ad because they are prefect and fun to watch. Amazing job advertising giveaways and just other products that are useful.
I literally wait for Mondays, just to see Nolan
You're not alone
@@rita25y.o-checkmyvideo19 oh hey rita, long time no see, how you doing, how's the business going
I worked at an Insurance Auto Auction. That's how I learned to ride and want a motorcycle, where i learned to drive stick, and drive some pretty cool cars and bikes. Always wanted to go check It out as a buyer
Reality check should be a new show on donut. Like telling the full story of something that ppl don't know the full story to
Paying for placement is the biggest problem. You'll find that sites start off with individuals selling cars and it always ends with dealers raiding a platform and posting 7 k OBO only 255,000 miles clean title. And when you get there it's got 30 codes that were cleared and the only thing that works is that the engine turns over and it goes in a straight line.
Geez that commercial had better acting than most Netflix films

I swear, I could hear and read this in Puerto Rican Spanish. Seen too many Facebook posts with the lowballer warning on 90' Corollas and other desirable cars.
"No peseteros ni soñadores. Solo los conocedores saben lo que tengo."
I want to remind you that someone cares for you. It may not show, but someone does.
You my friend are a good person mi amigo
Don’t care
I've gotten several cars at Princeton auto auction. In Princeton West Virginia. Was good got an Accord super cheap had a vacuum leak induced miss. Saw it before sale, temporarily fixed by plugging loose line in, then let it back apart to roll threw. Also got a Nissan Pulsar with pop up n down headlights just had to replace steering rack... nevermind my first car was a Pralude from junkyard that got different generation accord engine swap...
“ I fell out Nolan!” 😂😂
These comments at 0:24 are really well picked and perfectly show what is or can be wrong with such sites. Well chosen.
Please never make us look at Jeremiah running ever again 😂
No promises
Bought a very nice Benz at a drug seizure auction for $3,250 including fees. Amazing car-- never broke during my ownership.
Jurassic parks t-rex: Don't move, she can't see you if you don't move.
Dodge TRX: Don't worry about moving cus imma leave ur ass behind because I got moh powah babeh.
The ads at the beginning of these videos are the best. James actually pulls off John Hammond really well.
Day 29 of asking Donut to make an Up to Speed on Top Secret. (Btw, these Jurassic Park references are gold!)
Sold on C&B. I unfortunately did a no reserve auction and it ended up being the lowest sold price of the car I could find anywhere. Lesson learned.
how was the car condition, photos, etc?
Dount media: BE SURE TO CHECK OUT CARS AND BIDS
I bought a Beck 550 across the country off ebay. Then I flew out and drove it 2600 miles back. Awsome deal and trip. Bought many cars and motorcycles off ebay
