In todays Resin Art video, I show you how you can create crazy freeform resin art jewelry and ornamental pieces using Body Wash/Shampoo.... Anything like a liquid soap should work so long as it is translucent!
This time we add some color to the resin pieces using nail foils, you can color the UV resin if you wish, you have seen me do this before in previous experiments, again, just make sure the resin remains translucent to be able to cure through.

Two what ifs? What if you put an inlay on top of the shampoo and then poured the UV resin over and ran over the sides of the inlay? What if you had a silicone stick and you held it standing up right in the middle of the shampoo. Then you pour the UV resin into the shampoo right at the silicone stick? You could try right up against the stick touching it and just super close to the stick so that it might touch it once it goes under.

I didn’t get around to it on your last video, but funny enough, I was going to ask if you could come up with a way to make a tornado, storm clouds, lightning-something weathery. Maybe you could try using this technique and make a tornado with some glitter or mica in the resin so you could see it swirling? Bravo, Daniel, these abstract pieces are stunning. They are very eerily human. I love watching your experiments. I have the same joyful excitement as you do while watching to see where your creations take you!

I wonder if using heated epoxy, which I do as it cures 150 times faster, into heated medium, bath gel etc would work.
I heat all my larger mixes of resin but one must, must, must wear correct breathing gear.
Kettle water hot, stand for five mins before using.
I’ll go and try it & put my report on your desk by next Monday 😂

Daniel, this is fascinating! I wonder if using a coloured shampoo would make a difference? Probably not as the resin doesn't absorb the liquid in any way. You might try the coloured UV resins that are now available. They could be very pretty, but I don't think your nail wraps would do anything at all for them. I love the end results of today's experiments! Thank you for another amazing tutorial.

So...could you possibly tint the UV resin first, like with say a color-shift mica powder, put it into a syringe or squeeze bottle to squirt it into the gel and cure it? What would happen if you cured it as you were squirting it in? Use your flashlight aimed at the midpoint of the cup, turn it on, and slowly squeeze in the resin (keeping the bottle high enough up that it doesn't cure as it's coming out). Could you get stalactites or icicles that way?
The one you put on the cord looks like a deconstructed rose.

I think the reflective gels would look amazing. They have this special kind of glitter that is made out of the same stuff that reflective elements on the clothes are done for safety reasons. And in certain types of light, especially under flash light, they sparkle like nothing else. It would look like some nebula in the space.
And about applying on the back... ho about you spill a bit of resin on the mat, thin layer, touch it with the flat side, so it is covered and then you can put it on nailfoil.

    • @daniel..cooper
      @daniel..cooper  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Oooh, I will look into these gels 🤩. Yes, you can do that but will get sharp edges and the resin will also fill the gaps.

If you purchased a really big bottle of bath/shower gel/ shampoo or two or three standard sized bottles, you could fill the clear cups up so that you could rotate them around to prevent the viscosity lowering as you were having a creative session. You could add a small amount of ice to the water to keep it cool longer if you are working somewhere hot.

Daniel, try heating your shampoo. Make note few degrees above room temperature run your test.
Then try again heat your shampoo a few more degrees. Make no and try again and make a documentation of it in a video I would love to shake. I live on a houseboat. I'm lemonade on how much power I can create without running the generator in all the other boats around me. Complain have a blessed day thank you for your contact

    • @daniel..cooper

Yay! TBH, most things my size, I cure at full power. I use low power to cure slightly deeper projects or bookmarks, cure low power for a minute then crank it up for another minute, it prevent the bookmarks curling.
